My icemaker went out in mid-July and was happy to find Airco Service in the appliance repair business. I had worked with them before and had confidence that this was a reputable company. I contacted them and arranged for service repair/estimate visit. I paid my $99 fee and was told that they would replace a water value in the back of my frig. Airco came out on July 29th replaced the water value and advised me that the ice maker was cycling. I should wait 24 hours for the ice bin to fill but I would be operational after that. I immediately paid the $369.20 bill that was presented. Unfortunately, no ice was ever created and there was no sign of the new part working, I called Airco back and they sent out their supervisor/trainer to do more analysis. Curtis came out and advised me that I needed to replace the ice maker. I said ok. He came back in two weeks and tried to install but could not get the connections to work. He would have to go back to the manufacturer for a solution. Two more weeks pass by and Curtis returns to do the identical repair with the same results.. His technical assessment "This dog wont hunt". Back to the manufacturer who now advises that they won't have a solution for a year if they get one at all. I went back to Airco and requested a full refund. They responded by saying they would refund my money for the part but I would have to pay for the installation. I have no idea why they would try and stick the customer with this bill. I rely on the repair company to user stand it's manufactures and suppliers to get the job done. If it's fixed I apy it, if its not I dont. I don't have the expertise to manage their relationships/capabilities, To date Airco has not issued any reund. I assume they hope I go away.Business Response

We came out 7-29 and diagnosed that the issue was the water was not going to the ice maker, which would have been the main resolution. We replaced the water valve and this resolved that issue, and verified the water was now flowing to the ice maker and we advised 24 hours for the ice maker to cycle. Due to the ice maker not producing ice still after that time frame, we did come back out and performed more troubleshooting and calibrated with the manufacturer for additional troubleshooting. They advised this is a manufacturer issue and do not have the part in stock to fix this issue, and will take some time for the part to come into stock. We advised the consumer of this and since not willing to wait for manufacturer, we did offer to refund the water valve part (provided that we obtain the part back), but will still be responsible for the labor that we did to diagnose the issue and replace the valve.

Why should I have to pay for labor on a part that has never proven to work. Even after I was told that I would have a solution after 24 hours. This is what Airco originally offered, except now it's contingent on getting the part back
Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/10/05) */
This was the solution to the original diagnosed problem of the water not going to the ice maker. After that was solved, and we validated the water was going to the ice maker after installing the part, is when it was determined to be a manufacturer issue, which is what we are waiting on. We are still here to help assist once the manufacturer provides the solution.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Can you please issue the original refund that you offered so we can close this case out?
Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/10/10) */
We can call or you can feel free to call us at XXX-XXX-XXXX and schedule an appointment to come pick up the part anytime at your convenience and then we will issue the refund of the part in amount of $217.20Initial Complaint

called for water heater replacement and was told they could be there after 1:00, they called back and said we can come now so 2 men came & said yes it needs replaced and they would schedule and estimator to come today but no water heater today. I told them that i was told it would be today so i called another company and it was done. before the 2 men left they charged $99. The initial call was to get replacement and was told i would get that. no mention of 2 other visits with inspection and an estimator. Call to the company have been of no use and was meet with very aggressive talk and accusation of me not asking for a replace but a supposed repair on my 15 year old water heater..... not true and no mention on phone or website of these prices or that calls were recorded which she said was reviewed by her...very shady pratice.Business Response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/29) */
During the research, we listened to the first original call. Consumer stated that the 15 year old water tank was leaking and needed some one to come out to his house today. We scheduled the appointment as requested, however, we did not quote the customer the $99 service charge over the phone. We have shared this opportunity with our CSR and also coached to ask additional questions such as "Are you interested in repair or replacement" which would have helped us determine if we needed to send out for service/repair or estimate. Due to no quote of $99 to the consumer on the original call, we have issued the refund back to the consumer of $99.

I have been in contact with this company and they decided to refund me so as to satisfy this complaint. Thanks for the ability to use this service and just the mention of it made them do the right thing.Initial Complaint

Airco Service plumbing came out to my house to fix a toilet issue twice. The first time on August 3rd, 2022 and the second time on August 22nd, 2022. Both times, the toilet issue wasn't fixed even though I had supplied all the parts from American Standard. The plumber were not familiar with the American Standard Vormax toilet. I repeatedly asked for Airco Service to send out an experienced plumber who knew how to fix this issue. On August 21st, 2022, the toilet stopped working and overflowed all over my bathroom floor. The Airco Service plumber sent out on August 22nd blamed the toilet saying that it was a poor functioning toilet when in fact, he did NOT make the appropriate repairs. As I mentioned, I supplied all new toilet parts. And only one of those toilet parts were used. I had paid Airco Service a total of $363 for two plumbers who came out and failed to FIX the toilet. I had to hire another plumber from another company to fix the toilet using all of the new parts. His invoice stated that...."old system was not working due to improperly adjusted old parts." Well, he charged me $165 to fix the problems that Airco Service created and failed to fix. Supposedly, Airco Service states on their web page that they guarantee their work for 30 days. I wished that I NEVER hired Airco Service to begin with. If plumbing issues ever come up in my lifetime, I WILL NOT call Airco Service. They owe me a full refund of $363 for the poor work done. I called Airco Service and discussed this matter and the manager never returned my call. I want this matter settled!!!Business Response

