I recently bought a house that was supposed to have a door and lock fixed from stanek windows. However it was not done prior to me moving in as expected. The previous owner had put in a request and stanek windows sent someone out who thought that the they were asking for a new door when it was just the glass panel and the lock complex that needed to be replaced, so nothing was done at that point. Then another order was put in and when I got the house I was given the name of someone to contact through the *********** office as well as the person who was supposed to install the items. I contacted the man for the installation a few times and was given one response that things were going to take 2 to 3 weeks for tge items to come in. And it had to be above 25° in order to install. So I waited several weeks and was in communication through email with the lady from ***********. However, she stopped returning my emails a couple weeks ago. And I attempted to call the previous man regarding the installation with no response. I have called the *********** and Ohio offices several times leaving voicemails with no return phone calls. Last week, a man called me from my local area saying that he was going to take care of the situation and look into everything and made it sound like he was going to come out Tuesday afternoon and take care of the job as he put it.However, he was called away and another man came out and he was told he was only doing an assessment. I have had no responses after the last man told me he would look into it and to contact the second man I dealt with since the third man was not from this area.
These windows are not mine by choice, as they came with the house. But I can honestly tell you, based on the fact that this has been ongoing since December 2024 and nothing has been done and several things have been done either incorrectly or not followed up on by several people is incredibly frustrating.Business Response

We truly understand how frustrating delays and miscommunications
can be, and we are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused
you. We are scheduled to provide service on March 6th to replace the patio door
glass, rescreen the patio door, and make an effort to fix the lock bar.
As a gesture of goodwill, we are happy to offer this service at no
cost to you. Please keep in mind that the lock bar is no longer covered under
warranty, and while we will do our utmost to repair it, there is a chance that
we might not be able to. If that’s the case, we will gladly provide you with a
quote for a replacement.
We know that we can’t change what has happened in the past, but we
are genuinely committed to improving your current experience with us. We
aim to show you the exceptional customer service we strive to provide.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.Two men did come by today and fix the window, lock and screens.
I am still waiting for responses from my original email contact and another man who called in relation to my question on the warranty issue as another man told me it is no longer available since Stanek was bought. When I asked him about it I was told customers were not informed of this change that occurred in 2013. I'm assuming this is legal which is unfortunate, especially since this house was to come with a 10 year year guaranty on the windows and no one informed me it no longer exists until this past Monday after my complaint despite having conversations about me sending the paperwork in for the guaranty.Initial Complaint

I purchased a three season room from Patio Enclosures in (***********) and according to the contract the sunroom warranty is to cover the repair of the materials etc. for the lifetime of the product. Moreover, the repairs/replacment is to be completed by patio enclosures to ensure the warranty is intact. It appears that patio enclosures have independent contractors that are meeting the demands in the local area that are contracted to make repairs to their product. I have contacted the local contractor for a few years now and every time it has been next to impossible to receive the service/warranty for service that was part of the contractual agreement when I purchased the *******. Recently, after multiple emails, I was finally able to get in contact with someone that committed to coming out to my home and replacing or repairing the screen door to my sunroom. I received the confirmation of the date and time and the tech never showed up or called to say he was not coming nor to rechedule. This is completely unacceptable for such a minor repair. It leads me to beleive if there was something major they I would be completely out of luck. Buyer need to be informed of this treatment and service in ***********, *****. If the contractor is unable to meet the contractual obligations. Please find another that will, you company name is being flagged for poor service in my neighborhood. You are losing business.Business Response

I have broken seals on three windows purchased thru Stanek, now Greatday Improvements. I have been dealing with their customer service since Sept. 2024. In December 2024, the windows were finally measured after which I was told it would be 6 to 8 weeks wait for installation. I have emailed repeatedly but no response. All I want are the window panes replaced as they committed to do.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
They. Stated the glass would be available or install on March 12th and an installer would call to install March 13 or 14. No call received regarding install. All I still is the glass replacements. I think six months is long enough to solve their internal problems.
If they say they will follow-up, they should DO IT.

