I am a victim of identity theft. I am writing to request that you block the following fraudulent information from my credit report. I have no idea how the theft took place. I also have no knowledge of any suspects. I did not receive any money, goods, or services as a result of identity theft. Please let me know if you need any other information from me to block this information from my credit report. Thank you.Business Response

We received a complaint from this consumer via the **** portal as well and we cannot identify this person in our system. If there is ID theft the consumer needs to contact law enforcement as soon as possible. If our company is reporting something incorrectly we will need an identifying number from a notice or credit report to confirm the correct record.Business Response

We cannot reply to the last message received as BBB has closed the case. However the consumer provided more information and we were able to locate the file in our system. However, this is and cannot be an ID theft issue as she claims and according to the documents. Collect Northwest / Southern Oregon Credit did not and cannot open an account in her name. The trade line she is asserting is ID theft is an outstanding debt she owes to ********************** from 2018. We are in receipt of her request to validate the debt and will be sending appropriate documentation for this requirement. If she has further questions about this debt she can contact our office at ************. As she has provided a Cease and Desist we are no longer able to communicate to her regarding this debt.
Cordially,

This company is taking me to court due to identity theft. On Point reported me to this company due to an account that was falsely opened in my name. I submitted a police report I filed for identity theft to them in Oct 2023. I disputed the debt on my credit report, put a credit freeze with the credit bureaus, and reported the fraud to OnPoint. However, none of that matters to this company. They say they didn't get the police report and filed a claim against me. I sent them the police report again via fed ex and they received it, but STILL say they are taking me to court. The lady I talked to was extremely rude and unhelpful. I asked for someone else, they transfered me to a general voicemail box. Their tactic is to file court cases in hopes people don't show up and then they can file for garnishment. I will be reporting this to the court when I show up and I will be pressing charges against this bully of a company.Business Response

We have received the complaint from the consumer and have given the police report to our client for review. They have already fully vetted the consumer's issue and the new report does not indicate the consumer is a victim of ID theft, only that he has claimed to be one. If he is victim, he needs to comply with the police department he filed the claim with and provide more evidence for them to acknowledge there is true ID theft. Until that is done, the consumer is responsible for the charges on his account.Initial Complaint

I have no contract with southern Oregon collections, though they are reporting that I owe them over $6000, they need to provide proof of this debt, original contract with original debtor, my signature on such contract if one exsists. this debt is reported to credit bureaus with inaccuracies in amount owed, dates, no original creditor shown, account status is inaccurate, and different on each reporting agency, nothing about this supposed debt is accurate , or verified, and is unnecessarily and undeservingly effecting my credit score because of this false and fraudulent information the account status shows "unknown", and yet it states that I have a late payment, but doesn't show any past due balance, and my balance is somehow increasing on this unverified and fraudulently reported debt. Not to mention I have never seen this debt before I have no knowledge of owing any creditor this amount of money. Also account cannot have a late payment status, also be shown as a collection account, and also show account status as unknown. Completely contradictory and falseBusiness Response

A collector form our office spoke with the consumer on 10/26/23 and she was not interested in paying or discussing this debt, however she paid another debt we had in our office at the time. Over the last 4 years have been paying of multiple debts over 20 years old and after each one I ask for satisfaction of judgement and confirm there are no other old ****'s. Each time an assured all are paid but the one I am working on.On Friday may 18 2024 i was informed they filed a claim on my father's property which i did not inherit that was transferred to my sister ****** in probate. As i was not the owner or beneficiary this claim is illegal as they filed on property that is not mine or someone who is not responsible for my debts. Attempts to call to resolve has resulted in no contact from the supervisors or legal team. Instead they sent a letter to ticor title to force my sister and husband to pay them before they can get a loan on their own property. Please evaluate this and hope you find them operating out of the far debt collection practices. I need them to one communicate debts when asked about them! By saying there is none when asked to hide them so they accumulate more interest is wrong. Two filing a claim on property that does not belong to me is wrongBusiness Response

Unfortunately the consumer believes we are to blame for putting a lien on the wrong property, which we have not done. A judgment was taken against *********************** 3/5/2024 and communication regarding this and all debts have been ongoing. There are no "20 year old" debts we are working with. There is a previous case from 2004 which was paid and a satisfaction filed with the court 10/23/2023. If the title company is still showing there is alien against the property the consumer will need to take it up with them. A judgment is not a specific lien to a specific property, but a general potential lien in a county against any property owned, and it appears the title company may be mistaken in this matter.Initial Complaint

Around 2012, I had surgery at Oregon Ear Nose and Throat for a lump in the back of my neck and a deviated septum. I paid over a 1000 up front and insurance was billed. In 2014, I moved back home on the east coast. I had no idea that this money was owed to them. When I was in Oregon, I was in an abusive relationship and relocated. After that, I did not receive mail. I was living in ************** at the time of the judgement and had no idea that it occurred. They are all individually small medical debts owed. This is not a situation of me skipping out on a debt. I thought my insurance covered my surgery. H.R.2537 - Consumer Protection for Medical Debt Collections Act states A consumer reporting agency is prohibited from including on a consumer credit report, and a person is prohibited from reporting to such agency (1) medical debt arising from a medically necessary procedure, or (2) other medical debt less than a year old.A person reporting medical debt to a consumer reporting agency must first provide notice to that consumer regarding the restrictions on including medical debt on credit reports.Furthermore, a debt collector is prohibited from collecting a medical debt less than two years old.I have tried to contact this creditor several times and they have given me 3 different amounts due for the same bill. I have made very reasonable negotiations and they refused. I also asked for something in writing that states the amount negotiated for payment and they refuse. Some people have had the issue where they agree on the settlement and the business goes back on it so I wanted to be safe. They said that they would not even provide me a receipt. This has been a nightmare. I would like a fair negotiated settlement and this removed from my credit report.Business Response

