I have been getting calls from a debt collector saying I owe $250 to this company. I have never in my life heard of this company before receiving these phone calls. They are saying I got some sort of medical device from the company back in 2020 that cost my insurance $3,000 and that I owe $250 now which is a complete lie. I have never received any type of medical device or equipment. I'm very frustrated with this and have no idea why this is happening. After reading so many other reviews I see that this company is clearly scamming people. The debt collectors will not leave me alone even though I have told them this is not my debt to pay and I am fed up. Philcare medical supplies needs to take care of this.Business Response

Philcare Medical, nor any healthcare provider, cannot discuss your private health information (also referred to as PHI) on a public forum. However, if you would please call our outstanding customer service team, we will be than happy to have one of our Customer Liaison support team experts serve you. Kaila on our team is an experienced team member, and she can be reached directly all day, 9-5 MON-FRI at: XXX-XXX-XXXX. Kaila can send you documentation of our services provided, signed delivery tickets, proof of written doctor orders, insurance company EOB's, and a myriad of other paperwork to document the charges. Keep in mind, as this is a public forum, we are NOT addressing your particular circumstances, but the typical scenario where we help our patients understand the amount they still owe for medical services rendered. All healthcare providers, such as Hospitals, Urgent Care Centers, Physician offices, MRI Centers, Pharmacies, Home Medical Equipment providers (such as we provide) are contractually obligated to collect patient responsibility amounts, including Deductible, Copay, Out of Pocket, co-insurance, and even situations where insurance companies deny claims.(the reasons are way too numerous to mention, they have hundreds and hundreds of reasons, probably thousands of reasons they have created to send a denial) We hope this explanation is helpful and informative, and we look forward to serving you!

I received a letter and call from a debt collector pursuing a $4,000 debt that has absolutely nothing to do with me. I have never done business with Philcare Medical Supplies, live in Maryland (not Arkansas) and have no idea what this company is or why they would be indicating that I owe them money. I have never had an account with Philcare Medical Supplies.Business Response

I received a collection letter for $5995.00 from Capital Accounts LLC referring to Phicare Medical Supplies. I have never received any supplies from this company. I called my doctor for the knee surgery I have in 2018 they informed they never heard of this company nor they requested any supplies, doctor's office also reached out to the surgery center and was advised there was no supplies requested from this company either. My doctor is following up on this with their legal counsel as well. Please investigate this company and this company will need to remove any reporting to credit agencies.Business Response

I was just contacted by a debt collector on behalf of this company for a bill of $7,000. After my spine surgery, the doctor talked to me about a device that would speed up the recovery. My insurance would not cover that device and I told the doctor that I did not want it. Philcare's rep called me twice about a device but I told him both times that we did not want it. They are billing me for something I never received. Tried calling their office and all it says is "the voicemail is full".Business Response

Philcare Medical is not permitted to openly discuss Patient Health Information (PHI) on a public forum. HIPAA laws strictly prohibit this without a signed medical authorization signed by the patient allowing us to share their health records and all details related, including billing, signed delivery tickets by the patient validating receipt of physician ordered medical items, etc. However, we can advise that Kaila, our Patient Service Expert, is available daily from 9-5 to address all patient concerns, and her direct line is XXX-XXX-XXXX Thanks, the Philcare Compliance and Patient Service team.

I received a phone call from Capital Accounts yesterday stating I was in collections from a company called Philcare Medical from a medical device from 2020 at a cost of $7995.
Yes I used a medical device, I looked up EOB from insurance and Philcare was not the company that was now trying to collect from us. We never received a bill from any company prior. We have no debt with anyone. Just trying to figure out if this is a scam.Business Response

Philcare Medical Supplies Inc. sent a bill to a collection agency for a device that was provided to me by the doctor's office. The employee told me that my insurance would cover the cost of the device. I contacted my insurance provider after I received the letter from the collection agency. They were never contacted by Philcare Medical Supplies to submit the claim for approval. I have records from my insurance company that proves Philcare never contacted them for approval. Instead, Philcare sent the collection agency a bill stating that I never paid.Business Response

Philcare Medical Supplies is calling telling me I received medical equipment 2 years ago from a surgery. I in fact did not receive any equipment and the Doctors office has confirmed that. They are now calling me and saying I was contacted and billed previously...again not true. Now they want to send me to collections for almost $4000. Was sent home from surgery on 11/20/2020 with medical equipment from Philcare, as provided by my surgeon. Rec'd a copy of a letter (sent from my insurance) to Philcare indicating pre-authorization was required dated 1/4/2021. According to my insurance, Philcare never responded. I never got a bill. NOW 2 years later, I've been turned over to collection agency for $3,495. This will affect my credit and also - I'll gladly return the equipment as I hardly used it.Business Response

I did speak to them. This is not a violation of HIPPA as we are NOT discussing any health issues- only their lack of getting proper pre-authorization from my insurance for medical equipment I did not request. This is 2 years old and I never received any correspondence/bill from them at the time. I offered to send device back but they would not accept for payment in full. They say the portion of their business that would need to submit proper paperwork to my insurance is no longer in business- only the collection part is in operation. I still do not know what to do or who to contact to get this taken care of. She also stated there was a "middle man" - a medical representative who possibly might be under the name Midwest Medical Reps - but the only one I could find said they did not go to Jefferson City, MO. I do not feel I owe this - they dropped the ball in getting it pre-certified and when I told her my insurance said for them to do it "retroactively " she again stated there was no one there anymore that could do that.
