I was advised at the checkout that Joann gift cards are not being accepted at the store, as it is apparently going out of business. This does not seem acceptable! If the store is still open and selling merchandise, then they should accept gift cards that people have already paid Joann for!
They are also not accepting gift cards online either.
I spent $179.26 and had a gift card for $67.56 that I COULDN'T USE! I had gotten it for Christmas!
I didn't see any signage in the store saying that they were not accepting gift cards.

I have just sent a complaint to their website, and am waiting for a response.

      Dear ******,

We sincerely apologize for any frustration this situation may have caused. Following a comprehensive sale process and auction, GA Group together with the Prepetition Term Loan Agent, was selected as having the winning bid to acquire substantially all of JOANN’s assets. Subject to court approval of the transaction, the winning bidders plan to wind-down ongoing operations and conduct going-out-of-business sales at all JOANN locations.

We are committed to working constructively with the winning bidder to ensure an orderly wind-down of operations that minimizes the negative impact on all JOANN Team Members, vendors, customers and communities. We expect to begin, or in some cases continue, going-out-of-business sales at all locations immediately.
Due to these changes, the redemption of JOANN gift cards, discounts, coupons, and price matching have been suspended. We truly wish we could assist further with this matter, but you can file a claim for reimbursement through the following website: ***********************************************

On Friday, Feb 28, 2025 I attempted to place an online order at *****************. At checkout I was unable to use my gift cards. The website indicated that gift cards needed to be redeemed in store. This was after hours so I went to the store the following morning when they opened and was told that Joanne is no longer honoring their own gift cards that were paid for!!!

I called a corporate number where they offered to check the balance of my gift card but any managers were not in.

I simply want my money that Joanne Fabrics already took!

This complaint is about Joann Fabrics as a whole. My store wasn´t listed so I picked any one. I have a $25 gift card that they are now telling me that I can´t use. Apparantly the last day to use was 2/28. I was told that it was posted online and in articles. I did not see anything as I try to limit screen time. It is impossible for all of their customers to know of this. So this company has taken my moms money and now we have nothing to show for it. The stores are still open and should still be taking payment that they already received the money for. How is this legal? I want the money back for a card that I can no longer use according to them.

JoAnn's is not just closing their stores but they also stopped accepting their own gift cards (at least at my local stores). No warning was given (it is not even posted on their website) or remedy offered for getting any funds on said gift cards. They are basically stealing money from those like me with unused gift cards. I have two $25.00 gift cards (for a total of $50.00) that I am unable to use. Who knows how much others have (and how much it adds up to)
I am requesting to either send me a check, or a store credit, for that amount so I can pay for my order.
This is not the way to do business. JoAnn should honor their gift cards or offer an immediate solution so people can use their money (before there is nothing left at the store), instead of avoiding responsibility and simply taking our money. Customers deserve respect.!!!

I am rejecting this response because you cannot change the terms of sale on a gift card AFTER you sell the gift card.  JoAnn's needs to honor every gift card they have already sold. Even more, this decision was not advertised anywhere, not on their website, not at the store, not by email, JoAnn simply stopped taking those gift cards without giving to their customers a chance. This only makes sense if they are planning to liquidate and don't care about what happens to their business or their customers. Customers deserve respect. I demand a prompt solution to this matter. I want my $50.00 back.

I went to your store on 2/9 and made a purchase. I brought the item home and it would not work for what I needed it for. I went back to the store to return the item on 2/16. When I returned there were all these signs about no refunds. I questioned the person behind the counter - there were no signs when I purchased the item. They were rude and said they weren't taking it back. I tried to show her the receipt showing when I bought it and the back saying it could be returned. She didn't care and told me she couldn't help me. The same day I contacted your customer service. I didn't get a response until 2/25 and my receipt was requested. I sent the receipt and no response.

I want my money back. I could care less if your store is going out of business. There were no signs when I bought the item and your website even shows the same return policy. I want my money back. My husband even tried to return the item when there were no more signs on the outside of the store and they were rude to him as well.

This is ridiculous. I would have never even purchased anything from your store if I knew it was going to be like this. I'm pretty close to just disputing the charge.

On January 19th, 2025 at 317 pm, I placed an online order with JoAnn's fabric and was told I would recieve a order confirmation via email but I never did and the funds have now been removed from my gift card. I have attempted several times to call JoAnn's customer service at their listed number but no one answer the phone lines. I have held as long as 2 hours with no answer. I have also attempted to reach the company via email with no response. As a last hope, I went the local store in **************, ** and spoke to the store manager in regard to this matter and she told me she would contact the higher *** regarding this matter. I have followed up with her several times on the response and she advised that she has not received on and there is nothing she can due as far as issuing a credit. I would like a cash refund for my gift card at this point since no one can the money return to my gift card and business is closing down.

Jo-Ann Fabrics is closing stores. I just found out on 2/26/25. I read they would accept gift cards through 2/27/25. I spent several hours on 2.27/25 scanning their website to find items to use my gift cards. Only when I went to check out, there was no place to add the gift card. I had to go to FAQs on the website to see that they are not accepting gift cards. I tried to call-but got answering service indicating they were closed, however, closing time is 7 pm and it was before this time. I sent an email and got a standard message they would get back to me. I want either my 85.00 to spend elsewhere or let me purchase the items-which they will probably sell out of. I'm sure many others will be affected by this and they already have our money. This is not about the Hanover store, but I could not submit the form without an address.

I purchased an item from the Joann fabrics website on 2/13. I have screen shots of the return policy posted online at this time. Due to inadequate packing material, the item arrived broken on 2/20. The closest store to return the item is 45 minutes away and not convenient to get to during the week. When I tried to return the item on 2/26 the store stated they are no longer accepting returns. They changed the website at somepoint after 2/22 according to internet archives, which is after I made the purchase.
