date: 3/14/2024 I received a parking violation notice for $55 from skyy parking for failing to pay for parking. I followed their instructions for appeals as I never left my vehicle, but they immediately replied saying that my appeal was denied. They referred to posted signage (attached) and said that standing/idling was also prohibited, although that's not stated on their signs or in the terms they referenced.Business Response

This location is private property and requires payment at all times. Vehicle standing is prohibited as posted. Taking any space requires payment. Again, here is a photo of one of the five signs. Please see attached.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:this attached image was provided by skyy parking showing that idling/standing was prohibited. The text is small and partially obscured, and it's unrealistic to expect anyone to be able to read it without getting out of their vehicle.

On 2/10/24 I parked in a parking area near a ******** located in *********, ******.Upon entering this parking lot, both my 21-year-old daughter and I looked around to see if there were any signs stating it was prohibited to park in this lot.As neither of us saw any prohibited parking signage, I proceeded to pull in and park in said parking lot. We then parked for just under an hour while we completed our business,Approximately a week later I received in the mail a parking violation with a photocopy of my vehicle and license plate, stating that it was a ********************** violation and I did recognize the parking lot in the photo of that which I parked in on February 10, 2024.Once again, I reiterated we saw no signage nor any specific signage with a warning that a company would be looking up my vehicle and registration information.Specifically, in the letter it states that they would take no excuses for not paying the violation, INCLUDING not seeing any signage.I would from them photos of where there is signage as you enter the lot and proceed to park in the lot stating that it is a violation and in addition, that they will look up your vehicle and registration information.I feel this parking violation was not valid and that they purposefully have no signage in order to generate income from it.Business Response

You are correct that you did not see prohibited parking signs. This is a commercial parking lot and we want customers to park here and pay by using and of the five QR Code signs. Please see attached photos of the lot signs. We're sorry for your experience but payment is required at this location. If you are able to provide a payment receipt please do so within 30 days of your first mailed notice.Customer Answer

Good morning:
This business that I complained about did not respond to the Complaint I filed with the BBB and the message I received from the BBB is that they are closing the complaint? Does the business not have to respond? I am very frustrated because I paid the parking citation that was due on March 20th on March 18th and it was postmarked that date but Skyy Parking did not cash the check until the 21st of March so they fined me the amount again. How is this even fair? I would like to keep my Complaint open until they are forced to respond as to why I am being charged yet again when I fulfilled the duties that I was to perform. This seems unethical to me.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

Good day,
Your appeal has been received and reviewed. This location requires pay by phone in advance as posted. Failing to see, observe, or obeying these postings upon entering the parking lot will not be an acceptable reason for a dispute. Vehicle standing is prohibited at this location and vehicles left standing, running, or parked are subject to a parking violation. Two 10-minute food order pick up spaces are available where posted. Exceeding this posted time limit *** result in a parking violation. Our records show that your vehicle was given a 5-minute grace ******* We apologize for any inconvenience this experience *** have caused you but there are no valid grounds that would require the dismissal of this violation. As such, any request for dismissal is denied. Please see attached image for parking lot photos of signage indicating payment is required.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I paid the original fine. See attached. I feel we are running around in circles here. I want to know why I am being charged double. For the first payment due on 3/20, I made out the check and postmarked it 3/18 (see attached). Well, they didn't cash it until 3/21 and then charged me another $57 even though by the date of the second letter telling me I owed it again they had my first check in their possession but decided to wait an additional day to cash it just so they could charge me again. I sent in another payment (though I feel it was wrong to charge me again and I am attaching it here with the check and the envelope postdated on 3/29/24 so they can't say I didn't pay the second check.
This whole thing is just ridiculous. They know they are in the wrong but as long as they continue getting away with it, of course they are going to continue doing it.
Sincerely,

And once again we are going in circles. I want an answer as to why I was charged again when I paid the fine in time. Plain and simple, Do not keep sending me the same correspondence I am attaching, I am showing proof I paid the fine in time and that you cashed it so why are you charging me again? Stop going round and round with these bogus responses.Initial Complaint

Received notification of a "parking violation" implying that it was an official parking ticket. Had a picture of our car in it, but no pictures of parking signs, so it seemed like an attempted con. Later went down to lot where supposed "violation" had occurred and newly painted signs had just been put up. None of the signs were placed at eye level nor were they painted with standard reflective paint. In addition, none of the pathways into the parking lot clearly displayed that it was a paid lot. No phone number or email address was provided to contact the company and validate that they were an actual business, so it seemed even more like a con job. Later received notification that it had been sent to a debt collector and they had doubled the "fine". The only phone number available is for the debt collection agency, so it's seeming extremely sketchy at this point.Business Response

ON Feb 7th I entered their lot on *********************************************** Due to a foot surgery, I am unable to easily exit my car so I attempted to use the ** code which would not load, then tried their website which also was not working. After at most, 5 minutes, I left the lot to **************. I then received a parking citation for $55. This is a predatory practice.Business Response

I received a parking ticket on 01.27.24 from SkyyParking. On 01.30.24 I sent a appeal into the company through their appeal program. I'm appealing this ticket because there was a sign in the parking lot that said the first hour and half is free. When I tried to use their online system, it kept giving me a parking cost per hour that was greater that $0 or free. I went into the ***************** where I was eating and spoke with the waitress who told me not to worry about submitting anything and that we would have to be done with our dinner before the hour and half, which we were. I have no phone number to contact this company and I've recently received a late fee notice which doubled my fee. They claim after 30 days they double their fee.Business Response

The sign clearly states that the north side of the lot is complimentaty for 90 minutes and payment is required on the south lot.Customer Answer
Date: 02/27/2024
Thanks for the input, I'm asking for a review of my appeal because the signage and experience I got was conflicting, confusing and mix messages, the signs says pay to park and the sign at the walk way says 1st 90 mins free and the restaurant where the sign was 90mins free parking said we don't have to do anything unless we are going to be more than 90 minutes (which we weren't more than 90mins).
I'm hoping you can understand that can be confusing and anyone would ultimately trust the restaurant who would know the rules of the parking lot. my goal was to leverage the 90 minutes free as advertised.Business Response

Hello,
This location requires payment on the south side of the parking lot. 90 minute complimentary parking is available for Main Street Commons visitors on the north side of the parking lot as inidcated.

