My husband and I dropped off our truck to Love’s store #368 for AC issues on 5.18.25 with promises to get it back the next evening. I followed my husband to the business to drop truck for repairs and took him back again the next evening after receiving a call that it was fixed (@ least 30 minutes both ways, so a total 2 hr trip). I dropped my husband off on 5.19.25 to pick up the truck, he tested the truck’s AC prior to leaving, and it was still blowing hot air. I had to turn around to go back and pick him back up and leave the truck again. The next day the mechanic did additional work and told my husband once again it was fixed, but again it was not and the mechanic was gone for the day. After paying $1364.83 the first time, then paying $467.81 the second time, we were informed they didn’t know what was wrong and refused to further troubleshoot. So after spending $1832.64 we took our truck back home. I’ve called customer service numerous times in attempt to resolve this issue, left messages, but no one calls us back. We had to eventually contact another mechanic, who fixed the issue, but for an additional fee of course. This is the second incident we’ve had with this Love’s, they never deliver as promised, seems inconsiderate of the customers time, and we will NEVER go back. Good service is so hard to find these days. PLEASE HELP!

On 5/27/25 I purchase "Dual Port Charger" I paid $25.52. I tried using the equipment and it didn't work correctly. I tried to return (Dual Port Charger) to the store and spoke with the Manager on duty-(060225) at 2:00PM. The manager on duty had a very unprofessional attitude and wouldn't allow me to return the Item I purchase. The manager advise me that they had a sign in the store "stating they don't take be electronic" which was displayed at other part of the store. I had to buy two other " Dual Port Charger" for another store. I left bad "Dual Port Charger" with the store manager on duty. I asking for a full refund of $25.00 plus the tax I paid on the original purchase.

We responded to the Mr. ******** with an apology and we added 2,000 points to customer's rewards account which is the equivalent of $20.00.  Our electronics section is clearly marked that we do not refund electronics purchases, however we will be happy to exchange the product with receipt and original packaging. We have not heard back from Mr. ******** since updating his rewards account.

We visited Loves #325 in Tifton, GA, at approximately 2:45 AM on 6/9/25. We were traveling and stopped to use the restroom and get gas. My father in law is handicapped and cannot walk without assistance and is only able to walk a few feet until pain sets in. This Loves is currently under construction and the men’s restroom is located in a trailer in the back of the building. My father in law walked through the entire store all the way to the restroom trailer in the back of the building and I pulled the car around back to pick him up as he would have been unable to complete the walk back to the car in the front of the store. While parked back there, my husband took my son to the restroom trailer as well. A trucker, who pulled into a gas pump following me parking (and backing up to give the trucker more room), angrily got out of his truck, cussing and shaking his head at me. I immediately called my husband to tell him I was moving the car until my father in law was walking out as I felt unsafe due to the truckers reaction. As I was on the phone with him, the Love’s employee, ******* (skinny, white, blonde female), came outside yelling at my husband (who was now walking towards the car) and clapping at him shouting “you need to go.” My husband tried to calmly explain that his father is handicapped and we are only parked there because he cannot walk back. She started yelling obscenities over top of my husband and wouldn’t even allow him to speak until and told us “Oh well. You need to leave or I’m calling the cops.” while pointing in his face. Mind you, this was in front of our 6 year old son who is now hysterically crying. My husband went inside to pay for our gas a couple minutes later, asked for her name (she refused- her name was obtained due to her coworker using her name to tell her to stop yelling at my husband), and stated he was filing a complaint. She then said “Oh well. It won’t be the first one.” She was volatile, hostile, discriminatory, and downright rude.

On Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, I was driving with family from Las Vegas to Amarillo. I stopped at the Tucumcari location to pump gas. My friend got out with my card to authorize at the pump. The pump kept saying “transaction canceled.” She went inside to talk to an attendant and the attendant at the register reset the pump. She came back out and inserted my debit card into the pump. Same thing, transaction canceled. She got back in the car and we went across the street to Pilot station.

I drive a Kia Sedona (white) that has a 17 gallon tank. I noticed that evening that a charge was authorized and coming through on my card for $129.22. The next day I called Love’s in Tucumcari to get them to cancel the transaction and I explained what happened. I spoke with Kirk who said he didn’t know how that happened but gave me the customer service number of ************. After going through phone tree hell I spoke with ***** who took all the information and gave me case number ******** and told me they would look at the video and return the debit to my card within 48 hours. That didn’t happen of course.

