On August 30, 2023, a down payment of $5,455.00 was paid to Community Builders **** To date there has been no work done on the project. We were told by the representative that the work would start by mid November of 2023. Currently, there has been nothing done. I have called Community Builders on several occasions and was only told the products had not come in from Jacuzzi. We need to be refunded as soon possible so we can get the work done for health reasons.Any help you can give us will be greatly appreciated. If you need additional information, we can be reached at:*****************************- ************** (c) - ************* (h)*********************** - ************** (c)Thank you very muchBusiness Response

I'm sorry to inform you that Mr. and ***************** are no longer eligible for a full refund as they have exceeded the designated time frame. However, I can assure you and the Carters that we are awaiting their material, as ******* has been experiencing some supply issues.Customer Answer

I have reviewed your email dated January 23, ****, wherein you informed me that Community Builder's stated that I am not entitled to a "full refund" of ($5,455.00) because I did not request a refund within the proper time-frame.
There was nothing in the contract dated August 30, 2023, indicating a deadline for requesting a refund, nor was there any mention of a deadline in the many telephone conversations with Community Builder's representatives. Again, a "deadline for refund" was never mentioned, nor was there any mention of a "start date", only excuses for why they have not started the work as of to date.
If anything, we should be the one's getting paid interest from them for the use of our money for over 120 days.
Since Community Builder's continued to delay the "agreed proposed project", I am herein requesting, "full refund" in the amount of $5,455.00.
My husband and I are both in our mid-seventies, and we need a "walk-in tub" before we have a fall in the tub.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

I entered into contract with Community Builders on 7/26/23 to remodel my bathroom. They have not started on even scheduled the start of the project after 6 months. I am a 7/24 hour caregiver for a stroke victim who resides with me. We need this remodel to safely give her showers. Community Builders states that the material is on backorder. However they are still actively advertising the same offer on TV. If they cannot complete the project in a timely fashion I wish to have the contract voided without any penalty to me and without any liens on my property.Business Response

Contract signed 8/10/23 for Jaccuzzi roll in shower install. Copy of the contract and the cancelled check are attached. Repeated contact with ***** at Community Builderes resulted in "not everything is in due to supply chain issues". My final contact with her was "you don't need to call me, I'll call you". My wife and I live just outside ***************, in *********. We ordered a shower remodel after seeing numerous tv advertisements. We ordered this on August 23, 2023. We paid $13,601 cash for this construction. The salesman told us it would take a couple of months which by definition is 2, it has been 4 and a half months since the salesman was in our home convincing my husband and I that Community Builders was trustworthy. After 2 months no one reached out to us. I called them only to find no one would call me back. My wife spoke to them finally in October, the story given was "supply chain" problems. We have difficulty getting them to answer our phone calls. But it's the same response when we do speak to a representative. "We're waiting on parts." We were told the ***********, ** office closed, then told it was just being restructured. We ordered this shower remodel because we need a safer shower to get in and out of. We feel we paid cash in good faith to Community Builders, Inc., Jacuzzi Bath Remodel and they have not delivered what we were promised. The last time we called was 12-20-23 for an update. Same answer. We feel they have not lived up to the expectations that we were promised. We feel we should get our money back. We needed the safer shower in August when we ordered it. We need it more now. We hear all the time about seniors being taken advantage of and you never think it will be you. It would be nice if they would reach out to us. We paid for the service and the service has not been provided. We want a refund.Business Response

Our office has had multiple conversations with both Mr. and ***************. Our most recent communication was on December 20, 2023, during which our front office informed *************** that we are waiting for her material to arrive. Once it arrives and is inspected, we will contact her to schedule the installation as per the terms of her contract. Regarding their request for a refund, it is important to note that they are past the three-day recision period to receive a full refund.Customer Answer

The consumer spoke with BBB and indicated that the business has failed to provide any kind of timeframe for completing the work. They've been told that the issue is a supply chain issue with *******. Her husband contacted ******* and was informed there are no delays on their end for parts or supplies. When she last spoke with the business, she asked for the owner to give her a call to discuss and there has been no call. At this point, they would just like to have a full refund and cancel the contract because this was paid for in cash in August 2023 and there has been no communication or action plan to fulfill the job. Given the significant delay and the fact the business has since shut down their ******** office, they are not comfort with the business moving forward with the contract since there is no longer a local office to provide warranty work, should the need arise after installation.Customer Answer

The last time my wife spoke to ***** at Community Builders in *****, she told us that ******* was having supply issues. This was in December. They are not. I called ******* and they assured me they were not having supply chain issues. Also this same ***** told my wife in November that ************************* was still working for Community Builders in ********. We spoke to ****** and he assures us that he has not worked for them since they closed their shop in ********. I am 71 and my wife is 66 yrs old and has numerous health issues. We need the $13,601 refund so we can get someone local to remodel our shower. We feel they have not lived up to their end of the agreement and it has been almost 6 months since we gave our money in good faith. We were told that it would be 2 months. I am afraid that my wife or I will fall and cause more health issues if we don't get the refund to acquire a new contractor.
Thank you