I am rejecting this response because:
An appointment was made to install the glass but no call/ no show. I called to complain and they rescheduled for Monday, March. 17 ,arrived two hours late. After waiting six months and having the glass measured by Greatday in December,,all the glass was the wrong size.
They have now supposedly reordered the three window panes. The estimated is another 8 to 8 weeks for the arrival of the glass.I just want the correct glass and to have installed without waiting another six months.Business Response

We recognize that financing terms can be a significant factor in any project, and we strive to ensure all details are clearly presented before moving forward.

Consumer stated this has been ongoing for 2 years. Each time a new crew or person comes out and tries to finish the job. Many times the parts or measurements are incorrect and they have to reorder and come back. Consumer is waiting on the trim for the door to be installed. They reached out to the business and were told they had a meeting and would contact back. The business is aware of what issue still needs addressed. The consumer has not heard back since.

Contract Date 8/14/24 - Work to start 12 to 14 Weeks from date of contract & to be completed 1-3 weeks after commencement. Permit was pulled on 10/22. Project was started on around 11/10. Sub informed us they were done with their work on 12/5 but said they were unable to install doggie door as it did not fit. After further investigation & looking at print, my husband & I noticed that whole room was not built to print. 1) The deck was built 7" higher than drawn. The knee walls measured approx 20" instead of 24" as shown on print. We did not get the tempered glass transform above the sliding door that is noted on print (due to walls being too short). We also noticed that the sun peaks through at at least 4 joints in the walls & joint in sliding door. Instead of having 1 stair as shown on print, they had to build 2 stairs to reach entry way. Due to this change, the stairs are unsafe/awkward. We met with the ***** County Bldg Inspector & he did not approve the final inspection. He failed them on the stairs as they were not built to code & on the skirting around the deck as it hits the ground. This is also against code. Great Day did send someone out to look at issues & he agreed that they need to be fixed. However, it has been now been a month & a half since he was out. Nothing has yet been completed. I called & spoke with ****** from Great Day last week & she said the new panel (for doggie door) would be in on the 5th & she would schedule them to come out on Mon. 2/10 to come out to complete work. I reached out to talk with someone regarding project today 2/5 and the panel came in wrong. Will need to order a new one which has set us back again.Business Response

We understand your frustration and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve these issues. The necessary materials for the repairs have been ordered, and we will contact you as soon as they arrive at our warehouse to schedule the completion of the work. Additionally, we will be providing you with $1,000 in compensation and covering the cost of the panel for the dog door. We remain committed to ensuring your project is completed to your satisfaction and will keep you updated throughout the process. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:
I want to clearly define what I am asking. As for the response regarding the compensation they offered, my husband & I tried to clearly state in our phone conversation with ****** on 1/2. We would accept the room as built (with the corrections as stated before) with a 25% discount of the project price. ****** was polite but seemed to be in a rush to get off the phone. She stated that she would have to talk her boss as they were working on a solution. We did not hear back from ****** so I then sent her an email on 1/13 stating that we were very disappointed & frustrated with how long it was taking them to come up with a solution & we wanted to get this resolved quickly. I then reiterated the conversation we had with ****** on 1/3. ****** responded on 1/15 via text that the are reordering the panel so that the doggie door can be installed. She also said that they were going to fix the stairs & skirting. She said we could go online to look up the T1 and let them know what we choose. I asked that she clarify what she meant by "letting them know what we choose" in regards to the skirting. She said that she would get clarification for me & I still have not heard anything (a month later). We then text ****** a pic on 1/17 of the steps that we would like to have installed since they were higher than we anticipated & are awkward to maneuver. She said she would get back to me. I also followed up with her via text 1/28 about the steps. Again, I have not gotten any input on the pic that we had sent. She said that they were originally going to schedule the work week of 2/10 (before panel came in wrong again) & we didn't understand this as we still did not discuss the steps. On 2/3, I reached out to ****** to have someone call my husband as he had questions before repairs were made. No response. I then found an email for Kevin Farrell (Operations Supervisor) stating that we were originally working with ****** to ger our project wrapped up. I explained that ****** said that she was still waiting on her boss to get some answers. I then asked that he please contact my husband as he wanted to discuss the upcoming repairs. He did not respond to me or my husband, instead forwarded my email to ******. This is why we went to the BBB. We can not get anyone to take the time to call us & give us their full attention.Business Response

