Earlier this year we had new windows installed by Power. We were told that during that job, the contractors found a lot of "issues" with our existing wood and siding. We had 2 reps come out and conduct the inspection and they began the hard sell process at that time, one man and one woman. The woman was local and I believe her name isLeanna and the man is from Chicago and I think his name is Brian? This man proceeded to basically say that the vast majority of our siding was "rotting away and likely only being held together by the original siding." He added that "a ton of wood will need to be replaced during the siding project." The siding project is done and NO WOOD was replaced. At all. Clearly, this man did everything in his power to scare new homeowners into committing to a project that frankly, wasn't critical at this time. We were led to believe that much of our home was essentially falling apart and we were one storm away from losing everything. He completely catastrophized the entire situation and scared us into paying over $60,000 for new siding. We were on the fence about moving forward, and we let the sales reps know that. They then told us they could save us approximately $60k by "using the property as a training tool" yet no photos were taken. So, again another lie. We were told that all contractors would speak English and be in Power clothing and that the job site would be cleaned and returned to pre-work status. None of that was true. Our lead contractor wore a Power shirt and no one else on site. Our yard is covered in nails and other debris. Our internet cable was cut during the installation and we didn't even receive an apology. An electrical outlet was fried. Our back door leaks now, it didn't previously. One of the helpers cut a hose somehow and that hasn't been addressed either- I was questioned as to how it happened. And the work started a day late and we told on the day work was meant to begin that it wouldn't start until the following day.Business Response

A Power representative has been in touch with you in regard to the outstanding concerns with the siding and trim project. An installation team returned to the home on 8/10/2022 to address the concerns with the clean up of the property and the leak above the entry door. Power is waiting on the cable and electric companies to diagnose and resolve those matters and will be in contact with you in regard to compensation for each of them. Power will also replace the hose that was damaged during the installation.
Please reach out to Power's local installation office in Denver after the cable and electric companies have performed the work necessary so that a Power representative may guide you through the next steps in reaching a resolution for everything.

I am rejecting this response because: this does not respond to the entire complaint. The representative that came out 8/26/22 was fantastic; he did a great job of explaining any potential issues and as far as we know made sure that our back door will not leak again. That said, my complaint really goes back to the sales process. We were sold lies.
It's horrifying that a company is going around scaring people into incredibly expensive home repair projects that are simply not necessary. We were told that we needed to replace our siding, etc immediately or risk having our home rot away underneath the existing steel siding. Yet, when that steel siding was removed, the wood was in fine condition. The sales rep terrified us into spending money that we weren't prepared to spend. When we hesitated to move forward, the sales rep carried his lie further by saying that our home would be used for training materials, model photos and so on. Not a single photo was taken by anyone from the company. Clearly, this is just a sales tactic. And it's disgusting.

We had our siding and sliding glass door done by power home remodeling the door was installed December 27th 2021 and the siding was installed in March of 2022. The door has needed a new glass since the day it was delivered and also needs new rollers. I was told both of these were ordered but they have still not been fixed. The siding was done wrong and was coming off. They eventually came and fixed it but came without my knowledge. I was not home. They left the old siding on top of my egress fire escape (where it still sits). They took out a light and failed to replace it. They also did not put my address back up or change out lights on the garage, which I was told would be done. I have tried contacting them multiple times. I was given dates when they would be out to fix the issues but they never came. When trying to contact them again, I asked for a supervisor and they failed to contact me again. I have had nothing but issues with this company and they charge double what other companies do. I also purchased windows through them and have not been able to get them fixed by the warranty. I regret issuing this company. I am very disappointed in their services and would like them to fix everything and get the siding out of my yard. Getting some of the outrageous price credited would also be appreciated.Business Response

Stay away from these door to door scam artist. 2019, The workers did a great job installing the windows. The took care of the house as they went along. Explained everything after. The windows look great and work great. Am very satisfied. Would recommend them to my friends. Good job power! ( I said while the salesman looked over my shoulder at what I was typing) Update, 06/21/22 One of the windows go bad, the film is coming off on the inside pane of the window, all distorted trouble seeing thru it. no problem life time warranty right? So i call and report it on 5/2/22, still waiting, called again today and they said its still on the list, its on back-order, waiting for the manufacturer to make it.... It will be 12 to 14 months!! Ummm one of the key features the salesman said when he came to my house to sell me on them was they were one of only a couple window sellers that have there own machine and facilities and they make there own windows. now all of a sudden they are waiting for someone else to make it? Sounds like they lied. Wonder what else do they lie about? PS; my neighbors had there windows replaced by ****** ***** at the same time. 2 weeks ago he showed me one of his windows distorted, They just replaced it today. Manufactured and replaced in 2 weeks. ****** ***** actually makes their own windows and warranty is awesome. 8-9-22 still waiting. Don't buy from these scammers. Go to ****** *****. How could ****** ***** get replacement windows so fast and you cant. What if the window was busted out? 14 months with no window? are you kidding me?Business Response

