My mom has been getting her garbage picked up every week and is billed for it and pays her bill. 4 1/2 weeks ago she got a bill from another garbage company for over $500. I called them and they said “we bought out the contract to pick her garbage up in 2021. She was never notified and she continued to get service and pay her bill so she had no clue. Waste management was picking up her garbage. They had stated they had made a mistake and will refund her in 6-12 weeks. Now county hauling isn’t accepting that and want her to pay all the late fees associated. They refused to let me speak to a supervisor and refused to give me a name of someone above them. I have contacted the boro and mayor but it has not been taken care of. She is an elderly lady in her 60’s on disability and they refuse to work with her or anything. They waited 1 1/2 years to figure out they made a mistake and now they haven’t picked up garbage for her at all but expect her to pay for it and the late fees. I have lived at my residence in Shaler for 16 years. Never had an issue with a garbage company til County Hauling took over. I do not receive bills. I have been over this with them 3 times now. I get a phone call out of no where stating my garbage will be shut off. Meanwhile never got a bill. I don't get a bill, I can't pay. Then they expect you to pay some huge amount to stop your garbage from being shut off. People like me who live paycheck to paycheck can not afford to make these huge payments. It is not my responsibility to do billing for them. They have people ho are employed to do this. Again, if I don't receive a bill, I don't pay. They are asking for an outrageous amount that you have to pay even before you can start making their so called payment plan. They can't expect people to dish out all this money when it is them who are not sending the bill. I am not the only person who has this issue either. There are tons of complaints on their billing or lack of a bill. I guess people's garbage is going to get shut off because they can't afford to make the ridiculous amount they want up front.Business Response

County Hauling began charging us for residential services at this business address, even though we have had an Commercial account in good standing with Waste Management for over 30 years at this address. Assuming service providers were switching, our clerical staff paid these illegitimate bills monthly for a total of $333.00 before contacting County Hauling (CH) and informed them we have NOT RECEIVED ANY SERVICE from them for over 6 months. With our 1st ( documented) phone call on 9/22/22, we were told we would be receiving a refund of $333 for mis-billing within 30 days. After 13 add'l calls ( all documented, and 7 emails, as well as unfulfilled requests for a call from a supervisor, no refund has been issued.
On Feb 8, I received an email stating my refund would take up to 30 days. Four add'l calls, and 3 add'l emails ( suggested by CH agents) still have not resulted in our overdue refund.
Each agent states they have NO boss, NO supervisor, NO manager, or NO shift leader that they can forward our concerns to. Can you assist in having a supervisor contact us and get us the refund we were promised since last September?

County Hauling is to bill me quarterly. They have not billed me since December of 2022! I have contacted them several times asked for a bill they keep saying its coming out. What will happen is they will send me a late bill for several over the quarter months with late fees they are notorious for doing this. I would like a specific date ON TIME. County Hauling picks up the garbage for our municipality. I received a quarterly bill from County Hauling for the first quarter of 2023 for picking up my garbage for $40. I paid the bill as I always do. I recently received a bill for the second quarter of 2023 for $120. I was shocked. I contacted them by phone to find out why the bill was so high. They said that the new quarterly fee is now $80, and that I underpaid for the first quarter. I informed them that I paid what was invoiced on the first bill, $40. The lady was very rude with me and said there was nothing they can do about it and to just deal with it. She kept cutting me off when I was trying to ask questions.
I never received anything previously from County Hauling stating that the quarterly fee was increasing, let alone doubling. I've paid every bill that they have sent me on time. The second quarter bill has no explanation on it for the increase, totaling $120, no late fee, nothing, they just expect me to pay.
I feel that County Hauling should have sent out a notice of the rate increases to the municipality, since the borough has a contract with County Hauling to pick up our garbage. We do not have a choice in the matter.
My total billing needs adjusted to $80. I should not have to pay for County Hauling's mistake, and then when I contact them about it, they basically tell me to shove it.Business Response

Trash pickup was supposed to done on 1/10/2023 but no pickup occurred for myself or neighbors. Late in the day we called County Hauling and we’re told we were on the schedule and will be picked up as soon as possible. This went on for 5 days, still no service despite calls each day answered with promises to pick up.
I emailed them on Monday 1/15 hoping someone might be able to redsolve this and they answered with “dispatch said no trash was out on the scheduled day,” which was not true. This is a week later, so I replied to them that I will deduct a suitable amount from my next bill. I would like them to acknowledge.Business Response

The reason is that all of my neighbors trash cans were also still out not only on the appointed pickup day ( Tuesday), but for the remainder of the week as well. We called every day and were assured it would be picked up but it never was, nor was the neighbors’ trash.
I would like County Hauling to adjust my bill accordingly.

There appears to be a misunderstanding. My complaint was for failure to pick up trash on Tuesday Jan 10 2023 (and was not picked up during that whole week) despite phone calls and the fact that it was left out for pickup, as was all of my neighbors' trash.County Hauling claims that there were no cans out and sent you a picture showing there were no cans out, but that picture was taken on Wednesday January 18, 2023 (according to data contained in the image itself), which is a week later. Since County Hauling did finally pick up our trash (and our neighbors' trash) yesterday Jan. 17, of course there are no cans out.
I insist that my neighbors and I deserve a reduction in our bills to compensate.

Purchased property in 2020 and had them create an inactive account for me. I informed them October 30th that I wanted to start my service. At the start of the new year I called inquiring why I have not received my first bill, they informed me that they sent it to *** ****** ** instead of *** ****** *** They proceeded to send through email the bill and how to create an account on their website. It is there that I saw they charged me a service fee in 2021 when my account was inactive and a late fee for the bill that they sent to the incorrect address. I called them again and they asked me to pay the balance minus the incorrect bill and the late fee then it will be waved. After paying for correct balance and leaving the incorrect unpaid I called again. This is when they said that I had to provide proof that my account wasn’t active and that they would not wave the incorrect charge from 2021 and the late fee. My only request is that the fee for 2021 in the amount of $14.55 and the late fee in the amount of $15.00 be waived from my account with them as I can’t be expected to pay a bill on time if I have not received it, and the fact that in 2021 my account was inactive and my property was vacant.Business Response

These are new trash haulers for our area. Trash was to be picked up Tuesdays. Here it is the following Monday and our trash is still sitting there, along with our side of the street for 1/2 mile. Have called and complained thursday, friday, saturday and again today (Monday) all the while being told it will be picked up 24 no later than 48 hours. Today the gal answering the phone continued talking over the top of me and i told her several times I wanted to talk to a supervisor. County Hauling has once again failed to pick up my trash and my recycling. The first time I had to resort to calling the mayor who himself picked up my trash. Again two weeks ago and Tuesday my recycling. Why does the city keep these inept people? They are horrible! I’ve called and called and they still failed to return to pick it up despite my being told “ we’ll get a hold of the driver” each time . No response. My trash was not picked up. It was left out, in bags, in the trash cans right next to all my neighbors yet there's was taken and mine was not. I have called a couple times and was told it was dispatched but yet my trash is still sitting outside in the heat wave. I doubt anyone will pick it up before next week which is unacceptable.
