Purchased a patio enclosure April 2024 for around $10,000. Woke up on a morning in August and one panel was completely shattered from the inside due to a defect. Company offers lifetime warranty so did not think it would be a problem. Fast forward to today 3/28/25 and it has still not been replaced. The office manager has told me the window is ready but the installer never comes when promised. I have been stood up multiple times. There is always a reschedule and an excuse. The office manager is extremely unprofessional, raises her voice to me and seems annoyed that I keep bothering her. I just want my window replaced under the warranty I was promised. Feeling like it is false advertising and I was duped out of my money. I have tried everything on my own to solve this and nothing is working. Calls and messages left at the corporate headquarters are never responded to.Business Response

11/18/24 Fraudulent sales practice I reached out to patio enclosures through a third party company, Great Day Improvements. The salesman came to my home to quote me the job. I had an existing patio enclosure sunroom that needed to be updated. He quoted me the job at $46,000. He used a program on his ipad showing me what my monthly payment would be to finance this job (also through a third party, called GreenSky). This is where the issue occurred. He put in the system, without my knowledge, that my monthly payment would be $363 to finance the $46k by covertly typing in that I was putting $14,000 down. What he did next was send my information to GreenSky, where I would sign all contracts and agree to the loan. The way the company operates is they charge 1/3 the amount when they order the supplies. They charge 1/3 when they start, and they charge the rest when the job is completed. Therefore, I did not realize that my monthly payment would be much higher than promised to me by the salesman, as I had financed the full $46k and not with the $14,000 down payment he covertly put into his program to get me to agree to move forward with the project. I reached out to the staff and have had a very difficult time with any resolution. I understand that I signed the contract through greensky to finance the total amount of the project, and I am happy to pay that back. My issue is the fraudulent sales technique used by the salesman in this case. I feel this company should be held liable to rectify this issue for me as it is fraud and false advertisement. He was coercive in how he sold me this product, and the company seems to be ok with this type of practice. I don’t know what options I have moving forward.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I have been in contact with a consumer protection lawyer who advised me against signing this offer. I presented this case and they agree there was fraud, misrepresentation, and bait-and-switch sales tactics used, which are illegal. I have stated to the company what I would like to settle this matter and they are refusing escalate this beyond local staff. I’ve asked for corporate contacts and they will not grant me that information. I will continue to pursue this matter until they offer me an amount closer to $14,000, which is the amount the salesman fraudulently entered to get me to sign the contract and move forward with the project.Business Response

We genuinely understand how frustrating it can be to have a misunderstanding regarding the pricing in our contract, and we are truly sorry for any confusion this has caused you. The initial down payment was indicated with the expectation that it would be made in cash or by check, and we realize that this may not have been clear.
In an effort to ease your concerns and show our commitment to your satisfaction, we would like to offer you a price reduction of $2,333.86. We hope that this adjustment, credited to your Greensky account, will help alleviate some of the burden. To move forward with this resolution, we kindly ask for your signature on a change order reflecting this adjustment. Once we receive your signed change order, we will promptly process the reduction without any delays. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate this situation together. We truly hope that your new enclosure brings you joy and enhances your home in ways you’ve always envisioned.- The Great Day Improvements Team

I am rejecting this response because:
I am still awaiting further action and complete resolution for the fraudulent business practice that occurred. The company’s unwilling to escalate this above the local branch, so I will be pursuing legal action. Bate-and-switch sales tactics are illegal and this is the technique used by the company. I am not satisfied with the offer. Until we can agree to the $14,000 I will not move forward.Initial Complaint

In June 2024 we signed a contract to build a *******. We were verbally told it would be in October. In October we were told it would begin the first week of November. Then it was the second week. Then it was the first of December, at which point I got a bit angry and demanded it be finished by Thanksgiving, as based on the original timeline of October we had planned on using the room in December. They sent a team who completed 75% of the work. Two windows were made incorrectly, and it would take "two weeks" to remake them. In January 2025 I finally got a manager to come and look at the project to determine what still needed to be done. He took measurements of the missing windows, promised they would be made in "two weeks." The electrical has not been done, and he assured me an electrician would be out later that week to begin work. It's now 6 weeks later, and I have heard nothing. I have made so many phone calls, and not one has been returned. I have paid $60,000 to date (90% of the total cost) and do not have anything near a completed room. The electrical has not been started. Construction is halfway done, and the room leaks from the roof. I want the room finished. Ideally at no additional cost to me, because spending months chasing them down has been ridiculous. The lack of communication is unprofessional. I understand manufacturing mistakes happen, and weather can be unpredictable, but to not communicate and not return phone calls is unacceptable and shows a lack of concern for the customer. I think I have been patient, even paying the requested 30% ($20,000) against my better judgement, so I was in adherence to the contract. The ONLY time I have received a phone call from the company is to request payment. I really did not want to pay the 30% since the room was not done, and I feared money was my only leverage. Turns out I was right.Business Response

