1 starI have had a macys card for years, and all of a sudden I’m not getting my monthly statements. Macys has waived the late fees, but my minimum monthly payment is higher than what it normally is, even after waiving the late fees. When you pay your bill every month, your balance goes down. This is the only place where the minimum payment increases, that makes no sense, they can’t even explain it to me why it’s higher, it makes no sense, their customer services stinks, and the fact that they can’t explain it says a lot about how they’re cheating their customers out of hundreds or thousands of dollars. This way of getting customers to pay more than they have to needs to be looked into. It’s no way that your payment should go up, if the late fees has been waived, not another store has this kind of logic! When you pay your bill it should go down, not up. Macys is cheating their customers, and I bet most of us have no idea its happening!Review fromCourtney O

1 starI want to start by saying that I’ve always been a loyal Macy’s shopper. I have the card, and so do my family members. I regularly come here to purchase perfume, dresses, and more. Today, I noticed they were having a great jewelry sale (though in hindsight, I should have known). ?? My sister and I spent about 10 minutes browsing and found a couple of pieces we liked. As we continued to shop, a sales associate approached us and offered to hold our items. We politely declined, saying we were heading to look at dresses. She insisted, stating she’d hold them and would personally assist us with checkout. At this point, I started feeling uneasy, but we handed over the jewelry and went to look at dresses for another 15 minutes.
I found a dress for an event I have tonight, but by then, I was feeling pretty uncomfortable and just wanted to leave. When we returned to where the associate said she’d be, she was nowhere in sight. We ended up going back to the jewelry section, picking up the same items, and checking out at a different counter. To top it all off, two loss prevention officers were stationed near the front of the store, clearly watching us, though they didn’t say anything.??
Other people were browsing jewelry just like we were, so I can’t help but feel we were unfairly targeted. Macy’s, if this is such a concern, maybe consider offering baskets like ******* does when they profile lol. I’m sad because there was a perfume rep that I really liked and had plans to buy from him in December. I have anxiety and now every time i visit, I will remember and experience the same anxiety. Perhaps I should just stick to buying stuff online. I just wanted to shop in peace. Thank youuuuu ??Review fromBruce L

1 starAlthough a different type of review, this one demonstrates how people can be the coldest and most cruel...
I have been unemployed for over 2 years which cause some of my credit accounts to go into default - this is circumstance beyond my control. At age 55, I have faced MANY potential employer's "ageism" and age discrimination which is the primary reason I maintain a constant struggle to find work.
That being said, Macy's tacked on charges and fees inflating my debt, pushed it to a collection agency, closed my account and now I'm in small claims court because of it.
This has to be the lowest form of a human being that exists - Just when I'm at one of my lowest points in life, I get kicked in the teeth by Macy's with their action to collect this debit.
THEY DISGUST ME! Thanks for being SO understanding of someone's plight despite the fact this is a circumstance beyond my control while I battle employment issues due to my age.....NOT!Review fromLauren W

1 starThey sent me the wrong item. I’m required to go to UPS and ship it back in order to be refunded? I said I have other items to return and they said I had to package them separately. They then said an item was last act and that I can’t return it. I told them several times it’s not last act. They also sent me a return request/shipping label for the full order including an item I hadn’t received yet. After speaking to 2 people, they transferred me to supervisor who said it’s last act in “their” system but when he looks at the website he sees it’s not last act….
Supervisor said company representatives below supervisor level don’t have access to the website. I said that seems kinda silly to task them with returns but they don’t have access to the website. He didn’t like that.
He was rude, and I won’t shop with them again. Too much grief for their mistake. Very tacky.
As an FYI, the more I questioned him about their policies, the more it became clear to me the it is both a competency and attitude issue.Review fromRyan F

