1 starWe are almost one year in this process, and still do not have functional solar panels. The design team was good with communicating and providing different panel layouts. In the design process we requested a certain layout due to a planned future project on our home. The design was drafted and then approved by us. Everything has been awful after that. We signed mid-late summer and the panels were installed in the fall. The panels were installed in a configuration that was never presented to us, and will not work with our planned project. It took some effort to get in contact with the person to correct this due to staffing changes. We were told that the configuration would be corrected in early spring so that sealant could be applied to where there would be holes left behind from the misplaced solar panels. We have had no correspondence with our POC since this despite my husband's attempts to reach out. In May, a person from Xcel knocked on our door and asked if our contractor was present for an inspection to turn the panels on. We were not aware of this, and were thrown off as our issues were not yet fixed. Purelight no showed the power company. Later that day, contractors showed up with no prior notice to move the panels in the pouring rain. I was luckily home on maternity leave at this time or I would have missed them. They did not seem aware that the power company was scheduled to visit that morning. We were told that they could move the panels, but would have to leave the brackets from the old panels because they did not have a roofer with them. We told them we wanted it done correctly, and they agreed to come back at a later time. It is now July and we are still waiting to hear updates. Being able to have the future project is more important to me than solar. I would rather have these panels taken completely off if this can not be resolved.Review fromSam T

******* ******, a door to door salesman with Purelight Power knocked on my door repeatedly even though we have a no soliciting sign clearly posted. After the first time he knocked, we didnt answer but noticed the front door glass panel was shattered. After the second instance, I confronted the solicitor and his initial approach was to lie and infer that he was with the power company. He failed to initially state his name and the company he was selling for. I asked him to produce a solicitors permit issued by the city of ************ and he said he didnt have one. I immediately called the police and officer ****** came out to try to find ******* ****** but he fled on foot.Purelight Power, LLC

**re sorry to hear about your experience, and we absolutely understand how frustrating this must have been. However, wed like to clarify a few things from our end and provide some transparency.
Our representative, ******* ******, was simply doing his job. While we acknowledge that he did make the mistake of ignoring the No Soliciting sign, we want to make it clear that he was not attempting to mislead or disrespect you. According to *******, he was engaging in a conversation with you after you opened the door and showed interest. At no point did he intend to cause distress, and once he realized you were calling the police, he immediately left the property to avoid any escalation. He did not run away; he was at the neighbor's front door, trying to pitch his pitch.
** understand theres concern about the shattered glass panel, but this was ******** first time at your door, and he was not involved in any damage to your property. If you have any camera footage or proof that can help us understand the situation further, were more than willing to work with you on investigating what happened.
** take your feedback seriously, and we will continue reinforcing the importance of respecting customers' boundaries with all of our reps. ** truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we're committed to making sure situations like this are avoided in the future.
If you have any more details to share or if youd like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to us directly at ****************************************************** or call/text ************ (Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM PST). **re here to make things right for you.Review fromS. Overpriced. Sophisticated sales that completely misled me until the final documents ... where I was mentally committed ... The number was $20K more than I *thought* I had agreed ***** would, literally, have been cheaper for me to write them a check for $10K to go away than to get the solar installed.VERY optimistic calculations on pricing.I deeply regret giving the salesperson a chance because I wanted to be polite and hear him out... I feel sick thinking about it.The one upside was the installers we decent.Purelight Power, LLC

Were sorry to hear you feel this way. To clarify, the total system cost remained the same from the proposal through to the final agreement. You were provided full documentation and had a three-day cancellation period to review or withdraw with no obligation.
We always encourage customers to review contracts carefully and ask questions before signing. We're glad you had a positive experience with the installers, and we're here if you have further concerns.S. K.

I think you misunderstood. The sales person was in my house for 3 hours. He seriously misled me in the amount. It was only after 3 hours of getting worked over. And having a SIGNIFICANTLY different understanding of what I was being offered .... on the second to last document I signed - after signing another 5? documents ... did the real costs of the project ********* was insidious psychology. I was misled and make a commitment in my mind to purchase ... at the last moment I am told a different number ... but I had already committed. If I were rational I would have walked away, but I was so emotionally stressed after 3 hours of sales pressure ... If you'd like I can show you the cost-benefit of your system... there is ZERO benefit. If I were a rational person I would have run away from the sale ... but your sales person was effective.I try to make all my business dealing 'win-win' ... this was a 'win-lose' ... and I strongly encourage others to avoid doing business with ******* response, as I read it, is "we did nothing illegal ... so we did good!" ... My take is if you can only win by hurting others ... then switch jobs. Do something else. There are so many opportunities to help people rather than hurt them.Review fromDale H

