We purchased an in-home water filtration system. Leaf installed a different system than was contracted--a much smaller system than we expected. The system is not correct and it leaks and it has caused the water pressure in the house to be low. The system installed under the sink does not function. We called Leaf systems multiple times and they refused to assist. Then they sent us a bill for $4600 from a secondary company. Leaf refuses to take care of this and now we are on the hook for this money. We asked for them to come and uninstall or fix the system. They refused to call us back to arrange this.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 06/12/2025

Leaf gave me a call about the system. We confirmed with Leaf that we do have the incorrect system and that is is affecting our plumbing and water pressure. We asked that they come and remove the system (again, we already had this conversation and the refused to remove it). They said that they would not remove the system, but instead they would have someone come and service the system. We already had this conversation with them and they serviced the unit two times. The first time because of a leak and the second to assess the water pressure. We had an independent plumber ($300 service call at our expense) to identify the source of our water pressure problems. The plumber indicated the improperly installed Leaf system (serviced twice by Leaf). We are at another impasse. Leaf refuses to retrieve their faulty system that is interferring with our water pressure. We want the system to be taken out and want a refund ASAP. We did make any progress toward a solution on the phone today. We still need help from BBB to get this resolve. We really appreciate how fast BBB moved on this and all of the assistance provided.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 06/16/2025

We were able to get Leaf to call us a few times. The first time they said they had to "inspect" the system again. They have already been out to the house twice to inspect the system. We do not want the system any longer and we asked them to take it out. As I said before, we had our own independent plumber come in and inspect the system at our expense ($300). We want the system to be removed completely from our home. Leaf left a voicemail to my spouse stating that "perhaps the problem was with the sprinkler system." We have no sprinkler system. My spouse called their corporate headquarters and left a message. I just want the system removed from our house and I want the secondary bank to release us from the debt. It has already affected my credit because it appears that we are past due by 60 days on this bill. I appreciate any additional help you can provide. Your inquiries have really gotten the ball rolling for us and I thank you for this.

Customer has refused service and inspections.  At this time, we are unable to collaborate the customer's allegations.  We request customer allow us to inspect the service.  We are unable to move forward toward resolution without the inspection step.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 06/22/2025

I am rejecting this response because:

I want Leaf to come and remove their equipment. Each time we have spoken on the phone with Leaf, they insist that they WILL NOT remove the system. Instead, they want to come to our home and INSPECT the system and potentially FIX what is wrong with the system. Here is a summary of what has happened and what I want to see happen in the very near future. 1. Leaf installed the wrong system at first. 2. The system immediately caused problems--a leak on the water main where they installed their piping. 3. Leaf came and fixed this--no more leaks. 4. Water pressure in the house declined immediately to the point where the 3rd floor bathroom barely has water. 5. We had independent plumber come and diagnose our water pressure issue--he stated that it was the INCORRECTLY installed and improper/incorrect Leaf system for our home. 6. We called Leaf back and asked them to fix the system. 7. Leaf inspected the system and said that it was the correct system and that it was working fine. 8. We called 7 more times to resolve this over the course of 12 months. 9. We are now in collections with Service Finance Company, LLC--their third party finance company. This has already negatively affected our credit. 10. I am turning to BBB in hopes that we can resolve this. I really don't want to go to the expense of retaining the services of a lawyer to resolve this issue. Can BBB please tell me what the next steps will be in helping us to TAKE THE LEAF SYSTEM OUT OF OUR HOME and requesting that the debt to the third party servicer is REMOVED. I really appreciate how responsive BBB has been so far and I hope that we can come to a speedy resolution.

On 4/2/2025, a Leaf Home Water Solutions salesman ***** ***** visited my father's home and my father clearly stated he was seeking a water filtration system that would allow him to safely drink tap water—equivalent or better than the bottled water he currently purchases. He expressed his goal plainly: to stop spending money on bottled water and have all household water (including shower and sink) tested under 40 TDS levels, which he considered safe.
The salesman assured my father, in front of me, that the system being sold would accomplish exactly that. He specifically claimed that both drinking and shower water would test below 40, and that “you will never have to buy bottled water again.” Based on those repeated guarantees, my father agreed to move forward.
After installation, my father immediately texted the salesman asking if the water was now safe to drink. The salesman twice responded “yes.” However, upon testing, the water TDS levels remained over 450—the same as before installation. When confronted, the salesman responded with "wow?" and claimed the system might take time to adjust, while also delaying follow-up beyond the 3-day cancellation window, which we believe was intentional.
Weeks later, a manager admitted on a recorded call that what was installed was a water softener, not a reverse osmosis system, and that only an RO system could bring the levels down to safe drinking standards. (He also said the salesman was new)That is not what my father was sold.
This is a textbook bait-and-switch involving a senior citizen who was relying on the good faith and honesty of the representative. It was not only misleading but dangerous. Had my father trusted the salesman's word and consumed the water as told, he could have suffered serious health consequences.

