      Took my car to them for a new battery installation. Left vehicle there and about 2 hours later received a phone call telling me I needed a $1400.00 alternator replacement which I turned down. I was told if I didn't replace it I would be left stranded on the side of the road within a few miles. I went to get to get my car and was informed they were voiding any warranty on the new battery since I refused the replacement. I asked for them to show me with a meter the defective alternators 0v output which they refused to be able to do at that time.I went to another shop two days later and they performed a complete electrical charging system test (for free) and gave me a printout sho2ing everything was working correctly.This business clearly tried to ******* a handicapped senior out of $1400.

      I purchased tires from pep boys website. Picture shown was not was Installed on my vehicle. I was told thats what was ordered online and nothing store can do but to contact corporate. It will be 2 weeks with no resolution. But you give a 30 day or ***** mile warranty. Satisfaction guaranteed. I think not.

      Not happy with service. Horrible turn around time. I had an appointment still waited over 2 hours to be serviced. No proper updates or estimate on service job being complete. Customer ********************** is very dry and not friendly. Due to employee demeanor felt like I had to remind them to do the required check for my oil change service including putting caps back on. Wouldnt recommend.

      I brought my van into Pep Boys Temecula for brake work and was charged over $2,000, including a master cylinder that didnt fix the issue. They only told me about a possible ABS system failure after I paid, then tried to sell me another $2,000 repair. I was also charged for a warranty without my permission. Staff gave me conflicting information, didnt document key details on my invoice, and dismissed my concerns like I didnt know what I was talking about. I later learned they may not have even bled my brakes correctly. *** filed formal complaints with Pep Boys Corporate and the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. ******. Check reviews on platforms first.

      I called Pep Boys scheduled an appointment to have them investigate a coolant smell that I was smelling through the vents inside my vehicle. I made the appointment. They said I was going to have to leave it when initially I told them I didnt have a ride and Id have to sit with it an hour later I came back and I went into pay the $40 for a compression check which later they admitted they did not do and when I went out, they brought the vehicle from the other side of the shop and water was pouring out from underneath. I was in shock And exclaimed what did you do to my vehicle the mechanic said nothing he said thats how it was when you brought it in I said I wouldnt have been able to drive it out of my driveway if that was the case, I called him a liar and said you vandalized my vehicle he said if you dont leave, Im calling the police and I said you fix my vehicle you broke it. He said you give me $1100 and Ill fix it and I said fine call the police but the police never came and I didnt wanna keep sitting there in the parking lot with all my coolant or water dumping on the ground. I did take a video of it before and after I believe it was discrimination. I believe it was bigotry and vandalism. The police lied when they said that they saw the video because I called later and he said he never had time so then I was like why did you lie and say that you saw the video? something very corrupt and shady is going on.

      I had a deeply upsetting experience at this Pep Boys location on May 29, 2025. I brought my vehicle in for a front ball joint replacement and wheel alignment, and was charged $775.96. What followed was a series of unethical and unacceptable practices:

      1. I was charged for a warranty and shop fee without my knowledge or consent, in clear violation of NJ consumer laws.

      After the service, my vehicle had multiple safety issues (ABS, steering, traction control warnings), which were not present before. The assistant manager Anthony refused responsibility and falsely claimed these were pre-existing.

      2. I was not provided with an alignment report, raising doubts about whether the service was even performed.

      3. Most disturbingly, I was treated with rudeness, hostility, and disrespect by a manager (Anthony), which I believe was based on my race, skin color, and appearance. This felt discriminatory and humiliating.

      4. I was also pressured to pay more for diagnostics to fix problems they likely caused.

      5. Despite raising these concerns, Pep Boys has refused to take accountability. I have filed formal complaints with the NJ Attorney General’s Office, Division of Consumer Affairs, and Division on Civil Rights.

      I strongly advise others to avoid this location. The experience was not only unprofessional and unsafe—but discriminatory and unlawful.

      I went to Pep Boys #*** in March 2025 for A/C repair. I was told my compressor had junk in it and needed replacing. Paid $1,100 for a new compressor, o****** tube, accumulator, refrigerant, and labor. A/C **************** May, the A/C was blowing warm again. I returned. First I was told a cooling fan was unpluggedstill no cool air. They took it back, then told me I now needed a new evaporator and condenser for $2,400. I was told these werent mentioned in March because theyre expensive to replace. I declined.On the way home, I heard a loud noise. The cooling fan assembly FELL OUT from under the car and dragged on the road. I removed it myself and called the shop. They said bring it in. They reinstalled it and claimed two bottom clips were broken, and zip-tied it back in place.The next morning, I checked their work. The fan was installed UPSIDE DOWN. Only one clip was broken. My dad and I reinstalled it correctly in 30 minutes.I later spoke to the store owner. His excuse? He didnt install the fan, just secured it. He admitted they didnt have a service manual for my cars cooling fans. He offered me a free oil change and a discount on the $2,400 repair estimate.I declined. These chain stores hire techs who rely on step-by-step instructions and lack basic mechanical sense. I will never bring my car here again and recommend others do the same.

      These people at this location are conartist took the car for a diagnostic test upon the diagnostic test they told me that I needed it gaskets and spark plugs changed. They gave me an estimate of $4800 because I said that was too high they came down to $3033.46 that was march 17 on march ******************************************************************** to seek help from them fast forward to today now I need a new engine they didnt see that on the diagnostic it was no way for them to see that ?????? these people think because Im a woman I dont know about cars dont ever spend money with these people they are thieves ??

      ***************** ******* beware!! Made an appointment for 1:30 for freon. Was told the wait a minute for the estimate. Sat there until 2:30. Got up and inquired and was told there was four cars in front of me. Why in the h*** do you make a reservation then!!! Then the estimate was $270 for 26 oz of old freon. By then you're already screwed because they've had you sit around for an hour. So buyer beware we need to walk in and give them a pep talk about exactly what you want in your timeline or else they will just s**** you over!!! That's the last dollar these people will ever get from me!!!!
