      Waited nearly 8 weeks for a part to come. Part came in, I left car overnight for all day work to be done. They called me that work was done, advised me for additional work to be done, if I'd give them a credit card number all would be ready by 5PM. I declined additional work suggestions, plus declined giving my credit card number. Arrived at 5PM, my car was still not ready, needing "additional adjustments". Finally, at 8PM, I was given my car back. Told that the ordered part was the wrong part. They installed it anyway. I was told the correct part will again be ordered and they will call me when it's in. My car is fine to drive as is - it will run rough (which it did) and it leaked oil all night in my garage. No charges though. I took the car to another mechanic, waited 2 days for the part to arrive, they had my car for 24 hour, plus gave me a loaner car. I picked up my car the next day and all is working fine. Pep Boys Palatine has yet to call me about the re-ordered part (1 week later). After 2 cars and 18 years with this Pep Boys location - I will never go back to them again.

      Store #88 Richmond Virginia..... This company (Pep Boys) is pathetic!!!!! I had a brake pad job done. The techs did not do the job right. I've been back to the location where they investigated the brake pad wearing and hot spots on the rotor. They tested the caliper and said nothing was wrong with it. Then they proceeded to charge me for a brake system flush which I didn't need and still don't think they did. I have now been back to the location for the 5th time now for them to correct the problem which they told me would be a 1 1/2 hour wait. 4 hours later and they still haven't pulled my truck in to the shop. One employee came out and told me it will be another 1 1/2 hours before they could get my truck in. That would mean I have been at this shop for 5 1/2 hours on the 5th visit to get their problem corrected. This is totally unacceptable when any other brake shop would have done this right the first time and I would have never had to go back and keep getting the runaround. To add to the frustration..... I contacted Pep Boys Corporate Office/Customer Service by email about this and I keep getting the same emails asking for information so your field team can investigate which no one ever contacts me except for sending me the same emails over and over.
      Today, Monday August 1, 2022, I went to My Mechanic (1 Stop Auto Repair) in Midlothian Virginia to have a belt tensioner replaced and asked them to check my brakes. The mechanic came back to me and showed me that the brake pads were put on wrong on the front of my truck. One pad was almost worn all the way down because it was caught on the caliper guide pin and wouldn't relax off rotor when brakes were released. They corrected this problem and gave me the pads that pep boys put on as evidence. Again.... this is totally unacceptable!
      Word of Advice........ "Don't take your vehicle to Pep Boys if you want the job done honestly and right!"

      This Union City Location replaced my alternator and did not recharge my battery after keeping my care one week. The day I picked my car up I drove to my first location but my car would Not start back up. We tested the battery which was low below 12V so I jumped it off and went back to Pep Boys. They would not replace or recharge my battery without leaving my car with them. I have to work so I just bought a battery from another customer. That being said I just purchase this battery from pep boys! Horrible experience!

      I had an issue with a grinding noise on my Cadillac SRX. Took it to Pep Boys July 2022 to be checked. Was told it was the bearings. This was suppose to be fixed by Pep Boys, I paid $830 dollars that day. I leave from there drive home and the problem still exist. So, I called right away and explained the problem is not fixed. Made another appointment to bring it back. I took the car back, waited 2 hours to be told I need to bring it back for the third time. What was the purpose. I was told the car is drivable. At this time now, I had an appointment with the Cadillac dealership for a toe link recall. While I was there, I ask the dealership to check my brakes due to the sound and grinding noise. It was a Bolt missing that was causing the problem from the brakes. I had Cadillac to fix it and was told I should not be driving with that issue I could have injured or killed myself or others in an accident. I have made numerous calls to Pep boys customer care and spoke with the manager at the Harrisburg store in North Carolina. I specifically told the SM I am not bringing my car back for the third time, for what not to get fixed. I told the SM to refund my money. I was told by the SM ,she needed to get with her DM. This has been on going 3 weeks now, and not no one has called after several attempts with customer care for my refund. I was told the SM closed out my case and stated I refused the refund...Are you Kidding me. The store did not render service twice and I had the dealership to fix it, you lied to the corporate office that I do not want a refund. After I spent $830 for a service not complete. I have asked for the DM to call after 3 to 4 attempts. I am still waiting. I will not take any of my 3 vehicles to Pep boys. This is unacceptable.