Great Day Improvements is charging me $3273.87. They were supposed to install a sunroom on my deck. No work was ever done on my property. No proof of work was ever shown to me. Great Day Improvements failed to obtain a permit for the project from the City of ******. I only found out that such a permit could never be obtained by calling the City of ****** myself. I have reached out to Great Day Improvements by phone numerous times and requested in writing justification of the charges. They provided none. I sent a certified letter to the company requesting justification of charges. They provided none. Greensky is a financing company that Great Day Improvements uses to provide financing. I paid Greensky $818.62 before I found out that the project could not be completed due to lack of a permit. Greensky refuses to refund the money and refuses to zero out my account because they say Great Day Improvement must notify them the account is closed and the balance is zero. Greensky says, as of 3/20/2025, my account is in dispute, but they still notified the credit bureaus that I did not make a payment. Now my credit score is harmed. Greensky will talk to me, but Great Day Improvements is not communicating. It seems like a huge scam. Great Day Improvements say they are experts in sunroom and deck installment in my area, so they must have worked on the permitting process with the City of ****** before my project. I would have kept on making payments if I had not contacted the City of ****** myself. I just want my money ($818.62) back and the account with Greensky zeroed out and closed. The account balance with Greensky is $2455.25.Business Response

We understand your frustration and regret that this situation has been difficult. The amount retained, $3,273.87, reflects the services provided up to the point of cancellation, including project planning, design, administrative work, and permitting efforts. This is outlined in the contract you signed, which states the deposit will be kept if the contract is cancelled after the 3 day period, and Greensky approved the retention of these funds for the work completed.
While we recognize that the permit could not be obtained, our team worked in good faith to move your project forward until that determination was made. We have communicated multiple times regarding these charges and the reasoning behind them. If you need further clarification, we are happy to provide details again. As for your account with Greensky, any adjustments or resolutions regarding financing must be handled directly with them. We recommend continuing to work with them regarding your concerns about the loan status and credit reporting. Thank you.- The Great Day Improvements Team

I am rejecting this response because:
GDI engaged in dishonest business practices. GDI promised me a sunroom. They delivered nothing. They should have known they could never deliver my sunroom. They know about the permitting process. I trusted them. After months went by with no definitive answer about when my sunroom could be built, I took matters into my own hands. I am the one who found out that the permit could never have been obtained. I had to call the city of ****** myself to get this information. I had to challenge Great Day Improvements (GDI) with this information. Upon presentation of this information, GDI's representative ***** **** agreed the project could never be done and it was best to cancel.
***** ****, GDI's sales representative saw my property. The conduit for the water management is easily visible from my deck. GDI advertises that it is an expert on the installation of sunrooms in ******, NC. GDI surely must have worked with the permitting office of ****** before. GDI must have known the permit could not be obtained.
It seems like a huge scam to me. GDI is demanding that I pay thousands of dollars for nothing but aggravation. Whatever work they say they did delivered nothing to me, the consumer. I have no benefit at all. This is outrageous consumer abuse.

We understand your frustration and regret that your project could not move forward as planned. Our team follows the standard permitting process, as each municipality has different requirements, and unfortunately, a variance was required for your project. While we always aim to move forward with construction, when obstacles like this arise, we provide customers with the option to pursue a variance or cancel the project and cover the hard costs incurred, as outlined in the contract. You chose to cancel rather than proceed with the variance process. The retained costs covered completed work, including CAD drawings, site measurements, and permitting efforts. We regret the outcome and understand this has been a frustrating experience. Thank you.

We purchased 6 windows in April 2024 which were installed in July 2024. During installation the tech informed us that a screen was missing from a slider and that they were putting in an order for the screen to be delivered post install. We waited for word on status of the screen until Sept, and reached out to the installer and the Operations person, and were told they didn't know where the order was, and that they needed to put in another order for the screen. This comes to today, where I finally spoke with our salesperson, and stated there were logistical issues with personnel, and would call back the next day with a status. No call the next day.Business Response

