1 starI took my truck in for an oil change and tire rotation. I waited for the vehicle, **** the service writer to check the left tire for a slow leak. I sat and watched the more experienced technician train another technician on how to change engine oil. They did absolutely nothing to the tires. When I asked about the tire rotation the service writer replied we didnt have to do the rotation because they all had the same measurement. But we noticed that you need a front wheel bearing. When I assured that I didn't, he said well thats what we noticed. I paid for the oil change and took the truck. WORST AUTO SERVICE *** everReview fromRalph C

1 starI been a loyal customer for 7 plus years. Took my SUV in for regular tire rotate and balance along with an alignment check. I made a 10:30 AM appointment, I waited 1.5 hours before it was brought in for a lift. Another 1.5 hours went by and my vehicle was finally put on the alignment rack. Once the work was completed I was given my paperwork. I wasn't a mile down the road and my vehicle my pre collision dash light came on along with the lane departure light came on as well. Spoke to mechanic and his scan tool was not charged and it took an hour to reload. Once scan tool was usable mechanic said I needed to drive 15 miles as so the system would reset. I drove the 15 miles returned to Pep Boys and stated that it did not reset. The manager then proceeded to tell me that the vehicle had been damaged and they didnt cause the light issue. He then stated I had two choices to take a refund on some lifetime service or he would call the police and charge me with trespassing. I was despondent in the treatment I was given as a loyal customer. Apparently this business cares very little about return business and not taking care of their customers.Review fromDesmond T

1 starThis place is a joke. Not even surprised by the many other 1-star reviews. This is stemming back from April. I came it to get new tires. It took 4 hours. I complained and then I was told to come in and speak to the service manager. By the time I came in I had purchased a different vehicle as the private sale of the vehicle I bought tires for didnt work out. They offered a free oil change on my next visit. I clearly explained that I have a new vehicle and it would be a while until I needed the oil change. Was told it was fine, and I got it in writing from the service manager with a signature. I come in to get an oil change. Not only is it a 2 hour wait for an oil change, the service manager himself will not honor the free oil change that he offered and signed for. This place is terrible. Never again.Review fromJuan C

1 starI wish I could give Pep Boys in Countryside, IL ZERO STARS! Paid 650 for an alternator and it didnt solve the problem. Took it back in and they quoted me 525 for a new starter. Their manager *** has no business moral code. I cannot find anything positive to say about this Pep Boys, except they have the art of ripping off their customers to an exact science.Review fromSamora D

1 starI am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I have received regarding a tire purchase. On November 19, 2024, at ************************************. I, ****** M. *******, pre-paid for a tire, including a $30 installation fee. At the time of purchase, I was informed that the tire needed to be ordered. On November 22, 2024, I contacted your establishment to inquire about the status of my order. I spoke with Manager ***** ******, who initially handled my purchase. Mr. ****** first incorrectly stated that the tire had been installed on November 19th. I informed him that this was not the case. After a disagreement, he then stated the tire would arrive the following Monday and could be installed at that time.I requested Mr. ******** boss contact information so I could escalate this issue. He provided only the first name "******" and refused to provide any further contact details, such as a phone number or email address. Instead, he directed me to leave a message through your company **********. ****** offered to credit the $30 installation fee and recharge it upon installation. I find this offer unsatisfactory and does not address the inconvenience caused by the conflicting information and lack of communication. On November Mr. ****** called to advise the tired was in. When I went to the store *** Rizee refused to install the tired, so I took it the next day to Pep Boys at **************************************** where they installed the tires with no problem and everyone there was helpful and professional.I request a prompt resolution to this matter, including confirmation of the tire's arrival date and a firm installation appointment. Due to the unsatisfactory handling of this situation, I plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau if the matter is not resolved promptly and to my satisfaction.Review fromSven T