On the 25th of April, I filed a dispute with my bank, but they declined to do anything about it after nearly a month because it was a pay at the pump transaction and I was to try and straighten it out with the merchant.

I called Love’s customer service back only to find that they had decided that the charge was correct. I escalated it to the card fraud department where you can only leave a voicemail to receive a call back.

As of today, June 2, I have not heard from them.

Had Loves actually looked at the store video, they would have seen me pull up in a white Sedona, see my friend try to authorize my debit card, leave to go in to the store, come back and attempt it again and us drive off. We didn’t pump 44 gallons of gas, especially when my car only takes 17 gallons. This is theft!!! I want my $129.22 returned to me.

The customer contacted us on April 21, 2025, and the matter was escalated to our Card Services team. Our Card Services team reached out to the customer via email the same day.
In the communication, the customer was informed that the card was used to activate the fuel pump and fuel was dispensed. A valid authorization was received, and we are therefore unable to issue a credit.
The customer was advised to contact their bank or card issuer to file a fraud dispute if they believe the charge was unauthorized.

We contacted the customer via email and explained we received valid authorization and fuel was dispensed so we're unable to provide reimbursement. Also advised if she feels the charge is fraudulent, she will need to dispute with her bank.

I am rejecting this response because:

Love’s STILL doesn’t get the point. Yes, it was authorized but the pump canceled the transaction. We even went inside to ask a clerk what was going on. Even after resetting the pump and receiving a transaction canceled message, my card number was still in the system as authorized and Loves can’t explain why. The next person who pumped the 44 gallons got it on MY CARD!! How did that person pay for their gas?

loves still doesn’t want to answer how 44 gallons of gas was pumped in under 10 minutes into a Kia Sedona with a 17 gallon gas tank.

They still don’t acknowledge that my bank can’t dispute pay at the pump transactions.

loves admitted there is no video to look at.

They only send blanket answers in their email that trained monkeys could send.

This case has been sent on to *** ******, attorney general of the state of Texas for theft. I’m going to let the  attorney general’s office handle it.

It would behoove Loves to admit that they don’t know what the hell happened and practice good customer service by issuing a refund instead of playing games back and forth, not reading facts. I’m out $129 for gas that I didn’t receive, more than I could use, and Love’s doesn’t give a shit about their customers.

I’ll be posting all of this on a blog and will be asking if anyone has had this kind of treatment from Love’s and would be party to a class action suit. I’m done dealing with this nicely. Had I received the gas, I wouldn’t be making an issue. Get off your damn computer and look at this case logically.

      Sincerely,

      ***** *******

I stopped at the Love’s Travel Stop in Troutdale, Oregon on a cross-country trip in my brand-new $75,000 vehicle. After filling up with a full tank of gas, I parked in a designated space intending to rest briefly and use the paid shower in the morning—something I’ve done at Love’s across the country without issue.

Shortly after parking, I was approached by security who was aggressively filming me and said “management wants the lot cleared” and no one is allowed to sleep there. Meanwhile, the lot was full of semi-truck drivers sleeping in their cabs—which is expected at a truck stop—and multiple others were clearly sleeping in cars or vans. One van didn’t answer the door and was left alone. Others were ignored. I was the only one being targeted and forced to leave. The enforcement felt inconsistent, selective, and frankly discriminatory.

There’s also a sloppily hung “No Parking” sign in the customer lot threatening towing, despite no clear reason and no indication I was violating policy. I wasn’t loitering or causing issues—I was a paying customer, resting safely and respectfully.

To make matters worse, while using the paid shower the next morning, I heard a Love’s employee banging on a stall door and yelling at someone to “hurry up.” This was unprofessional and hostile. Google reviews for this location mention similar bathroom harassment, showing this is a pattern.

This experience left a terrible impression. Love’s promotes itself as traveler-friendly, but Troutdale was the opposite. I’m asking for clarification of the overnight policy for paying non-commercial customers, and for corporate to address the behavior of staff at this location.

On March 30, 2025, i purchased fuel at Love's travel stop in Macon, Georgia. The first pump i tried would not let me continue without entering a reward number, which i do not have. I cancelled the transaction (or so i thought) and moved to a different pump. my husband was able to get past the "enter your reward number" screen at a different pump and we were able to refuel. The original pump dispensed $102.53 fuel to an RV who used the pump after i left. I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. They advised me to contact the company directly, which i did. Loves said i had authorized the charge, which I thought i had cancelled. please advise. thank you.