We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this. As previously stated, we are offering $1,000 in compensation and providing the panel for the dog door. Additionally, our installation supervisor will be on-site to ensure the necessary corrections, including the steps and skirting, are properly addressed. Regarding the discount request, we understand your concerns; however, we must finalize the project as agreed. All materials have been ordered and once they arrive we will reach out to schedule completion. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:
I spoke to ****** yesterday 2/24 over the phone. She assured me that the installation supervisor will be onsite to ensure the necessary corrections are made & addressed properly. She said it should be scheduled the week of March 3rd or March 17th depending when panel is received. I was very pleased to see hear that the project should be wrapped up soon. However, we find the $1,000.00 compensation you are offering unacceptable. 1st of all, we did not receive the window transition over the sliding door (as included in original print & cost of the project) & we should be additional compensated for the additional time this project has taken. This has been a huge inconvenience. As for you providing the panel for the doggie door, you should. We paid for the original panel through a change order that has already been taken from our line of credit/loan thru GreenSky. It was not our fault that the panel was incorrect therefore we should not have to pay for the new panel anyways. We still have not heard about getting the step design we have requested. See attachement. Look forward to getting this project complete ASAP!

We have a patio enclosure sunroom. One of the door panels shattered. We called great day improvements to replace the glass panel. It took several months and 2 tries to get glass replaced. It seems the work person had to bend the door tracks to make the glass panel fit. He did not put the screen back in and now we cant get the screen in. Great Day / Patio Enclosures was hired to enclose a solarium on the back of my home in Feb of 2024.
The contract says the work was to be completed in summer of 2024, but instead is dragging on into January 2025 (current).
The experience has been a nightmare. After paying a $30,000 deposit and a subsequent payment of $16,000, they ghosted us for 2-3 months at a time, even with us following up every week and more often, until we had to threaten legal action, now three times.
Now, they failed to post the third charge on the loan/lender company Green Sky, and due to inactivity, my GreenSky account closed. Since the account closed, Patio Enclosures couldn't post the next charge on my account. Due to this, they stopped service working on the enclosure installation, until I pay.
They can go 4 months without contacting us after I paid $46,000, but after 2 weeks of my account closing due to their own failure, they can stop working on my project and demand I pay the next $30,000 in full before continuing?
Also, due to a setback line on our property, the structure had to be 3ft smaller than originally planned in the CAD drawings. We got ~$10,000 reduced on our payment total from this.
After begging for contact and the updated CAD drawings that illustrated the 3ft decrease, we were never sent the CAD drawings, and work on the property begun anyway.
Upon measuring the structure that actually got built, it is 3.5ft smaller than planned. We're losing another half foot without our knowledge and wasn't agreed upon. If we could have seen the CAD drawing beforehand, we could have caught this. Especially because I am paying for every inch of this.
During installation, they damaged the internet wire twice and lost internet from it.
We've had to beg them to call/email back, and has been the most nightmareish experience I've ever had hiring and has genuinely been a large source of stress on my life for a year.
I want them to complete the structure, and give me my money back.Business Response

We will continue to follow up until we connect and find a resolution. While we've been onsite regularly and in communication throughout the installation, we acknowledge that this process has not met your expectations. That said, in order for work to continue, the account will need to be brought current per the terms of the contract. Our goal remains to complete your solarium as outlined, and we are committed to working with you to move forward.
