We started this project around Sept. They claim to measure twice, so when ordering the product, there are no delays. There were delays—w***g-size windows, missing screens, and shipments not arriving on time, to name a few. We worked with the company even though we were losing time at work when they were no-shows. They claimed to have finished the work and were waiting for their final payment. We discovered water pooled on the interior window tracks and refused to pay the final $3000 until the p***lem was corrected. They initially declined to send workers to the site because we didn't pay, and once we paid, it would activate our warranty. They also claimed it was designed to pool water, but slipped up and stated on the exterior track. After their slip-up, they sent workers finally to assess that p***lem. On January 9th, we had an all-day rain. Rain was coming in from above the one window, in the window tracks, through the brick, by the door, on the one side of our porch.
I sent photos, and after much persistence - they sent two workers to assess the p***lem. The p***lem continued as it rained. This is their response to me regarding the p***lem -"I have spoke with **** (Lead Installer) and *** (Field Supervisor) and received various pictures of the foundation. The guys said that water is infiltrating your overhang as well as the joints of the existing knee wall. These items are not covered under the warranty and they’re not GDI responsibility. I have attached a copy of the signed contract for your viewing. If you would like recommendations for companies that handle repointing, I may be able to find you some."Business Response

We are so sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with the
service you received. We are an upstanding company that stands behind our
finished products. Our team did come out and assess your situation. It was
determined that your clogged gutters and issues with the mortar on the existing
structure were to blame for the water intrusions. We do not give a warranty on
any existing structure, and this is in your signed contract. This problem was
there prior to us installing and was not noticed as the floor would be wet from
rain since you did not have any doors/windows in the room previously. We are
more than willing to help you find someone to help correct your issues. Please let us know if we can be of any more
assistance or you can contact *** directly. Thank you for
reaching out, we use every review as a way to improve our customer experience.
The Great Day Improvements TeamCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: how do I know for certain that when they installed the windows the drilling into the brick foundation didn't damage the foundation/mortar causing the water to leak onto the porch. Also being experts in the industry, why wouldn't a company recommend proactive measures? I can't be the first or last customer who would experience this issue. If the company knew in advance what might go w***g, they should have made recommendation to the consumer in best practices to ensure customer satisfaction. When their employees came out to assess the issue, they made comments regarding caulking concerns and reassure me that they would be able to do repairs after they spoke with their supervisor. Therefore, you can understand my disappoint with this response. Nothing is covered by their warranty. My interior window frames are still pooling water even after additional weep holes were installed to correct this issue. I am wondering how much longer it will be before we experience more problems. The area on the ceiling that they are claiming is leaking do to clogged gutters could also have been compromised when the installed the window frames. They climbed up on a ladder and removed a handful of leaves. My mistake was not recording our conversation when they came out to assess the situation.Business Response

We
understand your concerns and frustration with the situation you're
experiencing. However, after investigating the issues with your
windows and the water leakage onto your porch, we've determined that the root
cause lies in pre-existing conditions such as issues with your gutters and
missing mortar on your existing structure. As a company, we don't warrant
existing structures, and unfortunately, these issues fall outside the scope of
our responsibility. Regarding your speculation about the installation
process potentially causing damage to the foundation or mortar, we assure you
that our installation procedures adhere to industry standards and prioritize
the integrity of your property. While we acknowledge that unforeseen issues can
arise, our technicians are trained to minimize any potential risks during the
installation process. If we had known there would be issues caused by installing
the sunroom on your existing structure, we would have addressed those
concerns prior to the installation. Attached is a copy of the warranty we
provide. Thank you for reaching out.

I have had difficulty filing my response. I continually receive the error message. I would like my voice and complaint heard.
I am rejecting this response because: They are just providing me with lip service. I still have water pooling in the interior window panes which is not a special design feature. Even after installing additional weep holes, they have not corrected the problem and I may be facing additional problems in the future. I also have no proof that their installation met industry standards. I don't believe that industry standards for installing sunrooms include the possibility of an unwanted indoor swimming pool in a finished room. I understand that problems may arise and contingency plans may need to be in place. Great Day Improvements also acknowledged that they are aware that problems may arise in their response to me, but they have no plans in place to rectify the problem except to place the blame on the homeowners and to wash their hands of the problems. When they sold the work to us, they were all rainbows and unicorns and now I understand why. They were seeing the future where they were stealing my pot of gold and leaving me with problems to address on my own. I am frustrated and disappointed. Hopefully, the white stuff growing on my bricks is not mold. If I was told in advance that it was recommended for me to have my bricks pointed, I was at least given the opportunity to make my own decision. If I had to have my bricks repointed prior to the sunroom installation, I can understand why Great Day Improvements might not have wanted to share that information with me because I might not have been financially able to afford both projects and they didn't want to have the misfortune of missing out on a contract. That is shady from my perspective. Now, I may not have an option. I don't think crippling the consumer is best customer service practices. I don't feel that these are practice that the Better Business Bureau hopes to promote. Great Day Improvements doesn't provide the consumers with Great Customer Service. Nothing is covered under the warranty. Honesty is the best policy.

