I took my car in to get four tires replaced that I had already purchased. After waiting over an hour after my initial appointment time, I was told that my front tires did not fit. I was later told that I need to buy new tires in which I tried to do within the hour. To my avail, a pep boys rep purchased two new tires that was said to arrive the next day. They did not. I came back 07/29/22 to get them put on after being told they had arrived. A new mechanic would take over the job of replacing my two from tires. The new mechanic said that I did not need new tires and that the former Mechanic did not put the wheels on correctly and that is why my previous tires did not fit. I do not have the luxury to be without a vehicle as this is my only car. The new tires had been mounted by this time and I could not be without a vehicle for any more time as it was passed closing time and I can not be without a vehicle for any more time. I was forced to buy new tires that I did not need by the pep boys technicians.

Took my good running. 1989 car to PepBoys in Elmont for inspection and when I picked it up the car lights were cockeyed because the mechanic did not put the stick that holds up the hood in the right place and the car could not start and I had to tow it home on my dime although the car was checked prior to-going for inspection. The car drove perfectly fine to the shop. They did try to help starting the car but nothing happened. The manager said I should bring it back to be checked by the master mechanic; now I am afraid of taking it back for fear of more damage.

David always takes such good care of us! So much so that when my daughter had a flat tire, he stayed late so that he could make sure she was safe! We won't go anywhere else! He is the reason we will
always be loyal to Pepboys. Thank you David for all that you do! We are grateful for you!

My Subaru was given a false diagnostic and i never received a copy of it by the service desk at the pep boys in hamden C.T, i was told my engine was not giving out any codes and that a piston was causing the knocking noise which doesn't come up on anything. i was told i needed a new engine and was quoted at over 5k for the job which was insane. After picking up the car weeks later and taking it to another mechanic it was fixed within the hour and i was given the error codes which indicated i had cylinders misfiring which was caused by worn out spark plugs. how could they have missed this if a complete diagnostic was done ???
The car must have not been checked at all i am guessing it was all based on the sound they heard from the engine. If a mechanic would have really looked at this car it would have been noticed and fixed asap . I called the store and the manager lied to me about how they told me the issues the car was coding. when they did not at all nor did they provide me with a copy of any diagnostic test , they really just tried to get me to buy a new engine without showing me any proof of what they did. This is very Very upsetting and i really hope they are not doing this to other people especially the elderly.
I would appreciate a refund for the so called engine diagnostic that was performed.
i manage a Medical delivery service with over 5 cars and i used to take them all to pep boys to get serviced but not anymore
I will never visit a pep boys again after this horrible experience and being lied to by the tech and the manager

On June 11th I took my car to Pep Boys Auto, located at *** *** ******* ********* *** *****. I took the car in for service at this location as my check engine light turned on while driving. As I was not near my local mechanic, I took my car to this location. I was informed that my front brakes were "in the red" and needed to be replaced as soon as possible. The serviceman Courtney told me that the brakes would be done, and they would call me when the work was complete. Several hours later, I received a call from Courtney and was told that while they were removing the brakes, the "calipers” broke and they would have to replace these "calipers". I was shocked when I was informed the price doubled, but at this point, I had no choice as the vehicle was already in their possession and as a mother who drives with her child long distances, I was fearful – for safety reasons, of not getting the additional work done. Courtney additionally told me that the rear brakes were in the red as well and needed to be replaced. As the cost had doubled at this point, I told Courtney, I wouldn't be able to service the rear brake at this time and asked him how much longer I could drive w/ the rear brakes in this condition. Courtney replied that they needed to be done asap.
On July 13, I took the vehicle in to my mechanic - who has been servicing my vehicle for several years - to have the rear brake work done. Upon removing the tires to service the brakes, my mechanic called me to inform me that my brakes did not need to be replaced. He in fact told me that the brakes had a while to go before they needed to be replaced. He was also able to see the work that was done by Pep Boys and told me that he could see the calipers that I was told needed to be replaced, was not the case and there had been unnecessary work done on the vehicle. Lastly, I will point out that while at Pep Boys I specifically asked them to point out any other potential issues as I often drive long distances wit

The front-line employees were really nice, not the service. I can't believe certified mechanics will change the oil without Audi certified parts and clean oil.
Assistant service manager says the mechanic didn't have Audi certified parts (oil plug) so he left it loose not to damage the oil pan. Oil slowly leaked out leaving oil stains. The dip stick showed there was no oil trying to leave me with the liability.
I suggest if your vehicle has to be towed back to Pep Boys make sure they give you a list to discuss with your dealer service center.

I have an 8 am appointment scheduled today Monday July 25th 2022 at the **** ** ****** *** PepBoys location. You have wasted my time and have cost me money by refusing to utilize PepBoys Credit Mobile Pay option for AC repair services today that my family member is paying for. I already verified the process and for you to turn me away is absolutely disgusting. Thank God for the PepBoys at **** ** ****** *** **** *** for their competence, willingness to reschedule another appointment for me TOMORROW (despite the fact that I can not afford that because I'm supposed to be working) and utilize PepBoys Credit Mobile Pay. Please get some TRAINING. Wow! Maybe I have the wrong face for you. You really should be ashamed. DO BETTER PepBoys. Absolutely disgusted??????

So I was contacted by store’s assistant manager from Centereach branch and offered to bring the car back when or if I need to get a repair and they will make it up to me. Well, I did that. Water pump broke down and brought the car to pep boys. They kept the car for one day and one night. Next day they called back and told me that they have to run Diagonostics tests. I asked TESTS? manager said, one test is for engine test and second test to see where the noise is coming from.
So total to run TWO diagnostic tests will cost $231.00. LoL
Took the car across street and they replaced the water pump charged me $475. PEP BOYS is unstoppable.
I was robed once by PEPBOYS but second time just wasted my time.
Never ever, ever I will go to pep boys
