I participated in the RebatesMe Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotion from 11/15/2022 to 12/10/22. During that time period, I earned $13.08 on their Spin and Win game. To activate these rewards, RebatesMe required a $20 or more purchase. On 11/26/22, I made a $20 purchase from Rebatesme for a gift card. This purchase was tracked and noted on my account. After the promotion ended, the $13.08 in Spin and WIn credits statuses changed to expired. On 12/17/22 and following days, I inquired with **** (RebatesMe C/S), who informed me that my purchase didn't quality as purchases from RebatesMe didn't count towards the promotion. I informed him that the terms and conditions of the promo did not state this or exclude this purchase. The terms of the promotion state:"Spin to win cash bonus:1. The cash bonus you won on every wheel spin is accumulated throughout the entire event.2. Your Black Friday Cash Bonus will be activated if your orders placed during the entire event period are successfully tracked by RebatesMe and accumulate to $20 or more.3. If RebatesMe is unable to track your orders as described in 2., your Black Friday Cash Bonus will be automatically canceled on the 10th of December.4. Travel booking, service and fraud orders, and missing orders are not included in the order amount to be considered towards the activation of your Black Friday Cash Bonus.FAQ:Q: How do I activate my Black Friday Cash Bonus?A: Your Black Friday Cash Bonus will be activated if your orders placed during the entire event period are successfully tracked by RebatesMe and accumulate to $20 or more.**** said that my gift card purchase, which is a tangible good, is excluded as Rebatesme defines this as a "service" as noted in number 4 of the terms. This type of retroactive exclusionary interpretations are both disingenuous and not in good faith. Thank you for your feedback. In order to earn the Black Friday bonuses your purchase needed to follow the merchant's cash back terms as well. Most merchants do not offer cash back on the purchase or redemption of gift cards. I am rejecting this response because:This is a canned respose and did not address the matter at all. REBATESME IS THE MERCHANT who owns and sells the gift cards through their site. Furthermore, the transaction shows on my account as:

I've been a member of rebatesme for sometime now. I've bad multiple issues with them hiding the validity dates of bonuses/promotions. They don't put this information forward in hopes the customer will try to take advantage of the promotional and fail. Meaning they get extra money in their pocket but don't actually have to pay out the incentives that drove the traffic to their site. A good example of this is the recent holiday spinner wheel promotion. My husband and I both logged in every single day to spin. We intended to make a $20 purchase in order activate the $20+ promotional cashback in each of our accounts. Problem is, we had no idea when the purchase needed to be made because this information wasn't anywhere in the promotion. There is a separate page of linked terms that, presumably, only rebatesme has access to as my husband and I both looked multiple times for the terms of this promotion and were unable to find them. Readers of the "good deals" blog I follow also mention not being able to find the terms for this promotion. Rebatesme will take no responsibility for this. They won't acknowledge fault, they won't agree to prominently display their offer terms in the future, they haven't offered any sort of make good gesture to try to make my husband and I happy. They've done nothing to try to make this right and it's like they don't even care about my feedback. I complained about them not mentioning that bonuses don't count towards the earned cashback threshold for the signup bonus and I'm pretty sure they STILL haven't updated this in their terms and use it as a way of denying the incentive to customers who legitimately qualified for it... this portal is the definition of sketchy. They're here to s**** you over and profit from you. Do yourself a favor and use a real portal that doesn't hide their terms or resort to deception to earn their money. Topcashback, rakuten, retailmenot, *********** shopping, swagbucks and many others don't decieve their customers.Business Response

To qualify for a Sign Up Bonus you must be a new member of RebatesMe and make qualifying purchases earning at least $10 in cash back within 365 days of your join date. Since you didn't earn at least $10 in cash back within 365 days of your join date (2021-06-25), your sign-up bonus is canceled. I signed up an AXOS saving and checking account through rebates me which promised of 150 sign up bonus. Yet only 70 dollars was awarded for the checking account. After repeated inquires, no action was taken. Also Rebatesme's own signup bonus of 35 dollars was not awarded either. It was required for customer to earn 10 dollars of cash back to get the 35 dollars, I have earned 73, and still haven't got it and it still asks me to spend 10 dollars to be qualified. I made a purchase on 11/25/22 (order #wh85339738), shown attached below, at the retailer *********************** via the shopping portal RebatesMe, and no cashback has been credited. I filed a missing cashback claim (Inquiry ID *******, and after 2 weeks of research, it was rejected with the following reason: We were not able to successfully verify your transaction referral with the merchant. As a result, ****************** has denied your Inquiry.I am familiar with the whole cashback procedure that a consumer is supposed to follow and I did not click on any other cashback portal. Rebatesme offered a bonus of $100 for clicking through their site and signing up for an ********* account. I followed the link, used no other cashback sites and a clean browser without ad blocking extensions or software. The click through registered on their site, but the promotion bonus never did. I filed a claim as it was not tracking properly. I completed all steps as instructed but they denied my claim today after months of waiting. My husband signed up in the same fashion from a different computer and his Rebatesme offer tracked properly and is scheduled to award on 12/12. I clicked through on Rebatesme on 9/14 and applied, the ********* account was opened on 9/16 and funded with $100 which was part of the offer on Rebatesme site. I only used Rebatesme site, no other cashback sites, and completed the sign up and offer as it appeared in their terms of service. I would like the company to follow up and award me the bonus as all terms and conditions were met, yet the offer did not track and my claim was denied despite providing proof. As seen in other complaints, this is a VERY common problem with this site.Business Response