They have signs stating there is a 1-2 day hold on debit cards at the gas pump. They took the money for the fuel I purchased 8 minutes after I purchased it and 5 days later they still haven’t released the hold they have on my card. I started renting an RV space from Love’s Travel Stop via their website at an average rate of $51.00 a day on October 14, 2024 in Bates City MO. On December 24, 2024 i moved to the Cameron, MO location and continued to rent a space at $51/day up until March 9, 2025. I have bank statements as receipts for a little over $7300 paid to the Love’s corporation. Without any notice, on March 9, 2025 Love’s authorized my RV be towed and as a result, i am now homeless & unable to work. My ability earn a living is inside the RV and the towing company has refused to let me enter the unit to retrieve my personal property until the towing fee and storage fees of $150 a day are paid. I spoke to the corporate customer service/complaint line and was told they did not need to give notice to tow any vehicle off their lot and my complaint was closed. My phone number is required every time i would pay the rental fee for the RV space. I was not contacted in any way before my home was towed, which by Missouri abandoned vehicle laws is required before any vehicle can be towed, unless in a posted tow away zone or involved in criminal activity - My RV was not in either situation. I would like Love’s Travel Stop to pay the towing and storage fees to return my RV and belongings to me. The tow lot is going to apply for an abandoned title in the next few days because i cannot afford the fee to get it back when Loves NEVER should have authorized anyone to tow it. This has completely devastated me financially and emotionally. I have been unable to take my blood pressure meds, my anti-depressants, buy food (to replace all the food in my rv), care for my dogs and have had to live in my unregistered car with the title inside the rv. Im requesting $5500 of what ive paid in rental fees to pay the towing lot to retrieve my rv back.

We contacted the customer via email on 4/16/25 and apologized for their experience and assured them it would be addressed. We escalated their concerns to the risk department and they'll follow up with the customer.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/23/2025

      To Whom it May Concern,

After our investigation, it appears that the customer's vehicle was towed for 2 separate reasons. First of which was non-payment and secondly the customer had parked their vehicle in an RV spot that was reserved for another customer.
Our store personnel alerted the authorities who then contacted a local towing
company to move the vehicle as it was illegally occupying a space not reserved for them. Furthermore, the customer does not have a title to
provide to the tow company showing proof of ownership, therefore the customer
is unable to retrieve it from the yard.

We attempted to reach the customer via phone and email to personally discuss and explain our findings, but we have not heard back as of today's date.

It appears that Love's is not liable for the allegations set
forth and no compensation will be provided to the customer.

      Thanks,

      ****** ****** - Supervisor of Risk Management

back in Dec 2024 I was shut down for my truck being cdl and no cdl drivers. Prior to, I had not known my guys used the loves fuel card as I had been using a different card for fuel because of the better discounts. March ************************************* the amount of $454.51 from Loves collections. This prompted me to figure out what the problem is. I accept that I owe a balance of $852.12, however the partial payment was taken on March 24, 2025. It should be reflecting a balance of $397.61 instead of the full amount.I called loved today, Monday April 7, 2025 to inquire about the balance and make sure it's updated to reflect the new owed amount. **** *** is my account *** and she said that it would take another 2-3 weeks for it to reflect. I asked for that in writing and she refused. I said I'll have to reverse that payment if no one can find it. **** *** then proceeds to tell me that "YOU SHOULD PAY YOUR BILLS THEN!" and hangs up on me. We initiated a draft March 21, 2024.  It takes 14 business days for Love's to receive the funds from any draft request.  Once we receive your funds, we will update your balance to the $397.61.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

That is all that I needed to be sent to me in writing. While Im ok with this response, it doesnt take away the fact that I suffered verbal abuse from someone Im supposed to trust with my valuable information. The response should have included an apology for her poor customer service, denying me the right to have anything related to my account in writing as requested, and having me to then become disrespectful towards her.

technically she was acting as a debt collector and debt collectors are not allowed to say anything to the customer they are attempting to collect from. I had informed her that I was unaware of a balance and the reason why. To tell me Maybe you should learn how to pay your bills! Like Im a child or beneath her is distasteful and I do not feel safe with Loves anymore. ESPECIALLY because how cold the response was, there was no remorse in it. I had her on speaker in front of a witness, and she was recorded.

the only response Im willing to accept now is that I am allowed to pay the balance off by the end of April 2025 and my contract is terminated.

      Sincerely,