Furthermore, the contract he signed references a “water filtration system,” not a water softener. This mislabeling reinforces our position that he was sold and delivered a product under false pretenses.

I've have been trying to get Leaf Home Water Solutions to fix our water problem since they installed it, we have constantly called them month after month, and they have sent out service technicians that kept trying to fix the problem but they tell us that the water system that was sold to us isn't right for our water, but all the corporation has done is send out a different service technician and promise it will be fixed and our water still isn't right. I have a 7 year guarantee on the system, and they kept promising me that they would fix it but they still haven't and after contacting a local company that sells water systems they told me that they have had several other people who had Leaf Home Water Solutions in our area and they had to get refunded because the system didn't work for them because our water is extremely hard, that's when I realized it wasn't going to get fixed for me.

I purchased a water softener system from Leaf Home Water Solutions at the end of September 2024 for $3,500. From the very first use, the system caused excessively salty water after every regeneration cycle. I contacted their technical support 4–5 times, and they repeatedly blamed a plumbing leak in my home. However, their own technician and I personally checked all four toilets in my house and found no leaks.

The company has refused to accept responsibility or fix the issue. I have since shut off the system completely, as the water was unusable. I paid for improved water quality and received worse than before. I am requesting a full replacement of the system or proper repair at no cost. I am asking the Attorney General’s office to help resolve this matter as the company has not acted in good faith.

      Customer Answer

Summary of Follow-Up Attempt by Company (June 3, 2025):
On June 2, 2025, following the complaint I filed with your office, I received a call from a Leaf Home installation manager, who scheduled a visit to inspect and adjust the system.
During the visit, he made the following changes:
Increased the water usage capacity setting from 1,713 gallons to 2,813 gallons before triggering regeneration.
Changed the regeneration cycle time from 3:00 AM to 1:00 AM.
He informed me that the system would regenerate that night at 1:00 AM and asked me to monitor the water afterward and notify him of the results.

      ?? Result Observed on June 4, 2025:
At 4:46 AM, I used the water to brush my teeth. The water tasted normal, and I was hopeful that the problem had been resolved.
However, at 8:10 AM, after returning from the gym and taking a shower, the water was extremely salty — to the point that I had to immediately stop the shower. My skin was soaked with salt and felt sticky and uncomfortable. I shut off the system to prevent to more salt water to coming into the house.
I immediately texted the installation manager, as he had instructed me to do, but as of now (June 5, 2025), I have not received any response from him.

I respectfully ask that my case remain open and active, and I am requesting your office to continue pursuing a resolution with Leaf Home Water Solutions.
I am still seeking a complete system replacement or a full repair by a competent technician, not just parameter adjustments that fail to address the real issue.
Thank you again for your support in this matter.

We bought a water treatment system from Leaf Water Systems 10 months ago. The system has not properly since we purchased it. Their technicians have been out more than six times.

At one point, the tech said the head was installed incorrectly and he reversed it.

The brine tank either overflows and does not flow. The water has a foul metallic odor and taste. They replaced the head and the issue was worse.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/04/2025

Inspection was completed on 6/3/25.  The inspection showed that the system purchased was installed correctly and system is working as intended.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 06/06/2025

The system is not functioning propetly. They replaced the head and tested the water.  They assured us water was fine on June 3rd.  Originally the water tasted metallic and had a foul odor.  Currently, as of 6/5/25 the water has a strong salt taste indicating that there is an issue with the brine tank.  I called them to report, however, I was told that they couldn’t open a new ticket because the old ticket had not been closed.

      Business Response

      Date: 06/18/2025

Our Regional Service Manager completed an inspection on 6/3 and determined that
the odor was not present at the bypass. The customer was advised that the smell
was coming from inside their home, and they needed to have their home lines
treated. The customer followed up with Destin after the service was completed
and advised that there was a strong salt taste coming from the water dispensed
from the fridge. The customer was again instructed to have their home lines
treated to address the concerns, as they are not related to our installation.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 06/24/2025

I am rejecting this response because:

The system does not treat my specific well water.  Leaf Water was informed that we had iron bacteria, which is a problem in my geographical location.  Iron bactetia is naturally occurring.  Leaf water stated that I, in fact, require a hydrogen peroxide system because the system they sold me does not treat iron bactetia.  We were transparent with the salesman about the iron bacteria, prior to purchasing the system.

We had our home replumbed with pvc because Leaf water stated the problem was our galvanized pipes.  We are still having water softener failures and clogged brine tank.  The system has never worked properly.

They told us we had to install a prefilter because they are not responsible for the sludge from the iron bactetia.  Again, we purchased the system because the salesman told is the ststem would take care of the iron.

We want them to remove the system and replace it with a hydrogen prroxide system or refund our money.  Over $7000 plus interest on the financing, which they said we would not be charged interest and we have.

