      I called the main office of Legal shield about the One and only Kansas office they have and explained to them how the service that the Kansas Attorney was substandard and in return, they canceled my account No reason was given only that they can cancel for any reason

      I signed up for membership on July 27, 2022 and paid $269 (6 months) advance payment even though the payment is month to month. I cancelled my membership in writing on August 16, 2022. They informed me that I should expect my refund in 15 days, when I signed up they did not specify holding the refund, only that it would be pro-rated. I have not received the refund to date. Today they informed me that due to weekends, I should expect my refund to take longer. The reason for my cancellation is because I could not get satisfactory services as promised on sign up. It is unacceptable for any business to hold refunds for that many days especially considering the they get membership dues immediately on sign up. For a firm in the legal arena, it is absolutely appalling. Prospective members should get full disclosure of the refund policy on sign up not after the fact. By this complaint I hope others will be cautious with this business!

      I do not want the membership anymore.They keep taking it out of my account every month leaving it a negative balance.I told them this earlier month and they said they wouldn't take it out..They DID IT AGAIN.MEMBERSHIP#***********

      This is the worst company Ive ever done business with and they work with the absolute worse attorneys!!!!!! I have been trying to get an UNCONTESTED divorce for TWO years and there had been absolutely no movement! I wasnt even married a year yet its taking two years to divorce. No children, no assets, the easiest divorce ever. The attorney doesnt respond to emails for 4-6 months at a time! You heard me 6 months! I constantly have to complain to member services (whom are a joke btw) and the lawyer Attorney Alexandra ************* continuously lies to them every time and tells them she has contacted me several times! Every time I finally get ahold of her after 4-6 months she says oh I had your email address wrong and was sending it to the wrong person. This is literally her excuse EVERY single time! I always give her her the correct email and phone number yet she somehow still ends up sending it yo someone else. Either that or she is flat out lying! Member Services is absolutely no help and ***** from Member Services told me today Theres nothing else we can do because she said she did contact you. Even though ** clearly telling them she didnt! I was told basically they were useless and could do nothing to hold this attorney that they referred me to accountable! So now Im coming after both of them, the attorney and Legal Shield! No one should have to have a divorce drawn out like this! Im canceling my membership and I urged everyone PLEASE DO NOT EVER JOIN!!!! EVER!!! I didnt listen when others warned me and now look! They are horrible and their attorneys are a joke! Give them a F and shut the place down!

      I am a Legalshield member. My contract with Legalshield states they will provide legal assistance within a timely manner. On 4 August 2022 I called into my designated Legalshield attorney's office and began a new case. I was told to email some documents regarding the case and I would hear back from the attorney within three business days.On 12 August 2022 I still had not heard back from the attorney. I reached out to Legalshield customer service and reported the situation. I was told my case needed to be referred to an attorney in WA State, and this would take three business days.To date I have made over eight phone calls to my attorney and the LegalShield customer service. I've spent upwards of 70 minutes on the phone, and it's been over two weeks since I initiated the case which should have been handled WITHIN SIX BUSINESS DAYS.I still have not received ANY correspondence or help regarding the case I submitted to my attorney on 4 August 2022.

      The statements in the company's letter are not accurate.

      I contacted an attorney on August 4th regarding my matter.  I also emailed him the requested documents on August 4th.
      To date (August 22) I have made over one dozen phone calls, several of them made directly to LegalShield customer service, and I have NOT received ANY help for this case.
      It is going on FOUR WEEKS since I initially spoke with an attorney AND sent documents concerning the matter.
      The requested documents were sent on August 4th, nobody is waiting on any documents from me.

      Once again I am requesting a ONE MONTH REFUND for my membership fee, and I am still requesting assistance with my case.

      I initially contacted LegalShield regarding my case on August 4th.  I was told it would take three days to review the documents I emailed, and three days to transfer the case to an out of state attorney.  That's a total of six business days.  
      It's now August 30th, and my issue is still NOT resolved.
      I was told a letter would be sent on my behalf, the letter has not been sent.

