TOA shows a model home with every upgrade imaginable and the designers don’t tell you this. When you design your home every tiny upgrade you ask for is overpriced and if you assume what you saw in the model will be in your home…it WON’T be, because they put the cheapest quality and lowest quality building products and workmanship in your home. It took 2 years from signing our contract to 95% finish our home so we could settle. We have been in our home for 3 months and still have doors that need replaced because they were Not what we paid for, tile backsplash poorly installed, fuses blow because they put too many outlets on one circuit, ripples in roof, too narrow rain spouts that overflow with heavy rain, downspouts that end 2 feet off the ground and stick out the side of the house 3 feet, outside spigots installed too close to house to screw hose connector on, and get this …. Our roof trusses were laying in the rain and snow ALL winter 2022 December through April and the builder installed moldy trusses!!!! They were black with mold and warped and split! What kind of builder does this? “One who doesn’t care about quality and thinks we are too dumb to notice!” We notified the township and TOA (in the very least) had to have the trusses specially treated for mold and an unrelated building engineer inspect. There was poor work construction that had to be repaired and reinforcement to split trusses which held up finishing our home another 3 months. My father was a builder therefore I watched construction almost day to day, and caught Many mistakes that I insisted be corrected along the way. TOA will tell you you are Not allowed on the premises while it is being built. Guess we didn’t listen…It only got worse afterwards despite our diligence. We are Very sorry we built here. Then you have to deal with an HOA who has the right to tell you what shrubs, trees, and how many bird feeders you can have, plus the fee goes up Every year. Buyer Beware!!!

This builder wanted me to close on a date the house clearly wasn’t ready. Not only was the shower head hanging out of the wall, the showers didn’t even have doors. That was just the beginning of the problems. The follow up work has been a nightmare. I’ve been waiting three months for screens for my 96 year old, WWII vet father. I paid for oak stairs and got pine. 85% of my custom options were missing or wrong. I am in a living nightmare !
Avoid this builder at all costa

This company has very poor leadership and will lie about the date your home will be completed. My home was supposed to be done over two years ago and they continue to make excuses. We will continue to lose money on their lies and delays. They also made many mistakes in construction that will have to be fixed as they didn’t follow the design decisions that were made. Their turnover among staff and leadership is extremely high and concerning. I wouldn’t recommend anyone invest in a home with TOA. They are a very disorganized and disingenuous organization and should be investigated by the BBB. If you are considering moving to a retirement community, make sure you research them and understand your contract.

Terrible customer service. The workmanship is well below par. I’ve been in our house for 4 years and still are paying for the lack of quality. These houses are not cheap but the supplies that they used, are. Buyer beware. Do not trust them. Their sales people are deceitful and you will be forever trying to get things fixed. There are other builders out there. Just walk on past this one! I would never recommend TOA.

TOA should be ashamed of themselves from the owner ** ******** on down. So let me get started. My personal builder and the general manager are not allowed to talk to us and that order was given by Robert Hall who also told us he would take care of things but passed it on and still nothing. Our bench that was suppose to be installed finally got installed and not painted. Our siding is bubbling and told them in October and it’s an eyesore well they say they are working on it. Easy fix remove and replace. The roof is all wavy which they say it’s to industry standards. I asked for these vendors contact numbers but they refused. Shelves that have paint on them since our August move in not fixed as ****** **** said he would take care of. Fire place doesn’t wrap around with stone which we paid for and floor outlet we paid for we did not get reimbursed for since it isn’t installed. They don’t care about disable America Viet nam vets which **** ********* said he doesn’t care if I’m a vet at which I told him to leave my house and no apology. Not one person stopped by about these concerns, not one corporate person as they don’t care about seniors. Maybe they should stop by and see what there builders aren’t doing as there are a lot of people in the same boat A d there design person is the first name that comes up with the most issues. Please read your mission statement and follow it. You are scamming seniors and it will catch up with you. Also spoke to residents in other communities and this cancer of mismanagement is rampant

Thank you for sharing your review. We are sorry your experience fell short of your expectations. The community team has confirmed that all warranty requests are either complete or in the process of being completed. The siding contractor was on site this week to inspect the section in question. We have confirmed with the contractor that they will be replacing the bubbling pieces of siding expeditiously. Our Construction Administrator, who has been in contact with you daily, will communicate the siding installation date once it is scheduled. The shelves with paint were removed this week, repaired, and repainted. The great room bench has now been replaced and is in the process of being painted. The floor outlet and fireplace stone installation are currently being scheduled. We have contacted the roofing contractor and he will be coming out to evaluate the installation. The garage door, which was backordered due to supply chain disruption, was installed this week. Supply of garage doors has been an acute problem nationwide. The Traditions of America team is working diligently on the last few items in your home. These items will all be complete over the next few weeks. As our A+ BBB rating reflects, we take feedback from our home buyers seriously—as we have for over 25 years—and are dedicated to ensuring a positive homebuying experience from start to finish. Please continue to work with your TOA community team regarding any concerns.

The homeowner who posted this review has unfortunately made spurious personal allegations against our employees in a very public manner. We find this speech to be offensive and patently false. Traditions of America has always, and will always, support veterans. We are disappointed this individual has made such unfounded and inflammatory statements.