1 starDo NOT buy furniture from Macy’s. I spent $3400 on a large sectional couch at the beginning of July. It was delivered September 20th, almost 10 weeks after it was purchased and to make matters worse it was delivered broken.
Upon calling Macy’s customer service 4 days after receiving the broken couch I was told that they needed to send a “technician” to confirm that the couch was broken. I was told that they would receive the technicians report the following day and that Macy’s would call me to schedule a replacement.
Two weeks later I still have not heard from Macys so I called customer service again, only to be told that they never received the report and they neglected to follow up at all. They said someone would call me in another 2-3 weeks to schedule a replacement, which would take another “7-9 weeks”.
Macy’s shipped a $3400 couch knowing that it was broken and they have don’t absolutely nothing to help rectify this situation. I will never spend another dollar at Macy’s. Buyer beware.Review fromKIMBERLY H

1 starThere is a great reason why Macy's business is tanking and stores are closing everywhere, ethics. This company operates in a very deceitful manner. For example, they do not mark an item is not returnable until after you place the order and once the confirmation email is sent, only will it state that. What is the purpose in alerting the customer that the items purchased are not returnable after the order is placed? Why can't they be like other retailers and are transparent about this from the start?Buyer beware!Review fromMaria T

1 starI along with the rest of the customer rate them 0. I’ve had some of the same issues so I closed the card. They were also jacking up the rate again and I’ve been paying two interest rates on it years. Come to find out macys got revenge by marking my credit report closed at consumer instead of account holder. I thought it was an error but no they won’t remove it . There is also a man named Joseph ***** who is in their corporate office who has lied to the BBB about everything . He literally started our one and only conversation by yelling at me and continued throughout the conversation! I literaally just ask for what by law is incorrect and for stays to be changed. I also asked for all calls to representatives be brought up as proof and of course he said he listened to all calls. That’s over 10 calls you listened to and didn’t hear anything that stated I wanted to close an acct or maybe the email and letters you sent that states it don’t apply? I’ve now gotten the Bbb and the credit bureaus involved to make it right!! I’ve never not closed a acct personally. Imagine - no other company has retaliated (like this when you tell them I can’t afford your interest rates hikes and extremely awful customer service!! I also asked them in the first call in July to change my rate to lower rate and they said no one is getting a lower rate!! They are literally breaking all consumer/ credit laws and retaliating if you don’t want to pay their 36% interest rate. I just close a card and the other company(*****) didn’t do this. Beware and don’t ever get a Macy card. Just walk past the store!Review fromLorena W

1 starOn September 6, 2024, I called Macy’s credit department to ask for a credit balance refund. I was told my balance was $106.25. I’ve called numerous times since then and I have still not received my refund. I had one representative that hung up on me and they call me a platinum member. I called on 9/18 to follow up about my check because funds were not on the account. I was told by a supervisor that he had to submit a request to the back office to research what happened to the $106.25. At this point I had another credit on my account due to returns on my account. I had a credit balance of $165.60, I was told I could not have a refund. I was only allowed to have a certain number of refund checks mailed to me within six months. I think this is a violation of my rights. I returned the merchandise, I have money owed to me. I was told I had to wait until January 2025 to get my credit balance refund check. I was told that my refund for $165.60, was mailed to me on 10/1 but I am still showing the credit balance on my account. I am unable to get my point across because the representatives have a hard time understanding English. I am very disappointed in the customer service I receive from the credit card department at Macy’s. **** ****** *****Review fromBarbara B

1 starI purchased an *** purse yesterday. I removed the tags and transferred some of my things to the purse. I never used the purse. Less than 24 hours later I tried to return it. I brought the tag with me and it was unattached I also left a few items in the purse by mistake. I was told they would not take it back without the tag attached and they accused me of using the purse which I did not. I have never encountered a situation where I could not return something because the tag was not attached. How am I supposed to attach it? Finally they gave me a credit to purchase another purse. I am presently waiting for the store manager to call me regarding this matter. I spend a lot of money in Macy’s every year but I will be rethinking this. It is far easier to deal with ****** or ****** where returns are not a problem.