I parked in a parking lot that had no signs saying you had to pay to park. Then I received a letter from sky parking saying I was being fined for a parking violation. They failed to provide me with any details of the violation so I applied for an appeal through their website. They never responded to my appeal and are now sending debt collectors. I dont believe this is legal.Business Response

I got a parking ticket (#****** but I think this is the collection agency #) from Skyy Parking's private lot on Washington St. in *********, ******. I saw no signs and had been parking in that lot for many months; I assumed it was associated with the restaurants in the area and was free parking. The original ticket was for $44. I did not receive the ticket as it was sent to the wrong address. How could I pay a ticket I didn't know existed? (I eventually got the ticket from a neighbor.) This was sent to a collection agency. Every person I talked to at this agency was rude and uncooperative. They insisted that the fee was non-negotiable. Skyy Parking is impossible to contact. I have been nothing but cooperative with these people; I want to pay the $44 ticket. I paid the $235.73 to avoid credit problems. However, this is not right. I need help getting Skyy Parking to refund the $235.73 minus the original $44. Do I have any recourse?Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Those signs were put up subsequent to my getting the ticket. I do not dispute the ticket. I dispute the fact that I did not know I had received the ticket BECAUSE YOU SENT IT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS!!!!! Please do not remind me that the *** had that address. I do not dispute that fact. I cannot pay a ticket I did not know I had. I dispute the EXORBITANT and dispicable late fees on a ticket I did not know I had. I will pay the ticket. I want a refund on the ridiculous late fees.

Skyy Parking issued a ticket via mail for a parking violation ******************************************************************************************************. We did not see the sign because it was not placed in front of the parking area. My husband is a disabled veteran and was on his way to a VA appointment. We went into a business and learned the parking area had a fee. 6 minutes after parking, he returned to our vehicle and moved it. This is quite obviously a disreputable business.$55.00 charged for 6 minutes mistaken parking is despicable.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
We saw only one sign which was not visible upon entrance. Granted, l am visually impaired, but the photos sent of these signs is not what we encountered. We would be willing to pay the original fee of $5.00 and the administrative fee but find it a great hardship to pay the unfair and outrageous fee for six minutes of mistaken parking. Why would you suppose anyone would purposely risk a high fee for only six minutes? This business is akin to blackmail and loan sharking. It's despicable.

I parked in the clearly marked free parking for food pickup spots. I did exactly that, picked up my food and then left. This company started harassing me for not paying for parking even after I provided photos of the spot I was in including the sign that calls out complimentary food pickup *************************************************** to collections without any response other than their automated threats. I explained to the collections agent and sent them the pictures. They closed the claim. Now Skyy Parking is emailing me threats again. The newest email threat reads Warning: Vehicle subject to impound and comes from ************************************* is predatory, false, and frustrating. After talking to the business adjacent to this parking lot as well as the collections staff. My experience is apparently not unique. Who owns the space and why would they attack their communities and patrons like this? Absolutely inappropriate.Business Response

A few of the parking violations received by this individual are prior to having complimentary 10 minute parking. A few of the parking violations received by this individual is because they exceeded the posted 10 minute parking limit. Please be advised that having 3 or more outstanding parking violations subjects your vehicle to impound at owner's sole risk and expense.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: The repeated defensive responses of this vendor as well as the lack of evidence to support their claims demonstrates that they have no intention of working with their customers fairly or changing signage to avoid confusion. I also aware that multiple owners/managers of adjacent businesses have contacted you about these issues and that you have ignored them.I am willing to be proven wrong, simply, reply that you have resolved these inappropriate violation(s) as an error on your part. Please, do not try and make an excuse in regards to DMV address or any other nonsense to justify the harm that you have caused myself and this community for our attempts to follow your signage. I would not have parked in the complimentary food pickup if it was not marked for complimentary food pickup, it is that simple. My address is up to date. It is your business practices that are at fault here. Nothing else.

Parked in a lot provided by Skyy Parking. Signage claims there are spots for free parking but signage does not clearly delineate which spots are free and which are pay at all times. All spots are marked as pay to park, despite what ******* says. Payment is only allowed by phone, there are no physical kiosks. Upon receiving notice of failure to pay, fine was 11 times the total of the amount to park. Even the "administrative fee" was more than the amount to park. Appeals are responded to with an automated email and sent from an unmonitored mailbox. The company makes paying and appealing an onerous process and knowingly charges far in excess of reasonable amounts for fines, an issue that the **************** has already worked to address with laws.Business Response
Date: 01/25/2024
The signs clearly state that payment is required in the south parking lot. This stalls even say pay to park painted on each space. Pay by phone is the only accepted method of payment. There is a free garage accross the street if your preferred method of payment is not by using a smart phone. The appeal process is not automated. You were simply not given the answer you would have wished for.