I purchased a "4 season's sun room" from patio enclosures in April 2021. They have consistently been late on building and completing my project. The entire process took longer than a Year. Following this I have had difficulty with the room, causing horrible condensation and leaks. This is especially problematic in the winter. Our framing is covered in ice, which when melts drips all over the room causing flood damage. The company has kept us in the dark about the sunroom. I was reassured it would work fine in the winter. Only to be told 2 years later, that this is a 3 season room, and me heating the room is causing condensation because I am using a gas fireplace. I have since started using a space heater to heat the space, without any change.
Winter 2022 Great day improvements, purchased a dehumidifier for my sunroom, to help. This did not solve any problem. Then Spring 2023 they took the dehumidifier away, and brought in an industrial size dehumidifier, which was odorous, and worked worse than the initial home humidifier.
The staff came in a week later and took the the dehumidifier away. I was told that I would be contacted by the company, AS they needed to replace windows to our doors due to the ice build up and a seal being broken. I have not heard from anyone since.
It is now January 2024, temperatures are low, my sunroom is an icebox, that constantly fluctuates in temperatures causing frosting /freezing and flooding. I am extremely concerned about mold and health and safety of my family.
I am requesting help in reaching out to this company, to either get a refund, or build us the 4 seasons room we deserve at no additional cost to me. This was promised by their employee at the time of purchase. I am extremely frustrated for myself, my family as well as the future consumers of this company. This is a misleading company, and after spending so much time and money, I feel and am SCAMMED!Business Response

We
sincerely apologize for your experience not being what we would hope for and
the miscommunication with your sales rep (who is no longer with the company). A
3 seasons room is not meant to be used year-round. In warmer climates this room
can be used year-round but in NE Ohio that is not always possible. Condensation
is being cause by high humidity levels in your home and in the winter this
needs to be kept to a minimum. We do acknowledge that
there were delays in your room's completion. We do our best to finish every
project as quickly and efficiently as possible. We
apologize that we missed the mark this time on completion, but we stand behind
our finished product. Our
records indicate the glass with seal failure has been replaced and all services
have been completed. Someone from your local branch will be reaching out to you
to discuss any further concerns that you have.

I ordered this 3 seasons room in 2021 upon final approval it did not get approved by the village. In the meantime I have been trying to get them to repair leaking windows. They would only put a step when you go outside. I had to fight with them to get it resolved. One of the windows is leaking and now almost all of the windows are leaking, They tried telling me it was because the room was too small, if that's the case they should have told me. I don;t know how many times I've tried to get a hold of them. They won't respond to me. I'm pshysically disabled and my daughter is mental disabled.Business Response

I entered into Contract (#*****) with Great Day Improvements/ Patio Enclosures for a 3 Season Room in September 2021. I am told because of a backlog in "supply chain". the materials, for the building of the room, were delayed in arriving. The actual work did not begin until the summer of 2022. Upon completion of the room and with the first rain storm after that, August 19, 2022, I sent an email that the room was leaking. I am willing to provide the emails and texts to support this complaint. It was about 2 weeks before someone came out to check out the leak. After I was told sealant was added and this would not happen again. I had flooring installed and the leakage has continued. It has been over a year that I have been asking the Company to replace the roofing. While they have sent workers out on four different occassion, to no avail. The leaking continues. For the past month, I have reached out and no response. I was told, via text, that my complaint had been sent up to supervisor. I do not have names of supervisors only person that I have text messages with. I can share the photos, text messages, and emails. I would like the roof replaced and the leaking to stop. It is ruining my furniture and floors. I do not know how to get the Company to respond. As a matter of fact, I was doulble charged for a payment which caused a riffle effect in my checking account. The funds ($16000) was repaced but not any restitution for the checks that were returned as a result of an error on the Company's part. I was feeling uncomfortable about the project prior to them getting started. I wrote an email and spoke to the District Manager about not going through with the project. I was told that the materials had been ordered and I could not break the contract. This is only a few of the issues I had with the Company. I am willing to give other additional information, if needed.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: While this is an appropriate response, it appears to be a general response and not specifically addressing my concern. My specific complaint is that the space is leaking. I have been dealing with this since the installation. I contacted the Better Business Bureau because responses from the Company stopped.
I was contacted after filing the complaint and given an appointment for January 29 (between 10AM and 1PM). This is more than two and a half weeks out. When I asked if the appointment could be sooner, I was told that the field supervisor had other appointments. I asked, in my complaint that the repair be done. Whatever it takes for that to happen. Everytime it rains, the room is flooded. I sent photos of this to the Company. I understand the delay in beginning the Project, I mentioned this in order to set the context for the problems I have had since the beginning.