Good morning,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your remodeling experience. We take feedback from homeowners like you very seriously. I apologize for any frustration or aggravation this issue may have caused. I have reviewed your complaint and personally looked into the matter.
The replacement window sash order for your home was placed with our manufacturer and we are still waiting for them to be completed and delivered. Unfortunately, because of raw material shortages, labor shortages and logistical constraints that both our manufacturer and their suppliers are experiencing, lead times on manufactured parts have extended beyond what we are typically accustom to. Furthermore, these lead times are rarely consistent and can make predicting completion dates for a particular order very difficult. It is for these reasons that the order for the replacement sash is taking so long to arrive at our local installation office in Houston. While we continue to work diligently with all of our manufacturing partners to reduce lead times on manufactured goods as much as possible, we must in the meantime follow the current best guidance that Power is provided on expected lead times.
At the present time your order is scheduled to be delivered to our local office in Houston later this year. As soon as your order is delivered, a Power representative will be in touch with you to schedule the replacement. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and we appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issue with the windows in your home.

I am rejecting this response because:WOW, so your salesman (Taylor H**********) that came to the house on 9-11-17 said the windows ****** were made in house and PHRG had its own machine that the windows were made on and pushed that thought because he said no other window manufacture had their own and they all had to order them out. He had me and my wife convinced of that during his 3 hour sales pitch. We bought them thinking we were getting them right from the manufacture.

Good morning,
Power has never manufactured it's own windows. In the beginning of every window sales presentation Power discloses it's partnerships with vendors and manufacturers, including window manufacturers, as well as the charitable foundations Power aligns with. Further, the window labels and window sticks and warranty information all indicate who the window manufacturer is.
The window provided to Power in 2017 is a proprietary window, only provided to Power and only from one window manufacturer, and not available to or from anywhere else, which may be where the confusion lies.

We had Power Home Remodeling come to install two basement windows. The initial person who came measured the windows and sent back the information. They then scheduled another person to check the measurements of the windows for pre-install which was rescheduled by them. The pre-install person came back I believe a week or two after and did his measurements. When the install date came around, I did not receive any call or follow on the install time. I took off work for this and called them the day of to see what time they would show up and the branch manager said they were not coming. I was furious since I wasted a day waiting for them and it was scheduled. We then rescheduled for I believe 3-4 weeks later and when they came to install the windows, one of the basement windows did not fit and the installer said it was measured wrong. I had to wait another three weeks for the correct window to be made and installed while they covered up my window with plywood. Now, on the second installation day they put all the windows in and that week it rained. We had a tremendous amount of water come into our basement through the windows and run down inside the walls. I sent pictures and video to the branch manger showing they improperly installed the windows and did not cork the windows properly. The branch manager would not send a different crew to fix the job and also at first said he couldn't get them back to fix the issue until much later. I explained to him this is unacceptable for a business of that size and he actually had the nerve to tell me "well then why did you go with us" on our phone conversation. I also asked him how I will be compensated for the damages which he said he will look into it. The installers came back the next day or the day after and I had to supervise them to make sure everything was installed properly. Power never followed up on the issue of compensation and payment and sent me a notice 133 days later saying where is payment.Business Response

We hired PWR to do a new roof. During the initial consultation, we asked Dan if there would be any damage to our new driveway, as that would be a deal breaker. Dan said there would not be any, but he would put it in the notes as a major concern. Than Mike the Project Manager came out - Again we voiced that we were very concerned about our new driveway being damaged. Mike said the dumpster contractor would put down wood before dropping the dumpster and there would be no damage to our driveway. When the dumpster was delivered, they did not put down wood and had scratched up the driveway - When I got home from work and saw this, I immediately reached out to Marc, and emailed him pictures. Several days later, the dumpster company came back and put the dumpster on wood, but in the process created more damage by creating divot like indentations and deeper scratch marks. Again I reached out, and was initially told by (I think her name was Justine) that it wasn't PWR problem. After call them repeated times, I finally connected with Jeremy, who said they would address it with the dumpster company. I resent all the pictures I had taken (before the dumpster was on wood, and after the dumpster was permanently removed). Since this conversation I have reached out to Jeremy every week - he doesn't call back, and when I do connect with him I get put on hold while he tries to reach the dumpster company OR told to call him back in several hours, or send more pictures, ect. Last week, he and the dumpster company said they don't see any damage that requires repair. After stating that the pictures don't show the damage well, and the many rains storms we've had since have not washed away what they consider dirt scratches that will wash away. Even though I did not sign off on the completed job (only that the roof itself was done) they received payment from the finance company.Business Response