Cash Back is only valid for new ********* customers, one time per customer. Cash Back is not available on business accounts. You can view the terms on the page:https://www.rebatesme.com/en/stores/axosbank. The merchant feedback that you are not a new customer for them. In our backend, you have two ********* orders. The order numbers are ******* and *******. And we noticed that you registered more than one RebatesMe account. In another RebatesMe account, ********* order ******* is already credited with $100 cash back. So that your second order is not eligible for cash back. Hello, my name is Zhiyun **** and my email associated with rebatesMe is ******************* I purchased three orders with trip Ids (********, ********, ********) on Feb 03, 2022 via rebatesme and dell.com because of the promise of cash back. Here are the following:Purchase Ids: *************, *************, ************* Inquiry Ids: ******, ****** Months later, I saw that these cashbacks were not applied as promised so I filed an appeal with proof of email purchase history. However, RebatesMe rejected my appeal citing wrong orderId when in fact I tried to combine all three orders into one. This was also ridiculous because the email confirmation confirmed my three orders with Dell.com and as if RebatesMe agent didnt even take one single closer look at the proof. When I tried to appeal it again yesterday, it just automatically rejected my appeal citing it is more than 6 months. This is not right. And it also made us feel uncomfortable to use this site in the future because of lack of transparency as well as poor quality of customer service to help customers like us. I hope the management takes action to resolve this rapid decline in customer service.Business Response

Thank you for your feedback. When submitting a missing cash back inquiry it needs to be done within 90 days of your purchase date as this is how long most merchants allow for any returns/exchanges/cancelations ect. Additionally, when submitting missing cash back inquiries, you will need to submit one per order, please do not combine them all in one.
We heard back from the merchants inquiry response, that unfortunately your order is not eligible for cash back through RebatesMe. They say that credit for your order was given to another website which means they will not pay us the commission or the cash back for your order. This usually happens if you click on other sources to get to the merchant as well as clicking on RebatesMe around the time that you place your order, if you already had items in your shopping cart when you clicked through from RebatesMe, or if you used a coupon or promotion code that wasn't posted on RebatesMe (then the credit for your order goes to the source of that coupon code). We will try to get you cash back as much as we can, but if the merchant refuses to pay us a commission for your order then we aren't able to share that commission with you as cash back.

I am rejecting this response because:I have never opened up any other channels when I made the purchase. Therefore, it is impossible to have been credited to another channel. According to the inquiry Id ****** (my previous appeal), they were able to verify that the purchase happened via RebatesMe but the order Ids were incorrectly populated. This has been a very disappointing experience from a customer perspective. If this matter does not get resolved as such that I would not receive this cashback, I would never go back to use this site again as well as giving my honest review on social media to ask my friends to stay away from this.

I made a purchase on 05/20/22, shown attached below, at the retailer **** Tactical through the shopping portal RebatesMe, and no cashback has been credited. I filed a missing cashback claim, and after 3 months of research, it was rejected with the reason: Denied: Order Credited to Another Channel. Id ask that this other channel be provided. I did not use any other cash back portal, and this is a made up reason to deny the 8% that I'm owed. I have never dealt with a cash back portal this dishonest before, and I will never use them again after this experience.Business Response

I purchased a weekend getaway for my husband's birthday back on April 21, 2022 via rebatesme and Booking.com because of their promise of cash back. Rebatesme is blaming Booking.com for me not receiving the cash back. I want the cashback that was promised to me asap. As you can see Booking.com acknowledged my travel completion and Rebatesme site says that "Cash back will be uploaded to your account within 3 months after travel has been completed", not that I had to wait for them to go back and forth with a company that they contracted with. Please refer to the uploads of communication with Rebatesme and screenshot of Booking.com receipt of our stay and total, of which we are supposed to be reimbursed 4% of that.Thank you BBBBusiness Response