I am rejecting this response because: I am looking forward to the field supervisor's review of the leakage in my 3 season room. I do hope that the supervisor has the opportunity to review the text messages, emails, photos and all the documents prior to the appointment. The photos, for example, show that the leakage is not only from the roof but throughout the room. Prior review will help us all be on the same page during the appointment. I am sincerely hoping for this to end with a fair resolution.

Patio enclosure was done on 11/27/23. They did not complete the job as the failed to put weatherstripping at the base of the door, placed the door handle at an inaccessible height, and left a gap between door frame and floor. Numerous requests were made to have these issues corrected since they required final payment before job was complete. First request was placed on date of service 11/27. This was a contract to remove a hail damaged awning and install a new awning. The contract details are attached. The contract was to use existing concrete piers for the new support columns. Instead of using a partial bag of pre-mix concrete to set the new posts, the new posts were set on the existing concrete with concrete fastners, a photo is attached. Also, the contract stated I did not agree to drafting my checking account for payments. I sent checks as needed until the job crew arrived. After the crew left, not finishing the contracted project, my checking account was drafted twice to complete the payment. The contract states there were to be gutters and downspouts installed. They were not installed. The Company took my money, did not finish the job and they did a poor installation. I want the support posts installed properly in concrete and I want the gutters and downspouts installed per the contract.Business Response

Patio Enclosures installed my parent’s patio enclosure about 11 years ago. The inside pane of one of the upper trapezoidal windows fractured. The glass is roughly 76”x32” on the higher side. The installation has a lifetime warranty. We originally contacted the business by sending an email on 9/15/23. We followed up with another message on 9/19 and 9/21 and voicemails. On 9/22, they requested pictures and a copy of the warranty which we provided. On 9/28 they responded with “we are still working on getting your service request up and running”. After multiple follow ups and dates they provided to fix the issue, as of 12/13, almost three months later, they have yet to replace the fractured window. I left another voicemail for them today (12/13) around noon but did not hear back as of 6:30pm. Note that, if the outside pane also shatters, there is potentially a risk of injury to people inside or outside the patio due to falling glass, and/or risk of damage to personal property due to rain/snow/wind getting into the patio. On 12/9, when we asked them to confirm when they would be arriving to replace the window, they replied on 12/11 with: “I just found out the installer was injured and was not able to work on Saturday. I am waiting on The Install Supervisor to update on the status of him and the schedule. We will be in touch soon with a new date. I really apologize for the schedule change. We are absolutely not pushing you aside. The schedule due to the weather has changed dramatically multiple times and crew availability has been an issue as well. Every current build and service has been affected by these unanticipated situations. We do ask for your flexibility during this time we will do our best to keep you informed.”Customer Answer
Date: 12/17/2023
On 12/14, they informed us “I apologize for the delay. After speaking with the supervisor, we will reschedule you for Saturday 12/16/23 between 8-10” but yet again, on 12/15, we were informed “I just spoke to the installers and they want this Saturday off. I must move you to Monday 12/18/23. You are the only thing on the calendar. They will be onsite between 8-10.”Business Response

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the
delays in completing your parent’s service. We understand and share your
frustration. The glass that needs replaced is very large and heavy. We need
more than 1 person to be able to safely replace the glass. The situation is
truly a capacity issue, and we are trying our best to get to every customer as
soon as possible. ******* has been in touch with your parent’s, and we are
anticipating on having the glass replaced this week. Thank you for reaching out, we use every

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me as long as the appointment is not canceled yet again without advanced notice and, if so, rescheduled quickly to avoid any further delays.Initial Complaint

. My sunroom was completed sometime in November 2023. I was left with a pile of dirt on a little hill with 2 small pieces of wood to step on to enter and exit from ONE door leading to outside. I have2 doors but after my first complaint, a sloppy concrete slab was add in front of door #1. Leaving #2 unavailable to use if I don’t want a lawsuit against me. It’s very frustrating and dangerous. . Oh wait ******* from the Company suggested I plant flowers or call my salesperson to get a quote on concrete. My backyard is flat - I was not told that a hill will prevent me from entering or existing safely to my sunroom. I paid too much money not to have my ending result satisfactory with proper and a safe way to enter and exit without fear of falling.Business Response

A window patio enclosure was purchased in late August 2023. I have had numerous delays and excuses for the job not being completed as of Dec 2023. They have torn out my back porch and sent the wrong color windows, that clearly stated on the contract what color was chosen. They have called in early October and said they were having delivery problems. They are not returning my calls or given me any date on when the windows will be installed. This has been a nightmare. Poor communication, broken promises, sloppy paperwork.Business Response