We understand your frustration and sincerely apologize for the ongoing delay with your missing screen. We recognize that this has been an extended process, and we truly appreciate your patience. We appreciate you reaching out to the office yesterday and speaking with Linda. Our team has been in continuous contact with Manufacturing to get an update, and while we have followed up multiple times, we have yet to receive a confirmed shipping date. On August, 2024 an enclosed bug proof enclosed screen with door was sold to us by Colin Ward, Patio Enclosures $7,723.98 *A brand of Great Day Improvements*
In October 2024, an installer, ******* ************ Came to work on our property, alone operating way into the night. No sunlight to guide him. Needless to say the service received was unacceptable due to numerous flaws, error and did not meet industry standards. We reached out to ********, office personnel, ************ for help and sent her several pictures, proving the various issues... the screen had depressions and wrinkles because it wasn't stretched properly, also, tears in the screen where bugs were easily entering. Rubber spline was not properly seated in the frame, left to dry rot. There were jagged edges left around the doorway, not filed down, leaving us with serious safety issues, as well, plus a caulking issue. There after, two installers, *******, himself, and a man named *** came to rectify the problems a total of four time. Still did not resolve the problem at hand. ***** *********, manager of these installers was contacted ************. At this point the situation remained unresolved, because the 795 caulk was not put under the bottom of the threshold as promised, leading to an infestation of bugs in our bugproof enclosed screen porch area. (ex Asian beetles, ants, mosquitoes, stink bugs). We realized that ***** ********* was unable to rectify the situation, coupled with the fact that we'd lost confidence in his installers. At this point we reached out to his supervisor, ******* ****, Nashville ************ in December 2024. Both my husband and I talked to him in detail about our horrible experience with this company. We came to an agreement, being that ******* **** would send someone out to our property with a compensation check of $500.00 which he came up with the number saying it was fair and 3 tubes of 795 Caulk for my husband to do the work himself.
It's been months and ******* **** not only did not honor the agreement that the three of us made, to our greatest disappointment with Great day Improvements, ******* **** will not answer our calls or text messages. He has completely left us in the dust. This company took our money $7723.88 and left us with a faulty product. We feel cheated in every way. Specially after making an agreement of compensation with ******* for all our troubles and us actually finishing the job ourselves. All Empty Promises! Beware of this company. Please help us!

We regret that your experience has not met expectations and appreciate your patience as we worked to address your concerns. We have addressed all service issues brought to our attention and have explained the screen rooms are not guaranteed to keep all forms of insects, but rather are designed to inhibit the egress of flying insects such as mosquitoes, house flies, bees and wasps. We do not guarantee that no insects can penetrate the barrier. Regarding your request to caulk the bottom expanders, we’ve advised that doing so would interfere with proper drainage and could cause water-related issues. However, as discussed, ******* committed to providing a $500 gift card and caulk for you to apply at your discretion. We understand your frustration and will ensure ******* follows up to arrange delivery of the agreed-upon items. Thank you.

Also, promised, was a day and time of drop off to make certain I'm home to accept the check and 3 tubes.Business Response

On Thurs, Feb 6, 2025 at 2p, your sales rep **** **** came out and assured me that your company would build onto EXISTING ROOF LINE. Contract signed 3:44p. I am a senior citizen, on a fixed income and only recently widowed and had to provide my Bank ACH. Your sales rep also assured me that I'd be notified prior to any withdrawal. On Monday, 2/10/25, my bank was deducted $5,481.22 which was only 2nd Business Day. Interesting that when ******* ********, "Customer Advocate" called and apologized that the job's final measurement person, *****, couldn't make it out until Tuesday, Feb. 11th. ***** wasn't here 2-3 minutes, and he tells me I have to completely cut out my roof line to 7 feet. I was aghast as that I had been misinformed by **** plus that type of extra work was NOT part of my budget! ***** advised he would notify home office this project would be a NO BUILD (not my verbiage so I asked what that meant). ***** advised would let the home office know the project would be cancelled. On Wednesday, Feb. 12, after not receiving any further calls/text from your organization, I called ******* who was not aware, then simultaneously, **** calls and said "*****" said my roofer had cancelled!!! This is a lie. I want my $5,481.22 refunded immediately. I have already consulted my attorney who advised we'd go to small claims court if I continue to be ignored. See attached.Business Response

We understand your frustration and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation. Our agreement has always been to enclose the space once your third-party roofer establishes the necessary overhang. We remain committed to fulfilling the project as outlined in the contract.
We have provided the option to either move forward with construction as agreed or cancel the project, with the initial down payment withheld to cover incurred costs. Please let us know how you'd like to proceed, and we will act accordingly.- The Great Day Improvements Team

