I hired PowerHome remodeling to do my windows and sliding glass door. Today while in my basement and finally clearing out storage, I noticed a hole in what is my basement ceiling/kitchen floor. I saw the wooden pieces and looked up. I could SEE MY SLIDING GLASS DOOR! They slammed the door through my flooring and now its visible from my basement. I am sure this is collecting water at this point and caused structural damage.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
No one came to my home this morning so I contacted the Director of Installation services. He says that someone called out and they are trying to figure it out. I took off work this morning to be home and need to leave at 3:15 today. This is ridiculous and I have hired an attorney.Regards,

When Powers put our windows in they told us they were all fully warranteed and if something happened to just call them and they'll come fix it. The exterior pane on our double paned and gassed window absolutely shattered and we have no idea what happened. It just kinda crumbled. When we submitted a request for the repair, they told us they were not going to cover it and that repair wasn't covered on the warranty. Just manufacturer defects. That is contrary to what we were told at the time of purchase. They lied to us. We would have tried other companies if we had known they don't cover their work.Business Response

Attached to this response are copies of Power's lifetime labor warranty and *****'s manufacturer window on the windows. These are the same warranties that are presented in every demonstration that Power's Remodeling Consultant's give in the home. Power, as the dealer and the installer, covers any labor related problems that might arise over the course of the lifetime of the product. Power does not manufacture any of the windows that Power sells and thus does not warranty the window itself directly. The window warranty is offered through the manufacturer. *****'s window warranty does not cover glass breakage. This is considered one of a few things depending on the circumstances; an act of god, negligence, abuse or neglect, vandalism, etc.
A Power representative has been in contact with you with regard to the damaged window and has offered to assist in the way that Power can. If you wish to proceed with the repair of the window, please reach back out to Power's Warranty Service department at the phone number below.

The replacement window sash order for your home was placed with our manufacturer and we are still waiting for them to be completed and delivered. Unfortunately, because of raw material shortages, labor shortages and logistical constraints that both our manufacturer and their suppliers are experiencing, lead times on manufactured parts have extended beyond what we are typically accustom to. Furthermore, these lead times are rarely consistent and can make predicting completion dates for a particular order very difficult. It is for these reasons that the order for the replacement sash is taking so long to arrive at our local installation office in Connecticut. While we continue to work diligently with all of our manufacturing partners to reduce lead times on manufactured goods as much as possible, we must in the meantime follow the current best guidance that Power is provided on expected lead times.
At the present time your order is scheduled to be delivered to our local office in Connecticut early next year. As soon as your order is delivered, a Power representative will be in touch with you to schedule the replacement. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and we appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issue with the windows in your home.

Contract with PowerHRG was agreed to in March of 2021 and installation was performed in July of 2021. Prior to installing one of the basement slider windows, we noticed that one of the window panes was cracked. The onsite supervisor called in the issue and notified me that the issue would be remediated within two weeks without any further action needed on my side. After 1 month of not hearing back I called in to PowerHRG to find out a timeline and was provided a date a few months off. Every time a scheduled date comes up, they continue to push it back. The latest date was July of 2022 at which time I received a call stating that they had lost the required window pane in the warehouse and would need to reschedule again. The new installation date I am now quoted is January of 2023.Business Response

In late Dec of 2020 I contacted Power Home Remodeling Group about a manufacturers defect on my front picture window. It had broken at the seem and spider web cracked along the whole right side. I was eventually given an install date of 6/8/21, siting that the sashes have not arrived from the manufacturer. It was rescheduled several times siting that the sashes were not in. I fully understand there was a materials shortage and supply chain issues, and eventually I was told it would be 12-14 months. I called back in Feb 2022 and was told they were still not in. After a few more calls monthly, they finally gave me an install date of some time in Jul 2022. That date came and went, and I called in asking where the install crew was, and I was told that they called and left a message. I informed them I did not receive such a call, then they went over my phone numbers. They did have some old ones, so i gave them the current one and we set another date for August 2022 (yesterday). Same deal, I had not heard anything by noon, so I called in again and was told they had called and left a message that the date had to be rescheduled to September. This time it was because the Sash had arrived, but it was damaged in the warehouse. I asked to speak to a manager, but was told they could not get me to a manager from their location and she was going to look into all of this and call be back by close of business. Big shock, no call. At this point, I am a bit frustrated and worried that since my sash has been damaged, I am either going to have to wait another several months or, they will come out and install an inferior window because new window, new issue. I am looking for my window to be repaired ASAP, as of right now there are large chunks of the inner window are missing and it is a hazard. I was told 12-14 months, but now we are coming upon 20 months.Business Response