We came out on 8-3 and installed parts that were provided by the customer and the tech tested the toilet flush before leaving. Consumer signed an invoice of $195, which acknowledges the following : "This invoice is agreed and acknowledged. Payment is due upon receipt. I find that all work has been completed in a satisfactory manner. My signature here signifies my full acceptance of all work performed by Airco Service, Inc. pursuant to
the contract as agreed."
Consumer did not contact us back until 8-21-22, for us to come out for a clogged toilet issue. We unclogged the toilet using snake, and advised to hold down flush all the way down to prevent issue again. Consumer called again on 8-22-22, advising same issue. We scheduled for a tech to come back out on 8-24-22 and even advised the customer there would not be any charge for 3rd visit, due to issue continuing to happen from 8-21-22. Consumer messaged us 8-23-22 and cancelled the 8-24-22 appointment and instead went with a different company.
Agreement: Per investigation, we agreed to issue a refund check from the 8-21-22 appointment for clogged toilet, in amount of $168. We will not be issuing a refund of $195 from the first visit, as that happened on 8-3-22, and there was a signed invoice stating the work was completed to their satisfaction, and the next occurrence did not happen until 20 days later, which was related to a clogged toilet.
We will be issuing a refund check in the amount of $168 to the consumer.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I DO NOT ACCEPT THE RESPONSE FROM AIRCO SERVICE!!! They are twisting words to protect themselves from a civil suit. They came out on 8-3-2022. They did not fix the issue because they WERE NOT familiar with the make of my toilet. They blamed the poor flushing on the toilet itself without using the parts that I supplied. They should have used the parts that I supplied to FIX the toilet to prevent the overflow that happened only days later. I had no working toilet for days. Then they finally came out here and snaked the toilet blaming a clog instead of the bad job that they had done on 8-3-2022. BASICALLY THEY DID NOT DO THE ORIGINAL JOB THE RIGHT WAY AND CREATED MORE PROBLEMS RESULTING FROM NOT FIXING THE TOILET THE FIRST TIME. I used a credit card and that's why I signed. I signed without knowing the status of the job. I was at my desk in another room when the plumber came out. He said that it was fixed and I believed him. I gave him my credit card to pay for the job and then signed for that. I shouldn't have believed them. Obviously they were lying to me then and they once again lying here. I DO NOT ACCEPT THEIR RESPONSE!!! They lie to save their tails. They are presently under investigation for FRAUD. And I'm the victim. Warning for those that read their BS, THEY LIE!!! Please, if you're reading this, save yourself some money and go to a different company. AIRCO IS NOT TRUTHFUL!!! AND it cost me another $165 to have a great plumber re-assemble the toilet that should have been fixed by AIRCO to begin with. It shouldn't have taken 3 plumbers to fix one toilet. But I am pleased that the toilet is finally fixed and working properly after another company had to clean up the mess left by AIRCO plumbers. I did not trust AIRCO to come out a 3rd time and mess things up even worse. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!!!!
Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/09/01) */
We stand by our original response and we are processing the check refund of $168 to the consumer to help cover the cost of the clogged toilet.
Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/09/02) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Since they REFUSE to refund $195 for the date of August 3rd, I want a written apology indicating that they caused the clog due to the work done on August 3rd. The clog would not have happened if their plumber didn't come to my house on August 3rd. If the toilet had been totally repaired on August 3rd, we wouldn't be discussing this issue now. Both dates had the same problem...the toilet was NOT fixed!!!! I still don't trust these people and the way they weasel their way out of the so-called guaranteed work. For those potential customers needing plumbing work, save your money and hire another company. This company can't fix ANY basic plumbing fixtures such as a toilet!!Initial Complaint

I text them on Sunday for a quote on a service call. I was told $119 then the tech would quote on-site for the actual work. I call a few hours later and set up a service call. Again I was told $119 for the tech to come and be quoted for work. Tech gets here, quotes $180ish, and has me sign to do the work. I sign and after paying I get an invoice emailed to me with it broken down. Even though I was only told the service call was $119 they charged me an extra $50 claiming an after-hours emergency. This was not discussed via text, phone, or with the tech here. I only found out after the tech left and the invoice was finally emailed. I emailed Monday and didn't get a reply. Tuesday I get home from work and we are still having the same clogging issue. I called Tues night and they said that they couldn't come they were booked but would fit me in this morning. I asked about the charges since it wasn't fixed. She said it would be free then put me on hold and came back saying she spoke with the plumbing supervisor and that the service was not warranted and it would cost me $99 to get someone out and then be quoted again for any additional work. I asked if the extra $50 could be applied towards the new service call since it was never discussed and was told no, and you signed for the work order. A work order that didn't say it was an emergency fee on his tablet I had to sign. I am only asking for what would be right and a refund of the $50 fee that was never discussed with me. I can provide a copy of the text message and invoice if needed.Business Response

Spoke with consumer and there was unclear expectation on the $50 emergency charge that was listed on the invoice. We are refunding the consumer $50 back to her card.

I received a call from Ashley yesterday 8/15 who stated she would be issuing the refund to my card. I received a call today saying that the refund was submitted and I should have it in 1-3 days. For now I am satisfied with the resolution provided the refund actually posts to my account. As of now we can close the case. Thank you
