**************** is terrible. You can't get out of their recorded phone loop. It just asks the same questions over and over. I actually had a guy on the line that was supposedly helping me but when their "survey" call came in it cut me off. I think I'll move my whole account elsewhere.

They say they cannot find our account but all the details are printed the same here on the Account statement that they send us!! There is a real problem with their phone system and not being able to reach someone to work with you.

By far the worst 401(k) administrator I was forced to use (not by choice) by an employer. They are charging an arm-and-leg for a simple rollover: "$75 processing fee"If you want the check to be "mailed overnight", it is $30 more. The "overnight" expedite the process is meaningless because their processing time is two-weeks to begin with. Can't do a direct rollover or wire into an account. They must "mail you a check" like it the days before the internet existed. They say it takes two weeks (estimated) to get the check, in the meanwhile they are holding your money and getting interest on it. The fact that you have to do another transfer/deposit of your paper check into the target rollover account means they gain a few more days of interest.Clearly as a fiduciary their interests lie in their own profits They are in a conflict of interest with the depositors they serve. The more they gain, the more you lose.A terrible company. Stay away.

I became a Future Plans by Ascensus customer when they took over Swerdlin and therefore my employer sponsored 401(k). I left that employer and Future Plans (who has now outsourced admin to someone called "Empower Retirement') made is painfully difficult to rollover my 401k to a different provider. The website doesn't even make an allusion as to how to effect this transaction and getting someone by phone requires a miracle. I finally connected to someone named Carrie Martinez that was able to help me but she seems like a rare instance as I called probably 10 times over 5 months. Part of their business plan is clearly to preserve AUM by making withdrawal administratively difficult. Someone with some regulatory authority needs to do something about them. It felt a lot like I was dealing with thinly-veiled crooks hiding behind poorly-staffed call centers and customer gas lighting as a business model.

The absolute worst. Good luck cashing out your 401k ..Everyone in this company acts like they’ve never spoke to you before because they don’t even take action when you want to cash out. Most incredible experience I’ve ever had. Complete INCOMPETENCE.

I just not beleave the big company like ascensus does not have a better mailing documents. I do have business with them and i would like to send an important doc to me, but the company has only regular mail, does not has express mail or *** or ***** available, also the document processing is very slow. If you have rate 0, the company should get this rate

Huge big dungheap of a company, none of the customer service reps know what they are doing or what the company policies are. Been trying to get my wife's retirement rolled over from her last job to another institution for nearly two months now. First we notified them of our address change, then they said the account will be locked for two weeks for safety. Two weeks later, turned out they had misspelled our address, so they corrected it and started another lockdown where the funds couldn't be moved for two weeks. Finally, we submitted a request, paid a $75 check fee plus $30 to expedite shipping with **** Guess what? They just went ahead and sent the check to the old address in **** when we are in *******. Called them again, they said they'd reissue a check and mail it out "right away." Now, another few weeks later, my wife's former employer called and said that Ascensus called asking about an address. Unbelievable. She hasn't worked there in over six months already. If the company policy was that the address update has to come from the employer, they could have said that two months ago and we would have made that happen, but they asked her to provide the new address and said they would update the account. Their systems are a mess, their people don't know what they are doing, and they just lie to you. In comparison, it took me 30 minutes to roll over my wife's TIAA account funds into her new Fidelity account and the money has been earning dividends already for two months. Plus they charged us ZERO to issue a check. Quick and easy. Avoid this company. If you are looking for a retirement account service for your employees, please don't punish them by going with these b*******

Ascensus says: "Thank you for bringing the above item to our attention. We are in the process of resolving the item directly with the client."Their resolution was to keep the $30 expedite fee and eventually send us a check via **** First Class Mail. I call that a ripoff. At the very least, they should refund the expedite fee because the point of the fee was to, you know, expedite.

My financial advisor set my account up with this company so I wasn't sure what to think at first but I am no longer with that financial advisor and now trying to close things out with Ascensus. This company is absolutely TERRIBLE. The customer service is sickening. They owe me a refund for over 4 months now and each time I call I get a different representative that knows absolutely nothing, gives me different information than the prior rep even when asked the same questions, and ultimately get an attitude with me when I voice my frustrations about their lack of structure. I am honestly questioning if this is even a legitimate company at this point and if I will ever even see my money that they owe me.

As a beneficiary of a deceased relative's *** I needed to call their retirement division (my name was grossly misspelled and needed to be changed -- this was supposed to a simple first step!). I called the listed number, and after refusing their offers for more "investments" the employee who answered told me I had called their college division and gave me a different number to call. Ok. I checked their contact us page again and sure enough their college division and *** beneficiary pages have the same number listed. I then dialed the number the employee gave me (listed as the miscellaneous question number on their contact us page) and was given five, I counted, five more investment opportunities to wait through. At the end their automated directory asked me what *company* I was looking for. What? I said "Ascensus" and it said it didn't know what I said. Rather than let me try again it gave me yet another phone number to call and hung up. Maddening.
