I’ve been overpaying for auto insurance with progressive for a long time now. Part of this was my fault as I was not specifying the coverage I needed correctly (ignorance). This is about PIP. I live in Detroit and I have a 2015 Chrysler 200. I was paying $635 a month for full coverage (comprehensive). In September it was time to renew, and my coverage premium went up to $713. I called in to look into why I’m paying so much and PIP was my issue. I was told that if I excluded pip coverage for those in my household that had qualifying medical insurance my payment would reduce dramatically. I did what I was told by multiple agents (spoke to multiple agents as some appeared to not know what they were doing). I called one time and an agent took me off automatic draft to process a payment that would reflect the changes I thought I already made in the amount of $450 (as their system was still showing I needed to pay $713). The agent assured me if I paid the $450, the system would update as underwriters for my policy still needed more time to process the PIP changes (wasn’t told I needed to submit docs nor was I sent docs to fill out and send back in and I was under the impression everything had been done correctly already and so was the agent). After processing the payments I again checked my policy for updated premium payment amount and it wasn’t there. I called in again and was told I was still liable for the $294 balance or my policy would be cancelled. The agent filled out the docs again and sent them to me and I signed and sent them in again. I also had to upload medical coverage proof AGAIN!!!! for the PIP exclusions I was trying to make. In the end, I was told I won’t be refunded the amount I didn’t need coverage for even though I provided proof that I didn’t need the coverage and I’m currently on the phone with them as I still see the premium that doesn’t include the policy changes for PIP exclusions I submitted ($713). This has been a month long back and fourth

After receiving an extremely high monthly rate, I volunteered to complete the snapshot program offered by Progressive. Once completed, I received a confirmation email stating “congratulations on my savings”. I was extremely happy to reive that due to the high rates I was paying was not affordable. I immediately checked my account only to find out that my rate went up instead of down. I spoke to a representative which resulted in total confusion. The representative continued to state that my cost savings was applied and the rise in my bill was due to me not being on the snapshot program. That was fun but when asked what was my cost savings for being part of the program, I was told $25. I informed the employee that the email sent for completing their program was $152. That would mean a decrease in my bill even when the $25 is added back to my rate. 1 hour of reexplaining basic math resulted in me having to look for a new company. Absolutely horrible business ethics. A client takes part in a company sponsored program that gives out personal information in hopes for a much needed discount ONLY resulted in my rate to increase.

They steal your money and cancel your policy without notice. I had confirmed my policy multiple times via phone, email, and letter. For whatever reason, after confirming, they cancelled my policy and did not give me a call. When I called Progressive, they were rude and did not reinstate my policy. They did not take any accountability for their wrong doings, or fraudulent practices.

My 2016 Chevy Silverado with 40,000 miles on it sustained moderate damage due to hurricane Ian here in Fla called my insurance the very next morning at 8am to file a claim. Brought my vehicle to body shop the next morning and it has been sitting at body shop and has not been looked at by a adjuster nor have I had anyone with progressive answer my calls or call me
Back after several emails, texts and phone calls including to my adjuster Coral Ward. Today I spoke with a very nice guy who I will not mention his name who told me that because I did not have rental car insurance on my policy because I own other cars that my claim would be pushed back even when I filed mine days earlier then most because they lose more money having to pay for the rentals everyday the damaged vehicle sits at the body shop!! Pretty unethical if you ask me and I will be canceling my policy once claim is paid out as well as filing a complaint with the insurance commissioners
Office and I highly recommend anyone else who has this or similar problems with progressive to call and file a complaint with the BBB and the insurance commissioners office! Progressive lost my business that is for sure!!

Progressive filed 3 claims for one incident against my wife and I in April of 2019. This caused our insurance premiums to increase drastically. We did not know at the time that they did this to us! Progressive representatives as so inept they kept referring to my driving record, but not my wife's who had the duplicate false claims. They supposedly took action to finally remove the erroneous claims from my wife's driving history on October 6, 2022. However, they are doing nothing to make right the policy premium increase paid over the years for having three claims, in theory, between our two driving records! The last representative kept insulting me by repeating a traffic violation over and over again on my driving record, but confessed she cannot see my wife's record which caused the issue at hand! I even told the representative to stop repeating herself over and over again as this was not the issue I was referring to! Progressive is full of unprofessional and belittling individuals. I will never do business with them again!

      ABSOLUTE CROOKS $$$$
Never notified me of correct details of documents needed for policy.
They left me unaware and now I have my FIRST insurance lapse AND have to pay more.
Why provide good customer service and let your customers know when you can let them have a lapse on their record and get more money out of them!!!
Definitely took my money elsewhere and will never give them another cent.

Progressive just renewed my auto policy. And added two drivers to it. I did not ask them to do this they did this on their own. Which raise my monthly payment to $320 a month. In my book this is a dishonest disgusting thing to do to one of your customers.