We are currently only waiting on their shower pan to arrive. We do apologize for the delays caused by *******. Unfortunately it is too late for the ******* to receive a full refund if they were to cancel as per their contract states no refunds.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: My wife and I are at greater risk of falling and suffering a major accident now, more so than when we ordered the shower in August of 2023. Nothing has been resolved. They have our money, a complete payment for everything. They said we cannot get a refund, and they still cannot give us a date for installation. We have been waiting for 6 months. It is time for Community Builders to give us our full refund or get the shower installed, now. We would appreciate a call from the manager or the owner. We asked for this before contacting the BBB. Because no one called, we filled this complaint.Business Response

On March 6, 2024, we recieved an email from *********** saying she was going to add an extension to our complaint against Community Builders. And she said that in response to Community Builders response that the ship date from ******* for the shower pan was for March 13, 2024, we did not need to do anything and to give the business time to meet their own deadline. Well, we then got a message on march 10, 2024 saying that because we didn't respond BBB was closing our complaint. We would like for someone to call us back.Customer Answer

The shower was installed starting Wednesday, March 27, 2024and finished up on Saturday March 30, 2024. It would have been finished earlier if the installer had not had to return to ***** to get the right shower doors. Community Builders sent the wrong shower doors and shower seat. We opted to keep the seat sent, since we were not sure how long it would take to get the one ordered since it took 7 months to schedule the install from purchase date. Thankfully, Community Builders had the right doors in their warehouse in *****, but it meant that Adrieine had to return to ***** to get the doors. Adrieine ***** was our installer. She was amazing. Very knowledgeable, respectful of our property, and very conscientious. She made the install process very easy, I can't say that about the scheduling process. Thank you, ***** BBB. For all your help.
Thank you,

I received service from community builders in 2021 for siding on my house, starting may of 2023 my siding has been falling off from the top on down, it looks like the nails are popping out which I was told that nails are not used, I have been cal consistly calling community builders since may of 2023, i have sent pictures and have explained my situation to them on numerous occasions but i keep getting the run around, I was told by a lady name ****** I think her name was that I would get a call back about scheduling and that was back in June and since then i have of course been calling everyday and no answer and their policy also states they are a guaranteed company.Business Response

I acknowledge that ****************** contacted our offices on May 22, 2023. At that time, I, *********, spoke to her and informed her that a service ticket was created for her contractor, *****. I assured her that he would be scheduling her appointment as soon as possible as that is done by our contractors and not me. Our office staff has been in touch with her multiple times to follow up and alert her contractor to complete the service. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by the contractor not taking care of his responsibilities. For this reason, he is no longer with us. Concerning ********************** claim that we don't use nails, that is incorrect, as siding is installed using nails. Also, there is no one by the name of "******" working here, so I am confused by this statement. I have assigned ********************** service ticket to another installer named ******. He is currently working on an installation, but I will have him reach out to her as soon as he is available to schedule a time to complete her service.Customer Answer

I was looking to remodel a bathroom and saw Jacuzzi Bath Remodel commercials on TV. Instead of calling the 800 number, I entered Jacuzzi Bath Remodel on ****** search and a form popped up asking for contact info. I filled it out and a representative contacted **** specifically asked if they were Jacuzzi Bath Remodel and no labor charges per the advertisement.******* said yes. So on Sept 7th, 2023 I entered into a contract to upgrade the bathroom tub/shower The contract had Jacuzzi Bath Remodel in all caps at the top of contract along with the company Community Builders, Inc. I assumed this was a dedicated contractor for ******* but this was not the case. Community Builders, *** based in *****, **. and provides all types of construction (roof, carports, **************.), not just bathrooms. Amount paid was $7,628.00 (1/2 of total project). After 30 days of no response, I emailed the representative asking for an update on start date. No Reply.I then called the representative cell number and received voicemail that he was a Realtor. This now seemed like a scam. When I called the actual Jacuzzi Bath Remodel 800 number, they ask for a zip code. When entered, they replied sorry - we have no dealers in that zip code. Now I really think I'm being scammed. When I finally reached Community Builders, Inc. after repeated attempts, they said sorry, we don't have the actual options you ordered (color/style). But they have an alternative color/style.At this point, I simply asked for a refund. They could not provide the options I ordered, seemed to misrepresent and act as if they are affiliated with Jacuzzi Bath Remodel. They have refused to provide a refund stating they cannot return equipment ordered. The equipment ordered are not the choices I selected. A bait and switch attempt. My options are to accept the alternative options they ordered?I am preparing to go to court, either Small Claims or District Court to get a refund. Any help is appreciate.Business Response

****************** is correct he signed a contract with us on Sept. 7, 2023 however his deposit was not received until Sept. 11, 2023. Once that was received an order for the material to do his bathroom remodel was ordered. We have been having some supply chain issues due to shortages of material. Due to this the owner of the company contacted ****************** and offered him the option to change his color choice to something we have in stock in order to speed up the installation process. We even offered him a discount if he wanted to go that route. ****************** refused and then on 10/16/2023 he disputed his deposit with his credit card company causing us to put a hold on his project. On 10/23/2023 we were able to dispute and win the refund of ****************** deposit with the credit card company due to the fact he is under contract and remove the hold. We want nothing more than to complete this project and many more, if ****************** will have a bit more patience I guarantee his material is soon to arrive and we will install the bathroom he chose.Customer Answer

Thanks to Community Builders, Inc. for responding. This is the first notice I have received that the actual choices I ordered will be available.
It is now 60 days past 10/23/23. What start date can I expect to begin this work?