Power has been in contact with the dumpster provider who dropped off and picked up the dumpster at your home. The damage to the driveway is superficial, an actual paving repair is not necessary given the extent of the concern. Power will not be able to cover the $1,200 estimate to make repairs to a driveway that does not require physical repair. The discolored surface will weather over time and once again match the rest of the driveway.

I am rejecting this response because: It saddens us that you will not take responsibility. We discussed the fact that our driveway was fairly new with both the sales man and the project manager before work was done. Both had said every precaution would be taken to prevent damage. Mike the project manager even made a note on the project sheet about being careful with the driveway. If this was your driveway, you would be treating this very differently - you know that these divots are likely to become a bigger problem due to cold and ice conditions. The fact that you don't want to deal with this because its your own contractor who messed up only shows poor business practices on your part. Hopefully other POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS will BEWARE of your UNWILLINGNESS to uphold to the supposed standards PHR says they have.

Power Home installed my new doors and the job was done great. I went with them again for new soffits and gutters. The project manager assured me that the workers would take out old electric, that was no longer connected, out. They started to cover it up with the soffits. I had to take them all down myself. There was rotted wood under the soffits that the workers would not replace. They just covered it up. When the gutters were put on, there were gaps between the flashing and the gutters. They came and the person on the phone said that they would check the rest of the house. After they left, a few days later it rained, water was coming between the flashing and the gutters. I called the project manager again, and he never called back. I also emailed him and text messaged him with the pictures, No response. I called a different manager and again, no response. I called the main office and they said that someone would come in December. I told them when I had the first issue with the gutters, they came right away. He didn't seem to care. I am also still waiting for a replacement door for 2 months. The original one came dented.Business Response

We set up a time for a Power to come and speak with us. The reason we chose Power for our roof replacement was their customer “Bill of Rights”. They also stated Power only used high-quality products; all installers are employees of Power (they would be wearing Power shirts/uniform); and conducted top of the line business practices. However, the service we received did not align. On the day of installation, a crew arrived (that could barely speak English) and started our roof installation. Once they were completed, they knocked on the door to sign the certificate of completion. When I arrived home, I was so disappointed in the way my roof looked and at the poor clean up job by the crew. The things wrong with my roof installations - Shingles was not laying flat and squared off at the end; rising up in the opposite direction as the others; Left side edges was not flowing as the other shingles; There was a huge gap left between where the siding and the roof met in the front of home--didn’t have a gap before they removed the old roof; Missing J channels. The site manager arrived for the final walk-through, and I immediately told him about the issues. He said he could see the issues, but we needed to give the roof a few days to settle. I told him I didn’t agree and so he scheduled for someone to come out the next day to address the issues. No one showed. I placed a call to Power and sent them pictures showing the poor job that was done. He also agreed the work was not up to par and said they will have someone come out to correct the issue. No one ever showed to fix the issues, instead they decided to have someone just show up to my house to do another site inspection. He also saw the issues and was scheduling someone to come out. They finally showed after so many no shows and still missing parts to complete the job. I am requesting $2500 be deducted from the final total of $15,901.75 for poor service and missed work. it is August, that is over two months.Business Response

When they arrived I asked to make sure the measurements was accurate, the answer was “yes”,but wasn’t.I have pictures to prove.I did call the company no answer as now. The job was started and finished on July 22 2022. My windows are now a lot smalle than was before, andthis wasn’t the dial. Good morning,

It is customary for a custom replacement frame window to be manufactured smaller than the opening so that the window can be installed level and square. More often than not, the opening a window or door is being installed into is not perfectly square and any settling that may have occurred can exacerbate the issue. However, given that your concerns potentially indicate a larger variance than Power would measure for, a Project Production Manager is scheduled to meet with you at the home on 8/12/2022 to review the window installation. A determination as to how move forward will be made at the time following a review of each window.
Thank you,