I have filed a complaint with the *** regarding Misrepresentation and Potential Consumer Law Violations by Purelight Power.I was presented with a proposal for a 5.88kW solar system, designed to produce ********kWh annually, to be installed on my south-facing roof. During the sales presentationand later reiterated via emailthe salesperson assured me that my electric bill would be reduced to just the $13/month grid connection fee. However, a basic review of the systems projected output and my actual electricity usage demonstrates this claim was materially inaccurate and my actual total monthly bill will average $******** addition, the financial proposal presented a total system cost of $27,021.61, followed by a deduction of $8,106.48, and labeled the remainder as the net system cost of $18,915.13. Nowhere in the sales meeting was it disclosed that this line item was not an immediate discount or rebate. On the contrary, a follow-up email from the salesperson stated:Once your permit is approved you will grandfather into the 1:1 net metering with PGE while it is still available and also take advantage of the 30% federal tax credit on the total cost of the system. This language clearly implied that the federal solar tax credit was an automatic financial benefit. However, the 30% federal solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is a non-refundable credit based on an individuals tax liability, which may take years to fully utilize or may never be realized at all. Misrepresenting it as a guaranteed, immediate discount is materially misleading and distorts the actual financial cost of the system. There is much more concerning the sales person's pressure marketing "DocuSign the contract now or else pay more" and "you have three days to cancel" with no mention of assessed fees if you cancel after the three days, and the fact that the sales person and a pamphlet I received state a production guarantee but there is none, but I am out of space.Purelight Power, LLC

Wow, the BBB editing on what I originally submitted was butchered making my submission look very unprofessional which is very disappointing to ***** response is, I find your reply unbelievable. The sales pitch was polished, even the sign now or lose out pressure part when I told the salesperson I would not DocuSign anything until after I took the time to read it thoroughly. There clearly was no transparency since I was given no paperwork except for the salespersons card (which does not have this companys CCB number on it as required by law) and a little booklet that falsely stated that there is a Production Guarantee. And in fact, it took over three and a half hours after the construction contract and the finance contract were emailed to me before the salespersons supporting documents (that I had to request) were emailed to me. There clearly was no ethical sales practice since everything the salesperson said was contradicted by the construction contract.Regarding reaching out to you, I will defer that to the *** as Ive already spent many hours detailing the experience I had with this company to the proper authorities in hopes that companies that use these sales practices will cease doing so.Review fromApril B

We were told lies to sell us the panels, they forced us to trim a tree and told us they would maintain the tree. Every time we called they said they would run an audit and told us they were producing like they should to just give them time. We have asked them to come to our house several times to physically see what is wrong but we just got the run around.we only have a reduced electric bills a couple months through the year. Also in the winter the snow is on the panels and we are unable to go on roof to clear panelI do not recommend their service to anyone.we called the bank who gave us the loan and they were not much help either.Purelight Power, LLC
Date: 03/11/2025
Dear April,
Thank you for reaching out, and I apologize that your experience has not met your expectations. Regarding the tree trimming, we would like to clarify that maintaining the area around your system is generally the responsibility of the homeowner.
We do understand that it took longer than expected for the audit to be completed, and we sincerely apologize for the delay. We recognize that you were eager to receive this information sooner, and we appreciate your patience with us during that time.
As a reminder, your system is designed to produce a certain number of kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually. If your usage exceeds that amount, you will be charged by the utility company for the additional consumption. I noticed that your ticket is still open, and we are happy to go over the details of the audit with you in more depth. Our customer service team will be in touch shortly to assist with any further questions you may have.
In addition, while we do not have a solution for snow accumulation on the panels, we have recommended a product called the "Avalanche SnowRake AVA500," which is available on ****** to our other customers. Many of our customers have found it effective, although its suitability depends on your homes unique characteristics.
We hope this information helps, and we are committed to assisting you in resolving any concerns you may have. Please reach out if you need anything further, thank you.Review fromB. H.