1 starTHESE GUYS ARE SCAMMERS ! I went there with my car not sounding great oil pressure sensor was on, but it was running . They get back to me a few days later and tell me that its a gasket problem along with a long list of other things that I need to get changed on the car, including cabin filters, another small things. I explained to them that I am a young, struggling student with not much money, And I will get everything fixed on the car with them, but for the moment I needed what was just necessary. Despite this comment, they still put on there to change cabin filters, air filters, little things that did not matter to make a quick extra ***** I get the car back and it immediately shuts off on me while driving up to the store. So before it was running with A slight oil, pressure problem, to completely stopping on me and dying in the middle of driving 50 miles an hour, potentially almost killing me and my girlfriend. Mind you this is after spending over $1000 in repairs with them, my car is effectively worse. I then bring my car back to him, and explain whats going on. They have my car for almost 2 weeks, I have to constantly call them and pull teeth to figure out whats being done to my car and whos looking at it, they tell me the same story almost every time I call that theyre having a specialist to come look at it, and hes coming tomorrow. Now theyre saying that the car is no longer their responsibility, and that they fix the car and now it has a new set of issues, and thats not their problem. Even though the car was running better before I took it to them!!!!!! These people are complete jokes, and have no moral compass. Do not take your car to them.Review fromCarlos O

1 starOn 3/3/2022 I've decided to change my tires in one of uyour locations Sunrise florida. I've bought four new cooper tires 225/65R17 102H Tour I've paid extra for road hazard my card had at that time 35942 miles Paid $655.84.
I've only use my car for commute 5 miles back and forth from work.
On June of this year I've made a rip to Orlando, on my way back I've noticed that my car was vibrating and bumping on one side. Back in town I've took my car to sunrise after a long wait they told me that one of the tires was totally open on the inside they were able to see the metal wires inside but they didn't check all other three tires. So I have to change that tire. Even with warranty and road hazard I have to pay $129.41 to replace that tire, I've complained with no avail Miles 52256
A couple of months later my was again vibrating and bumping so i took it again to sunrise only to find out that all the three tires were bad with bubbles and broken inside and i needed to replace all of them. Now I had to pay $383.87 again with the warranty and road hazard. Miles 54054.
So I've paid a total of $1,169.12 for 4 new tires.
I do not think is fair that i had to go through all that nonsense and all that money for a new set of tires.
In my entire life 62 years never had a problem like this before.
I don't think it was prorated correctly and I don't think i should have paid anything extra for defective tires.
They replaced with Cooper tires again, so how can I be sfure that iwill not have the same issue againReview fromElridge D

1 starI took my work van on a Monday never heard from them again and today is Wednesday and I still do not have a Price to repair my van the mechanic called me and told me he did a diagnostic but didnt know the van was in the shop for that was unbelievable. Theyre charging me for a diagnostic and do not know what theyre looking for. I came to pick up my van to take it to another shop and front desk staff was very disrespectful. Ive never seen so many people standing around doing nothing and people are waiting to be served. I would never recommend the Pep Boys on 134th in **************** IL. they shouldve kept the staff that they had before.Review fromRandy D

1 starLast September I frequented your Baytown Texas location with one of the worst episodes of customer service and daytime drama I could ever have.
It started when we went in to buy a set of tires. The acting manager seemed flustered right off the start. We sat in the waiting room for two hours listening to tales of the acting manager telling us how he had not had a day off in 30 days, how the actual manager had disappeared leaving him in charge with no relief, as well as some quips back and forth with the service tech.
After two hours of our car not being complete I started to wonder how far along we were so I checked and our car had not even been pulled into the bay to be started. I would also tell you we were the only customers. Then the acting manager and the tech started quibbling back and forth and they finally got the car pulled in. After another 3 hours total they finally finished our car and their only customer.
Fast forward to last month my wife hit a pothole so I looked and we did buy the road hazard protection. After getting the rim fixed I went to your location on the southwest frwy in Houston, Tx. The manager was very nice and helpful, but with my road hazard protection it still cost me over $168. I will tell you the tires we purchased were American Tourer with 60k mile rating and the vehicle had been driven less than 20k miles in 1 year.
Fast forward to last week my wife, an ICU Nurse, was driving on the freeway and had a blow out. That is a whole ,missed day of work and people who did not receive the care they needed since she could not make it to work. We purchased 2 new tires with the intent to buy the other 2 in the near future due to not having the funds, and 1 of the tires is basically brand new.
When the tech starts changing the tires he brings to my wife's attention that the tire tread is separating from the tire including the brand new one. Less than 20k miles on 60k rated tires. Crappy Product
Thanks,
