Don't walk - RUN! The customer care is almost non-existent and when they make a mistake, it takes them forever to correct it. However, it might be that they drag their feet depending on what is most beneficial for them. I tried to cash out One of 4 CD accounts, the agent repeated my request and then promptly did the wrong one Plus another account. I saw the mistake Immediately and it's been a week that I've heard the apologies and promises that they would fix it asap. Still, not done. Meanwhile, the ***** period to decide if I want to roll over expires today - a Holiday - and it seems I will be Trapped with a much lower rate than I can get elsewhere. Seeing how inept they are, I am reluctant to trust them to manage my my money. Please Be Careful. This seems a bit "scammy" to me and now it seems I am down .60 interest.

I wish I could put zero stars. I was told I paid off my balance only to be charged a late fee the next day. Now they continue to add fees and harass me for an account I paid off! Their predatory business practices are awful and their staff is useless.

I would leave 0 if possible. I took out a VS card through Comenity when I worked there over ten years ago, reasonable limit and never kept a balance. I made a small purchase on it in 2022 to keep the account open, paid it off same month. Comenity never acknowledged the payment and charged me interest. I called and fought it, they agreed it was their error it would be removed. Didn't look at the account for a month or two assuming it was taken care of, logged in only to find they carried the interest they charged over with compound interest. I called back demanding the account be closed for this error and they apologized again saying it was their error, they'll remove all charges as long as I kept the account open. I did and they removed all charges but I never used it again out of fear for what they did. I just looked at my credit report and they REPORTED A LATE PAYMENT TO THE CREDIT BUREAUS from that error they made. When I called them they said there was nothing they could do based on how long it's been. Predatory lenders.

Comenity Bank sent a check back to my bank in December when that check would’ve payed off the account. My bank resent the same check in January and then the check was accepted. Between that time an interest fee was accessed to my account. I reached out numerous times and provided documentation to show them that someone sent the check back to my bank even though there was nothing wrong with it. They have not even tried to rectify my dispute. They just want to make me pay more than what I borrowed. This is how they treat military service members!

I opened the account under pressure from J Jill sales person. I wasn't told about the 2.99 monthly paper billing charge. Called the 800 number, spoke to ****, who was unhelpful and rude. I haven't ever dealt with a customer service rep who was nasty and arrogant. I told him I would close the account and pay with Visa in the future. Don't be fooled into opening an account with J Jill. You're not dealing with them, you are dealing with this scam bank. STAY AWAY!

If you don't pay your monthly credit card balance in full, Comenity/Bread Financial engages in the Mafia-like practice of charging "recurring interest" for at least the next two monthseven AFTER you pay the entire balance. For example: Say your ******* balance is $1,000 and you send in a payment for $500. Then, in February, you pay off the remaining $500 balance. Assuming you make no further purchases, you'll still get a bill for approximately $15-20 in interest in March and April. How is it legal to charge interest on a zero balance for two months???Comenity says that in order to avoid further interest charges you need to call customer service when you're ready to pay in full so they can calculate the interest to date and update the balance over the phone. Ridiculous.I filed a complaint with the ************************************ earlier this year, and Comenity/Bread refunded two months worth of interest charges. That's a tacit admission that they're s******* the public with their deceptive fee schedule.American Express and Discover don't do this. Comenity/Bread shouldn't be doing it either. A word to the wise: Beware of any bank that endorses sly ways of picking your pocket, even after you pay your bill in full.

April of this year I stopped into Michaels which is located. Glenn Allen Virginia up on checking out. The cashier asked me if I would like to apply for a card to get a discount. At first I said no. I should have stuck with that instinct then. I said sure why not after putting my information into the system the cashier stated and they would contact me that at this time they could not give me any credit so I handed her my card. Debit /banking card and went on about my day. Happy really because I didn't need another credit card. A month or so later I get in the mail and my goals billing statement. I looked at it thinking that it was a letter stating why they would not afford me credit but it end up being a bill. So I called the banking institution to find out why I was being charged when I did not get a credit card at the bottom of my receipt that I pulled out as proof. Lo and behold there was a four-digit number that was not the one I gave them which was my debit/banking card. I had been approved credit and was told otherwise. So I went ahead and paid the fee and went on about my day. When I was on the phone with the operator she never mentioned anything about a lake fee or charge for me not paying the bill on time because I had explained to her the situation and that I had not received this paper a bill until recently which at that time was 15th or 16th. So before you know it, I received another bill that charged me by an additional late fee on the late fee that I never knew I had. This is ridiculous and almost feels predatory the failure of people who are either mistrained or taught to leave out information that cost me money that I have not to spend with nothing to show for it .I did close out the account on the credit card and will not be dealing with Michaels any further will be working diligently to sever ties with Comenity. Bank, It is not okay to rob people no matter how you try to dress it up.

Comenity Bank and Bread Financial provide no security for cardholders’ lines of credit in the event of their partnership with a retailer ending or the business’s bankruptcy. Comenity Bank serviced Forever 21 credit cards until the company filed for bankruptcy, resulting in the loss of all cardholders’ accounts. Despite being offered no options to transfer or move their credit lines to any of the other 150 cards they offer, I lost a $4,000 line of credit after eight years as a cardholder. My credit score was negatively impacted, and I was supposedly notified via mail (despite having paperless communication preferences). In April 2025, I updated my mailing address due to my upcoming move in May. Today, June 29, 2025, I discovered that my account had been closed due to a credit Karma alert. Comenity Bank informed me that a letter had been sent to my previous address in May, despite my repeated calls and updates to the app. I contacted customer service three times, was disconnected twice, and was initially told that my account was closed due to fraud. I was subsequently transferred between multiple departments before finally speaking with an individual who provided a clear explanation and confirmed that the account had been closed as a result of Forever 21’s bankruptcy. This experience has been extremely frustrating, leading me to conclude that I will never open a credit card with any retail store. The lack of provisions or security measures to protect my line of credit in the event of the company’s closure or relocation away from Bread Financial/Comenity Bank is a significant concern. I hope this information is helpful to individuals considering opening a credit card with a retail partner of Bread Financial/Comenity Bank.

Ulta and Commenity ************ are running a criminal scamThey changed their payment address without notifying us and then charged us late fees when they could not process our payments. We reached out to them to try to fix it and despite never missing a payment, and having emails from the bank that it was their address change that caused the issue, they refused to waive the late fees. Completely rude and disrespectful at all stages of customer service they even hung up on us! Dont get scammed by these losers. Shame on you!