      Submitted Complaint "Poor Customer Service & Shabby work" Case# 829936 Aug 5, 2022
      Aug 8 was contacted agreed to meet that day, came to a settlement to pay half of the tow
      of $125.75 I received $62,87, there was another issue of concern I brought to his attention
      that day and one other time before.
      July 28, 2022, I received an email
      Subject Line Stated "Let's Reschedule Your Appointment"
      Body of Email.
      Hello Dear Rod.
      Sorry you couldn't make your recent service appointment with us -- do you want to set another time? Just [click here] to reschedule. Thanks for letting us know you couldn't make your appointment. We hope to see you soon.
      Every word that was said on my behalf was fabricated, the words that were falsely stated
      need to be remove from email server or were every store emails.
      I refuse to be his SCAPEGOAT for this POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

      Terrible customer service. Brandon should not be a manager. Threatened to call the police on me because they rip people off but didn’t know that I worked for dealerships for 14 years. Rolled his eyes at me while I was explaining why I was disappointed. Made an appointment multiple times to be told they are too busy or don’t have enough technicians. I called the police myself and even the officer turn to me after witnessing Brandon’s attitude and stated “If I were you I’d take my car elsewhere because this guy is very unprofessional and I wouldn’t feel comfortable with him touching my car.” He then thought he looked like a big guy by ignoring me and talking to other customers. Unfortunately, he didn’t know these same customers approached me while I was waiting outside for the police with sympathy and upset about what they’ve just witnessed. My husband just graduated AIT and is stationed in Fort Bragg. I just had a baby the previous month and came to pep boys to get my AC fixed before my husband came to pick the vehicle up to head back to Fort Bragg. When I asked for the number to corporate from Brandon he sarcastically stated “1-800-pep boys. When I asked for his last name, he stated “I don’t have to give you that information.” He was by far the most disrespectful, arrogant, unprofessional service manager that I have ever seen. I wouldn’t take this shop serious at all. Don’t bother setting an appointment, because they will tell you they are backed up each time. They do this to push your repair day if you are a “come back” as they do not want to cover the warranty. Don’t allow these people to touch your vehicle. They told me I had a small leak just to charge me to recharge it when in doubt the leak was big because the refrigerant leaked out the next day. When told this Brandon stated “well why didn’t you bring it back.” When I told him it was because I just had a baby, he stayed “well who’s problem is that.” He needs to be replaced by a professional service manager.

      This company has horrible customer service and horrible technicians. They installed a bad timer belt and alternator on my truck which caused me to break down twice. It’s also taking very long almost a week to get my car service after returning it back to them.

      Mississippi Ave, Denver/Aurora. Wentthere and it was a 3-4 hr. For a prearranged appointment. Disgusting- with no co-ordination with branches. Appointments are useless. Then I found they wanted to make a killing ona simple flat tire wanted to sell me 4 new tires! Because I had 4x4. Waist of time with this outfit! Drove away and got immediate help from a local shop ghat had a real desire to please. When Pepboys had no desire to please, glad I went elsewhere. My only visit will never happen again! .

      ( Glendale pep boys) I was having financial hardship and could only afford a certain amount, I knew what I needed fixed and told the tech and sales person what it was and was sure of it. I let them know I’m having a hard time and can’t afford much. They insured me on pay a very high amount and harassed me multiple time In front of other customers. It was quit embarrassing and humiliating. I would love for pep boys to listen to the and fox what needs to be fixed not excessive things that are not needed.