I purchased a Leaf Home Water Solution Water softener system for $6000.00 in July 2024 upon the advice of their salesman who tested our water. He stated that our water was so clean and clear that we didn't need a reverse osmosis system. A month or so after the installation our water started developing a sulfur smell and taste (which we'venever had this issue). I called Leaf and they sent a tech out to test the water. The tech stated that there was nothing wrong with our water test and he increased the water cycling time. He stated to give it a couple of months. I proceeded to call Leaf a second time to again complain that the sulfur smell and taste was still there. They sent another tech again to test the water. He also said that there was nothing wrong with our water test. He tried smelling the water on our kitchen faucet but stated there was no smell. He said that we should flush out our water heater tank as that may be the culprit. He also left us a solution that he poured into our salt tank reservoir. I went ahead and flushed out our water heater tank. However, the sulfur smell and taste in our home is still present and becoming more prevalent. I proceeded to call them after a couple of weeks. After calling a third time, they sent another tech to test the water. This time the tech took water samples with 2 empty Zephyrhills water bottles and all he said was to call the company in 24 hrs. I called the next day and was promised a call back that same day and never got a call. I called and texted a supposed field tech manager (***** ********). I never heard back from him until 2 days later. His reply was, "I work in the field and often have classes after work. I will have management look into this..." A week later, I still have not heard back from him. I've called the company several more times. They promised that now my calls would be labeled as a level 1. I still have yet to receive a call from anybody. Very frustrating experience with Leaf.

This matter has not been resolved!!! First of all, I never received any communication from Leaf Home Water Solutions after making several more attempts to call. I asked for a manager amd never received a call. The calling and leaving messages on my behalf has now been going on for almost 2 months without any communication from this company or any managers. Last week of May, without any communication they send an tech out without even calling or communicating. They did their normal testing of our water outside of the house but never came inside our house to test or smell the egg/sulfur taste and smell of the water inside the house. This is the very complaint we made and it was never addressed. So how has the issue been addressed when you never came inside the house to test the water. This is totally unacceptable!!!

I am bothered by whoever is responding to BBB. As they obviously are making erroneous assumptions. After, I called and left a message for the CEO in ** and sent him a text. I also called there service center again to complain that no manager from their ***** location has called me. I finally got a response on Mon. 06/03/25 from a national operations manager. I discussed with him the service complaint and issues that I've run into with their local ***** office and their product. He apologized and agreed that I should have at the least received a phone call back (which I never did until 1 1/2 months later). He tried to troubleshoot my issues over the phone but he still was not able to pinpoint the problem. He gave me some suggestions on other troubleshooting options, which I will try to attempt this weekend. If the issues are still there I will call him back. That was the full course of our conversation.  But we never came to agreement that the issue has been fixed and resolved. I don't appreciate the fact that responding back to BBB that I spoke with a national manager and the issue has been resolved. The issue has not been resolved!!!

      Business Response

      Our National Service Manager
spoke with the customer on 6/2. During this conversation, he guided the
customer through taking water samples from both sides of the bypass. At that
time the customer confirmed that there was no odor or unpleasant taste from the
water taken at the bypass. The customer was advised that the issues were not
related to the installation of our system as the issue was only present within
their home. It was recommended to the customer that they needed to flush their
hot water heater and potentially replace the anode rod. The customer advised in
their rejection that these steps have not been taken. At this time there is
nothing further that Leaf Home Water Solutions is able to do as the issues are
not related to our system. We recommended that the customer moves forward with
the resolution that was previously discussed.

Oct 2024 they installed a whole house water treatment system guaranteeing it would filter out both arsenic #3 & #5 Which I needed done because we dont want to shower and wash clothes in arsenic laden water with sky high nitrates. We had independent water tests done to show it only works at the kitchen RO , not the whole house as they advertise. Ive called many times with no response from no one higher up in the company, only install personal and sales. Even Service Finance (the finance company) says there investigating the issue but nothing back from them either, they just want there money. I just want this system removed. I cant use my well water since there product doesnt work so I have water trucked in every couple of weeks. They tried sending someone in the test the water again couple of months ago but told him it wouldnt do any good because I wasnt using the well water and having city water delivered to my storage tank.

I installed Leaf Water Solution system over a year ago. So se then the water stays rusty, stains toilets, showers, clothing, etc. multiple complaints did nothing. I was told “nothing can be done about it.” What? $12,000 system and nothing can be done? I can’t drink that water even after reverse osmosis filter. I can’t even give that water to my dogs as animal control do not allow me. I have to buy drinking water for myself and my animals from the store. Moreover I had to move the system to another side of the house as I was building the pool. System was moved and installed by the same company. Recently the whole system felled and broke. It’s also broke all piping even to the house. I had no water and after calling the company they got back to me only a week later. I had to hire a plumber to fix piping to my house so I can have at least dirty water. After speaking to manager ****, he told me that I have to pay $550 for installation again!!! Really? Originally the system never was attached properly to the house. I am so sick doing with this company and their bad business that I am seriously considering legal action. I want them to take my system and refund my money.

Service was completed on 5/21/25.  We replaced the IRT system that was damaged due to an act of nature, which was not covered under the warranty.
