I think several of these complaints experienced the same complaint that I have. Pep Boys failed to resolved their car maintenance problem but still charged them an inflated price for their service.

I'm completely disappointed. Pep boys in **************, off **********. They sold me a tire I did not need, failed to see that my a whole piece of my front bumper was hanging loose. After believing they would fix my car by telling me my tires were no good but the right front passenger side was the worst, now mind you they failed to see the nail in my front driver's tire when they checked the alignment so anyways when I got on the freeway the problem persisted so I knew that they didn't fix it. I had to take it to another mechanic and have them look at it and while he was driving it that's when it happened and the bumper actually did loosen itself enough to make the mechanic stop and look at it. The employee at pep boys took my car for a test drive at 45 miles per hour it started to shake and make noise he said he took it up to 70 and it made no noise no shake and even went over the railroad tracks with it I do not believe him at all so I never needed tire. so I never needed tires in fact my tires were just fine so I went back to that pep boys and I asked him if I can have a refund because I never needed a tire to begin with I think you took advantage of me being a female and not knowing about my car they told me they couldn't we argued a little bit and then finally he said he'd bring refund me back the tire amount but not the other $50 put the stupid tire on my car I took that tire off my car for them so that they wouldn't charge me to put it back on. I gave them their tire back they gave me a rim back why couldn't they give me my tire back too. so now we're going from Friday the 13th of this month today's what the 19th 20th and they still want to honor me my tire back I keep asking for my tire back or one of equal value that is only rightful for them to do I'm driving on a spare right now on my car I can't do much go far in my car with a spare on it it's not cool at all I want my tire back or one of equal value. It's only rightful

This was my first experience with pep boy automotive and I dropped my car excusivly for the diagnosis of my car air conditioning not working. As mentioned on their website a general inspection of the vehicle was totally free of cost while if needed specific ac system tests be performed at $49.99 price. They emailed me a general inspection test report in which ac compressor was checked ok like several other car components. When I asked about trouble shooting of my ac issues, they just verbally told me that whole ac system needs replacement and provided me an estimate more than the car current market value.I was not provided report of the ac specia tests and charged me $58 just for the vehicle general visual inspection.when I asked why they charging $8 More for the ac specific tests which they actually did not performed.Their response was that it is tax plus some material cost used in tests which was not previously mentioned

Pep Boys at ***************************************. kept my car over 4 months and failed to repair it. I took my car to Pep Boys for a diagnostic test on or about April 7, ******. I was told the alternator was the problem. The alternator was replaced.2. Car cut off on me in the middle of traffic minutes after picking it up from Pep Boys.3. Car was towed back to Pep Boys. (car was towed back to Pep Boy two different times) after car was supposed to be fixed.**Note: After alternator was replaced that didn't fix the problem with my car, so I took the alternator that they took off my car and had it checked...turns out nothing was wrong with my alternator, it was GOOD!! They also' blew up" my battery when they put on the new alternator, So, they charged me for the new alternator, and I had to paid them for a new battery before they would complete the work on my car.4. My car was there for weeks. 5. The first ******* was replaced before my car was repaired.6. The second ******* said he was not informed of the problem with my car, so no work was done on it.7. After weeks of ************ with the ******* about the problem with my car he said he was waiting for a master mechanic to come set the timing.8. After 4 months being without my car, I went to the Pep Boys to have my car towed from there. I found new ******* (#3). He and mechanics replaced the previous ******************* and had not been informed on the status of my car.9. *** towing arrived to tow my car to Jaguar Dealer. Manager (#3) gave me the car key to open the hood, we found multiple parts had been left disconnected and inside my car had been trashed.10. The service advisor from ****** informed me that parts were missing off my car when it arrived at their dealership. I advise everyone who reads this review not to take your car to Pep Boys

My car was stolen 5 days after getting an oil change. I believe they copied my key fob due to the video of a car stopping behind mine. Took one minute to unlock it and two to get it started after going to the other vehicle to who knows what. I took it to PepBoys in ************ for new tires and around 2 months later an oil change. Did I mention the **** sas in the video looked like an employed car?? I believe they do not care who they employee and that is why I thought it was weird the 2 fast 2 furious employee was eyeballing time after an oil change...bam 5 days later car stolen..Oh did I mention I had new tires installed too about 4 months earlier? WTF I am active duty military and feel like I was robbed by those who get freebees.

I called the Pep Boys at **************************************************** at 4:14pm on 9/13/2024 to discuss the return of a defective alternator and to have another installed by that location. The manager ******,put me on hold for 30 minutes. I hang up and called back and spoke again with the manager ****** and briefly explained my issue and informed him that I would bring my car there on Saturday 9/14/2024 to resolve the issue. AutoZone and Pep Boys share the site and that is where I purchased the alternators for my car. I arrived at 11:16am on 9/14/2024 and proceeded to make sure the AutoZone had the alternator, they did. I then went next door to Pep Boys to find if they could install the alternator which I purchased next door at the AutoZone. ****** informed me that the work would not carry a guarantee, in the most untrustworthy way. I asked why he would say that even though I bought the item from the same place they would likely retrieve the alternator. Again being disrespectful, ****** curtly stated that they will not perform repairs on my car at all. I needed to speak to a different manager. I asked nearby employees if this man was actually the manager. I was met with deafening silence from all of them. I feel as if this situation could have been handled with a bit more respect since the cost for a new alternator, batteries and service, are astronomical. We as customers should never be treated as if we are optional just because we ask questions. ******: should be retrained in Customer **********************.

Ive taken my car to Pep Boys for quite a long time for oil changes and tire rotations. I purchased new tires in April 2024. These mechanics are supposed to notify their patrons of work needing to be done. My tires have been off the car more than once and they never notified me that my brake pads were going bad. Do to this, my rotors were damaged causing me to spend an extra $184 x 2 rotors I should not have had to replace. This was negligence in their part and I should have only needed brake pads. Since it was negligence on their part I feel they should be responsible for my damaged rotors not me. I would like a refund for only the rotors. My total bill was $866.28