I had solar panels installed by Purelight Power in June 2024, and unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. During the installation, they severely damaged my carport roof beyond repair. It took months of back-and-forth before they finally replaced the roof, causing unnecessary stress and ********* make matters worse, ever since the roof replacement, my solar panels have not been reinstalled, meaning I have been paying my GoodLeap load on with while receiving minimal solar benefits. Despite multiple scheduled appointments for reinstallation, Purelight Power continues to reschedule and delay. Canceling appointments same day! Their lack of urgency and poor communication have left me frustrated and regretting my decision to go with this company. If you're considering solar, I strongly recommend researching other companies that prioritize customer service and accountability. I would not recommend Pure light Power based on my experience.Purelight Power, LLC

Hi ******. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced. As of December 17th, the reroofing work was completed. We had initially scheduled your reinstall for the solar on February 13th; however, due to a recent staffing change in your area, we regrettably had to reschedule your appointment. Your new service dates are now set for March 12th-13th, and we communicated this update to you on February 11th, 2025.
We understand that this delay has caused frustration, and we are committed to exploring reimbursement options once the work has been fully completed. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at ************.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.B. H.

Feb 19, 2025-***Thank you for your response, but I want to clarify the ************ carport had been leaking for nearly six months, and I had to repeatedly call or text to get someone to address it. In December, I was told by your staff member Autumn, that I couldn't get my panels reinstalled until January, and that Purelight would contact me to schedule. That call never came. I reached back out in January and the earliest available was February 11. Then on the day of my re-installation appointment, I was informed that the technician was no longer with the company.Purelight had ample time to reschedule me, yet I was not contacted. I expect my system to be completed as promised, and once the work is done, I will be pursuing reimbursement for the delays and inconvenience.Review fromTrish N

I would avoid this company if you are shopping around for Solar.I had my panels installed October of 2023 and everything up until that point had gone smooth and felt like the communication went great. Then in June of 2024 I noticed on the app that one of my panels wasnt working so I reached out to their customer service team, I was told someone would follow up with me about scheduling a repair. Two weeks went by and I hadnt heard anything so I reached out again, they said they were extremely short staffed and werent sure when they could even put me on the schedule but they would call back end of July/August.I didnt hear from them by mid August so I called again and they said they could tentatively put me on the schedule for November, but made sure to let me know that I would be reimbursed for all the lost production over those 5 months. They finally did get it fixed in November but now they have gone back on their promise to reimburse for all of the lost production for those months because my system still performed up to 90% of what they promised it would. Even though it would have produced more without a down panel for 5 of the sunniest months of the year and it is not what was originally communicated to **** have been very patient up until this point but I can no longer recommend this company to anyone. Every interaction Ive had with them post install has felt like Im dealing with a company ready to go out of business any day now.Purelight Power, LLC

Thank you for sharing your experience, and we sincerely apologize for the delays youve encountered. We understand your frustration and appreciate your patience. Regarding the reimbursement, our production guarantee ensures 90% of the expected output, and after conducting an audit for the affected months, we found that your system actually overproduced at 112%, which is why we were unable to provide a reimbursement. Had the performance fallen below the 90% threshold, we would have absolutely reimbursed for the difference. We acknowledge that weve been short-staffed and have had a backlog, but we are working hard to improve our turnaround times and customer service moving forward. Thank you for your understanding.Review fromG. L.

Is there anything lower than one star. This is a bait and switch operation, first they tell you the electrical company will pay you for over production. Lie The federal tax return will be a check for 30% and you will get a check. Lie The panels were supposed to clean themselves of snow and ice. Lie There will only be one payment to purelight power. Lie Finally they are going to maintain these panels and make sure they operate correctly. Why would they do that, but they said they would, my guess is they are never show.Purelight Power, LLC

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We understand the importance of clear and accurate information, and we want to ensure everything is clarified.
To address some of the points raised:
Utility Company and Solar Credits: The solar credit system with your specific utility operates on a 1:1 basis, meaning that the energy you generate through your solar panels offsets your consumption at the same rate as your utility company charges for electricity. This should help reduce your utility bill, though exact savings can vary based on your energy usage and production.Federal Tax Credit: The 30% federal tax credit for solar systems is indeed dependent on your tax liability. If you're unsure how this applies to your situation, we recommend consulting with a tax professional as we cannot give tax advice.
Snow and Panel Performance: It's important to note that solar panels are not designed to melt snow. While some snow may slide off naturally, it's not recommended to rely on the panels to remove it, as this could affect performance during winter months. The information you received about this is incorrect.
Payment Structure and Usage: Your payment to the lender is separate from your utility bill. If you're paying more than what youre being charged for solar through your utility, this suggests that your energy consumption might be exceeding the production capacity of your solar system. In that case, you may be using more electricity than the system can generate, which could lead to higher utility charges.
Well be forwarding this information to the relevant teams to ensure that the details are clearly communicated, and that there is no further misinformation.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Were here to help, and we want to ensure you have all the correct information to make the best decisions about your solar system.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, feel free to reach out.G. L.