In December of 2020 I filed a warranty request for a large window in my living room. Long story short, they blamed the pandemic and supply chain for a delay. After about 18 months of constant scheduling and rescheduling I called them (because they don't contact me ever), I filed a complaint with the BBB. They had a schedule date for the install, so the BBB closed out the case. Well the date got pushed several times even after that. On November 1st, 2022 I corresponded with someone in warranties, and sent them pictures and video of the window. I asked to have. A call or email chain with a manager to discuss options. It is almost 2 months later and I have not heard back, not once. I verified my phone numbers with them several times, because they like to say they don't have my updated information. At this point, it is deadly cold outside, and my double pane insulated window is now a single pane of glass, not able to keep the cold out. Our first floor is 10 degrees cooler then the rest of the house because of it, causing me to have to turn on auxiliary heaters, killing any ROI I had from the windows in the first place. I am looking to get this window replaced ASAP and reassurance from management that this is being worked on with the utmost urgency. Warranty claim number is ********. I want to reiterate, this is my second report on this company for the same issue. They responded to the old one, and I didn't respond in time to keep it open, but I will not make that mistake again.Business Response

At this time, Power is still waiting on it's manufacturing partner to complete and deliver the order for your replacement window sash to Power's local installation office. I am rejecting this response because: this is just another empty promise. Everything is done in the dark and behind the scenes with no visibility to me. At this point, I would like to be looped into email communications with the manufacturer and Power. I called Power home remodeling Thursday 12/29. Spoke to Tyler at 2:19. I insisted to speak to the warranty manager or the highest ranking person available to discuss this. She said she put me on the administration call back list. I have yet to receive that call. She told me she spoke to ****** in at ********* ******** company, the manufacturer. Called and spoke to ****** myself. She said it is ready to go. She is waiting on logistics to get a hold of power. It is all lip service at this point, and unless and until I get looped into communications and this repair actually happens, I will continue to reject

I am rejecting this response because: as I have previously stated, I do not accept the fact that there is zero communication to me as the customer. What I am asking for is a communication with the manufacturer, power home remodeling, and myself with a weekly update so I know that this is actually being worked on. Over 2 years is unacceptable, and there is zero effort on Power home remodeling group to communicate with me ever. No matter how many times I call I do not get a call back, or anything even though I am promised one. I can understand if the manufacturer doesn't have it yet, but I have spoken to them personally and they said that it was ready to go. So at this point somebody is lying, and the only way I will be satisfied at this point is to have a three-way communication between the manufacturer the service provider and myself so we can figure out what is going on and when this is going to be resolved.

We had windows installed, and they came with a lifetime warranty. I have been trying to get windows replaced with broken seals since April, 2021. I have been told repeatedly that they will honor the warranty, however I now have 25% of my window panes with broken seals. I have been more than patient and I am not getting any windows installed. I have asked twice to speak with a manager. First on June 17, 2022 and again on August 5th, 2022. Both times I was assured that someone would call back within 48 hours, however no one has contacted me. The last time I spoke with someone in customer service, they said it would be at least another 5 months to get 1 pane replaced and the rest are another year out! Also, this past time when I spoke with customer service (August 5th), the rep stated that there was a problem with the old windows, and they won't hold a seal. As 25% of my 3 year old windows already have faulty seals, I can believe this. It appears that the warranty is not being honored. I want my windows replaced in a timely manner. I want to speak with a manager and have a date when ALL of my panes will be replaced.Business Response

As explained, Power's warranty coverage is covering the material cost of replacement window sashes and the labor cost involved with returning to the home to replace them. As of right now, the guidance provided is the best guidance Power has received from it's window manufacturer. Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me, because I received a phone call this morning from Power Remodeling scheduling the replacement of all of my defective windows. The date is several months in the future, but I have a definite date for the installation. If all of the windows are not replaced on that date, I will be filing another complaint. It is a shame that it took filing a complaint to receive the call and scheduled delivery date that I have been asking for all summer.

In August of 2021 two separate weather proof sliding doors were installed on the two sides of my deck in one day. in December of 2021, I started seeing condensation on 4 panels of both sliding doors, I contacted power informing them of the problem, and they indicated they would have to order the parts, but due to COVIC there probably going to be on back order. Finally, after over a year later they gave a date for installation two weeks ago. I followed up with a phone call then, and they told me I wasn't on the schedule. I scheduled again to come and repair the panels for today Thursday, August 11th, 2022 at 10:30am. I called earlier today at 9am and they confirmed the technician would be there between 10:30am and 11:30am. At 10:32am the technician called me saying there was an emergency call that he had to attend to, and I would have to reschedule for later on today or reschedule for another day. I called the 1-888 # to reschedule for another day and requested to be the first appointment of the day and they refused to comply. AFTER OVER A YEAR OF WAITING FOR THE PANELS OF THESE TWO NEW DOORS, FULLY PAID, TO BE REPLACED AND THEY CANNOT ACCOMMODATE ME WITH A PREFERRED DATE AND TIME! Instead of getting to bottom of problem why my sliding in same area ans same wall keep coming down. You member screwed in sliding panels so they dont fall og again. Look like bad and ugly.Regards,

Good morning,
There is a follow-up service on 12/28/2022 to replace a half screen in your living room window that is currently missing. On this same service appointment Power is replacing the panels that were re-secured on 9/8/2022 and installing new finish trim to ensure they do not come loose again.
Thank you,