The bath surround was installed in October 2019. The company stated the caulk and materials would not mold and has a 5 year warranty. Within a month there was mold and the shelves installed were loose. The original contractor came out and replaced the caulking. The handles avd faucet has always been loose and the contractor said that is normal. It molded again quickly but we decided just to live with it because Community Builders is so difficult to get in touch with. In August 2023 the faucet was leaking. In September 2023 Contractor, ****** came out and couldn't fix leak because how the original contractor pipied the tub. ****** took pictures of the mold and loose board and stated that we could get all of this replaced and fixed. In October 2023, contractor ******** came out and fixed the leak. She knew nothing about replacing the caulking and the loose board. She took more pictures and submitted a repair order. In December 2023 we were contacted by contractor ****** to come do the repairs. He stated he would be at our house at 8:30am. At noon he had not arrived, did not answer texts or phone calls. I feel we are being scammed by Community Builders with sub-standard materials and workmanship. I would like a full refund so I can repair my bathtub surround with quality materials.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I have not received any calls from community builders to schedule to have my shower valve fixed.
It is not the contractors I have an issue with, it is the lack of communication from the staff of community builders.
I have never had someone return a phone call. And they have ignored the advice of two different contractors on how to fix our shower.
I need to have someone from Community Builders call me to schedule the valve to be fixed.
Business Response
Date: 12/20/2023
I personally have spoken to ***************************** at least twice and her husband at least once so saying they have never spoken to anyone is completely false. I agree the valve issues needs to be addressed and we will get this taken care of. However since the customers do not have easy access to the water controls this is not going to be **************** to complete. We will have to create an access panel from the wall behind their shower which takes planning, and material. So again I ask that they please be patient.Business Response
Date: 12/20/2023
I have attached a copy of the CBI's 5 year labor warranty which states that the caulking is considered a home maintenance issue and is the homeowner's responsibility. I apologize for the mold/mildew in their bathroom, but even mildew-resistant products can grow mildew if the bathroom lacks proper ventilation and stays moist. My suggestion is to remove the shower door or use a squeegee to remove most of the water off the shower when you get out. And again we will repair the issue with the hot and cold controls on their shower as soon as possible.Customer Answer
Date: 12/20/2023
I am rejecting this response because:
The faucet issue has not been resolved.
I need a call or meeting in person.
This started with a water leak at my faucet
Contractor one ******, took photos and he recommended that the wall be removed so that the plumbing could be fixed and the faucet could be fixed properly.
Contractor two, ********, was able to fix the leak but when she did my hot and cold are reversed. I would like this fixed as if we go to sell the house this could be an issue that we would have to resolve and it was working properly before she fixed it. She also recommended the wall be removed so that the plumbing could be fixed properly. But she was able to stop the leak she also took pictures the same as ****** showing the mold.
Contractor three, ******, was great he fixed the mold and sturdied up the faucet that was loose he also started up the shelves that were loose he also noticed that the soap wall has a bulge in it which was one of the reasons that the that the wall was not sitting flush and the caulk was able to come loose water get behind it this was also something ****** had mentioned when he came out in September.
I would like all of this addressed. Our install was October 2019. 4 years ago.

We signed a contract for a bathroom remodel on June 27, 2023. We were told verbally they were running about 8 weeks out on bathrooms at this time, which was fine. After 8 weeks with no word from anyone we called to see what was going on. They finally sent someone out to remeasure the first week of August. We have dealt with ***** at this office multiple times, and rarely get a call back. There is always an inventory issue, they are being audited, loss of employees, a person working there has sick family, or the supplies are on backorder. Excuses every single time and never a call initiated, its always after we get the run around and finally someone answers the voicemails left. At this point we just want to cancel the entire contract! ***** says she cant do that, and does not give any information to whom we can call.Business Response

On 22 October 2021, I contracted with this company to remodel my bathroom. On 4-3-22 work was completed. During this time frame I called several times asking when my would be started. Most calls went to answering machine with no return call.
On 7-1-22 I began calling about repair issue with shower install. Issues: no flow control from shower heads, water is either full on or off; the window surround was not sealed all the way around window opening; the window surround is not draining water away from window frame-stays puddled by window.

Community Builders has attempted to make contact with the homeowner over the past 6 months and we have finally made contact and discovered that the homeowner had blocked our phone number. A repair has been scheduled and the homeowner is now happy with the resolution.