I am rejecting this response because: #1. 02/06/25 Your salesman told me the existing roofline 6.5 ft. would be utilized; #2. 02/10/25 Your company took the initial deposit on 2nd business day; #3. 02/07/25 Your company advised final measurement employee unable to be out until afternoon on 3rd business day; #4. 02/11/25 Your final measurement person told me the project would be reported as cancelled due to need to cut out my roofline 7 ft. high which was not agreed upon (he did NOT advise of "formal" process; #5. 02/12/25 Your "customer advocate" nor anyone on the email chain did not respond to my email to confirm the cancellation; #6. 02/12/25 Salesman called and stated he was told I didn't have a roofer which was a lie (roofers are all over this community); #7. 02/13/25 I called my "customer advocate" who deflected and told me to call salesman. I called and left him a VM and texted and was ignored by your company; #8. 02/14/25 looked up your HQ and listed CEO ******* *** and sent Certified Letter (which unfortunately was held up for a month by USPS); #9. 02/26/25 Your "customer advocate" called me at 10:25a as**** about the job. I had to remind her of this fiasco and horrible communication and lack of customer service, and she advised would look into it and get back to me. Based on her/your prior lack of communications, I sent the email chain copy of letter I sent to your CEO. Then and only then your Regional Sales Manager reached out via email but like you, are completely missing the issue (****** deposit on 2nd business day, employees lying and dodging responsibility). Your Regional Sales Manager also told me it was TOO LATE to turn in the "cancellation form". Now that you are continuing this circular narrative, I will be filing with Small Claims court this week.

I recently bought a house that was supposed to have a door and lock fixed from stanek windows. However it was not done prior to me moving in as expected. The previous owner had put in a request and stanek windows sent someone out who thought that the they were asking for a new door when it was just the glass panel and the lock complex that needed to be replaced, so nothing was done at that point. Then another order was put in and when I got the house I was given the name of someone to contact through the *********** office as well as the person who was supposed to install the items. I contacted the man for the installation a few times and was given one response that things were going to take 2 to 3 weeks for tge items to come in. And it had to be above 25° in order to install. So I waited several weeks and was in communication through email with the lady from ***********. However, she stopped returning my emails a couple weeks ago. And I attempted to call the previous man regarding the installation with no response. I have called the *********** and Ohio offices several times leaving voicemails with no return phone calls. Last week, a man called me from my local area saying that he was going to take care of the situation and look into everything and made it sound like he was going to come out Tuesday afternoon and take care of the job as he put it.However, he was called away and another man came out and he was told he was only doing an assessment. I have had no responses after the last man told me he would look into it and to contact the second man I dealt with since the third man was not from this area. These windows are not mine by choice, as they came with the house. But I can honestly tell you, based on the fact that this has been ongoing since December 2024 and nothing has been done and several things have been done either incorrectly or not followed up on by several people is incredibly frustrating.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.Two men did come by today and fix the window, lock and screens.
I am still waiting for responses from my original email contact and another man who called in relation to my question on the warranty issue as another man told me it is no longer available since Stanek was bought. When I asked him about it I was told customers were not informed of this change that occurred in 2013. I'm assuming this is legal which is unfortunate, especially since this house was to come with a 10 year year guaranty on the windows and no one informed me it no longer exists until this past Monday after my complaint despite having conversations about me sending the paperwork in for the guaranty.Initial Complaint

I purchased a three season room from Patio Enclosures in (***********) and according to the contract the sunroom warranty is to cover the repair of the materials etc. for the lifetime of the product. Moreover, the repairs/replacment is to be completed by patio enclosures to ensure the warranty is intact. It appears that patio enclosures have independent contractors that are meeting the demands in the local area that are contracted to make repairs to their product. I have contacted the local contractor for a few years now and every time it has been next to impossible to receive the service/warranty for service that was part of the contractual agreement when I purchased the *******. Recently, after multiple emails, I was finally able to get in contact with someone that committed to coming out to my home and replacing or repairing the screen door to my sunroom. I received the confirmation of the date and time and the tech never showed up or called to say he was not coming nor to rechedule. This is completely unacceptable for such a minor repair. It leads me to beleive if there was something major they I would be completely out of luck. Buyer need to be informed of this treatment and service in ***********, *****. If the contractor is unable to meet the contractual obligations. Please find another that will, you company name is being flagged for poor service in my neighborhood. You are losing business.Business Response

I have broken seals on three windows purchased thru Stanek, now Greatday Improvements. I have been dealing with their customer service since Sept. 2024. In December 2024, the windows were finally measured after which I was told it would be 6 to 8 weeks wait for installation. I have emailed repeatedly but no response. All I want are the window panes replaced as they committed to do.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
They. Stated the glass would be available or install on March 12th and an installer would call to install March 13 or 14. No call received regarding install. All I still is the glass replacements. I think six months is long enough to solve their internal problems.
If they say they will follow-up, they should DO IT.

I am rejecting this response because:
An appointment was made to install the glass but no call/ no show. I called to complain and they rescheduled for Monday, March. 17 ,arrived two hours late. After waiting six months and having the glass measured by Greatday in December,,all the glass was the wrong size.
They have now supposedly reordered the three window panes. The estimated is another 8 to 8 weeks for the arrival of the glass.I just want the correct glass and to have installed without waiting another six months.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I do not have any confidence I will receive the correct glass and then have it installed. I will be satisfied when the glass is installed. Hopefully I will have some communication on this in April.