      This has hindered my life, as it's taken HOURS away from my day to day activities to deal with LegalShield since they did not provide the service stated in my contract.  

      As previously stated, LegalShield has not provided the service as stated in the contract.  It should not take upwards of four weeks, 15 phone calls, and a BBB complaint to receive service.

      On April 19th, 2022 I contacted this business, Legal Shield to cancel my attorney network services due to unemployment, medical and financial hardships. I spoke with a representative then to cancel. And to stop my authorization for automatic drafts from my credit card account for their monthly services of $37.90.In July I received my credit card statement showing that on June 27th, 2022 that Legsl Shield charged my credit card account for the monthly fee. I at that point contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge as well as I contacted Legal Shield again on 8/9/2022 and got a very rude representative who only gave his name as "SAM" then advised me that he did see that I called in to Legal Shield on April 19th, 2022 to request cancelation at that time due to my hardships, however, the cancelation wasn't confirmed because I didn't send a letter or email additionally at that point to confirm my cancelation. He rudely transferred me to an automated system that gave an email and mailing address to mail correspondence. At that point I sent the email advising their company of my original call in request for cancelation on April 19th, 2022 and of how their representative "***" handled that call very unprofessionally and at that point requested a refund for the $37.90 for the credit charge on June 27th. 2022 to my credit card account. I on August 9th, 2022 received a letter from Legal Shield stating that my membership was NOT paid for in advance and therefore no refund is due. I immediately called there customer service #  1-800-654-7757 and spoke with a representative named Tanasia who said that she reviewed my concerns with a supervisor and that I should dispute with my credit card company, which I have already done.In addition I want to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for review of this company's cancelation policy and charging customers credit cards after they have requested cancelation.       While looking for legal counsel for my daughters child custody case we came across ***** with Legal Shield. She lied and told us that by having legal shield we would receive 25 percent off the retainer fees and 25 percent off hourly rate! She also said that this was for any lawyer that accepted Legal Shield. Well everything she said was a lie! There is one company in ** where my daughter is and they know nothing about the discounts and even said that the Legal Shield rep ***** lied! We received no help, I informed them we aren't going to keep our membership and they still charged my Credit Card for an additional month. This is a complete Scam! Absolutely 100 percent lied to! We have lost precious time not being able to find an actual attorney. This woman is a con artist! The account is charging my husbands credit card and it's in my daughter Aerial ************* name.

      I signed up with Legal Shield to send a letter to someone I was having an issue with. I was told (by recorded call) that if this person retaliates or attempts to sue me I would have 60 hours legal defense cover included. I was specifically told on the call "this would not be considered an existing issue as you are signing up to our service to have the letter written for you". A few weeks later I received a notice that I would need legal representation following this letter and I contacted Legal Shield to provide this. They claimed that this was now considered an existing issue and that the free 60 hours of legal protection would not be provided.This is misrepresentation and misselling. I asked for a copy of the call and they said the only way I am getting it is through a court subpeona. Very dishonest company.

      The business has not provided a transcript of the call proving that they have no record of the issue being considered non-existing. This was specifically mentioned to me and explained to me. What would have been the point of signing up for legal protection otherwise if not to protect me from the issue I'm calling about? What about the minutes of the call where I was told you will receive 60 hours of free legal defense if the other party decides to sue you.

      The business has once again stated incorrectly that I was advised this was a pre-existing matter. It was not and I was specifically told it was not by the phone operator. The fact that the business supposedly has a record of everything discussed on the call but cannot provide a transcript of the call is absurd and proves that the business is lying about the content of the call by hiding the most important fact. Google reviews of Legal Shield and see how many other people have been duped by the company. I will not let this rest. This firm is falsely advertising and mis-selling its services.

      I have paid a monthly fee to this service who send me to a law firm who dodge calls or dont return phone calls as more when you get in to your **** halfway they start to be stand-off.