We dispute the information provided by the consumer. There are 13 debts owed from 2014 and prior, all in a judgment. We have had many communications with the consumer over the years, but have not received a payment since 8/2014. The consumer has contacted our office this week asking to settle the debt. We always provide receipts when asked. The laws the consumer is citing here are not correct at all. These debts are valid and owed, and in a judgment through Oregon Courts. We also want a fair settlement and will agree to something that is fair for all sides.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because I and another individual named *********************** who contacted them on my behalf, called them again on Friday, 3/16/2024 at 12:07 and 12:35. I called them again to put in an offer to clear the debt. The creditor said that they would consider it and for me to call back later. I called again at 5:14 pm and they still did not have an answer. They told me to call back Monday. I have been trying over a week pay this debt that I was not aware of. For a company that claims that they have tried to contact me several times, they sure are making it difficult for me to pay this debt. I also am having to call them because they said that they cant call to ************** from their phones it contradicts them saying they have made attempts to get ahold of me. I am even willing to have a Better Business Bureau associate be on the call with me to see if this can be resolved or what I have been experiencing if they again delay me being able to pay. It only benefits them because they can collect on the interest to not make an effort to contact me. Again, this is again on a surgery that I put money down on and that I didnt know my insurance didnt cover. As soon, as I discovered this issue, I have been desparately trying to pay it to the point that Im having to contact the better business bureau to try to get it resolved. Again, as soon as I was made aware of it, I have made several calls to pay ita total of 9 phone calls, and I still cant get this resolved. I have even offered more than professionals have told me to negotiate for and I have still not been able to resolve this.I have tried to attach my phone records as proof of me trying to resolve this, but they are too large. The ******* Oregon numbers are for the business as well as me contacting the Jackson County Court system. I am happy to send them via email as proof.
Below are the numbers of witnesses that can attest to the difficulty that I have been having:

Not sure why there is continued issues as the consumer has contacted our office and paid the debt in full as of 3/24/24.Customer Answer

I would also like to add that the lied for two weeks stating that they could not call me in **************. That I would have to continually call back. Yet, an associate was able to call me back twice yesterday.
They dont listen to previous calls, yet assume they are right on their end. It wasnt until after I paid my bill with my checking account that the mentioned it would take longer to processshe stated it almost as if she forgot. When I called back to see how I could get this resolved, an associate belittled me like I should have known better. I then had to pay a 150 fee just to get it paid with a debit card so I could have the debt settled fast.
This organization is like the mafia. Jackson County Clerk of Courts should ban their business from judgments.

A charged-off debt from Reliable Credit Service has been placed for collection with our company. We have made over a dozen communication attempts for the consumer to communicate with us and he has refused to do so, other than filing this "complaint". We will treat this communication as a dispute of the debt and validate it according to state and federal law.Initial Complaint

I received a letter from someone in December they were going to mail me a statement because the reason I went to collections was that they had the wrong name and address. I never heard then I get a letter from an attorney. I call and find out that they filed a small claim against me. I spoke with someone from the credit services explained everything and asked if could i make payments. She said yes but we are still moving forward with your case. I explained that I should not be penalized because of their and the doctor's *** mistake. she was rude and said I had to pay the full price or I could get served. then they charged me ****** in interest the original bill was ****** and ***** for court fees. I checked with the court they said I could make payments. She also told me it's too late to make payments we are still moving forward with small claims. They failed on their part as well as Sothern Oregon imaging which I was just there about 2 months ago and they all whispered behind the desk instead of speaking to me and apparently called ******* Oregon credit. So for there mistake with the wrong name and address and city, I was penalized and they made me pay ********. I think credit services tell you whatever to scare you when they give incorrect information. i would like this looked into. They have corrected my name and address so they will probably try to say they had my correct info. The first question from them do you still live in Talent Oregon. Never haveBusiness Response

We cannot respond to any issues regarding Oregon Advanced Imaging or their staff. Our records indicate an account was placed for collection 4/29/2019 with the **************, which is likely a transposing of the last two digits by our client. We placed 10 calls to the consumer between April and October 2019, the only instance of a response came on 5/16/2019 when the person answering the phone, same as the one the consumer uses today, hung up on our staff member. We received a call from the consumer 12/7/2022 who told us she did not remember the service and requested validation of the debt. Those documents were mailed to her 12/20/2022. We cannot speak to a "letter from an attorney", as that would not have anything to do with our company or this account. We filed small claims action and did not get the consumer served. She called in and paid in full 3/1/2023. She called in on 3/2/2023 and asked for a breakdown of the charges. This information was mailed 3/2/2023. The small claims case has been dismissed and the account is paid in full.Customer Answer

I am being garnished by the southern Oregon Credit service and I already am having a hard time paying my bills. I am a single mom of 3 and I work part time and my usually almost $400 check have been literally cut in half because of the garnish. Also, I have not once received anything saying why and for what I am being garnished for.Business Response

We have had a judgment since 2018 for a medical debt. The consumer has not made a single payment or any effort to pay. She has been served with papers for the lawsuit and a subsequent debtors exam which she failed to appear in court for March 2019. We have made dozens of calls to the consumer and spoke to her for the first time June 2021 and again October 2021. She is aware of what the debt is for and she needs to make payments but refuses to do so. Instead she avoids all communication and disputes these valid debtors repeatedly with the credit reporting agencies. Cooperation and communication by the consumer may go a long way in helping her but she has not done those things so far.
