On 8/31/2022, I received a text message from this company trying to collect a debt for someone named *****. I have no idea who that is, and this has been MY phone number for years. They have the wrong number but I cant request to be on a do not contact list through a text message. Pretty irritated about this.Business Response

I have been receiving back-to-back phone calls from different numbers from Tate&Kirlin Associates, trying to collect DEBT from their client ***** *********** Card out of ********. I spoke to Arbar today at 4:01 pm, and he was wanting me to verify my identity. I informed him that I will not do it over the phone until I see what this phone call is regarding. That is when he advised me of a fraudulent **** debit card ending in ********, and he need to collect funds on paying the debt back. I have informed this guy as well as the last few representatives that I am not aware of any **** card. I have not applied for a **** card, and since this is a fraudulent dispute could he send me over documents so I can report to all agencies? ***** stated that all he can give me was a verbal dispute over the phone and that he will contact their client regarding the dispute. Lastly, he gave me a reference number of #********. This company calls me every day one call right after another. Once when I get off the phone with one representative, another one from the same company calls me right back constantly asking for me to verify my personal information over the phone after I had refused with the last representative. I need these calls to stop and stop now. I need to know how I could file a lawsuit against this company for the harassment that they have caused me.Business Response

Tate and Kirlin Associates Inc has been calling me for over a month now every morning. When I do answer, I get no response, just silence then they hang up. Tried blocking the number, didn't work cause they spoof numbers to call you. If they are calling about a recent debt on my credit report, well that has been disputed and resolved as fraud. Now they are just harassing me. And when you try to call this "business" it says "a serious error has occurred goodbye". That's so unprofessional. I want the calls to stop now!Business Response

On August 14, 2022, I received a text message from ************ with the following message:Hi ****. This is a notice from Tate & Kirlin Associates, a debt collector. Please visit ******.*** and use Ref# ********. Reply STOP to stop SMS.I did not visit the website in the text message because, as others who have also filed similar complaints with the BBB against this company have stated, the website is possibly a malware/spam/phishing site.I do not know who this company is or why they're contacting me. I have not received anything in the mail from them. Unlike other complaints filed with the BBB against this company, I have never purchased anything online ~ CBD oil or vitamin products (or any other products) and then forgotten to cancel the service/products./subscriptions. If something has been added to my credit bureau reports by this company I will file a complaint with, at a minimum, the **** and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.This text I received today is harassment and I officially file via this complaint a cease and desist against **** and Kirlin Associates from contacting me, or anyone I know via telephone, text message, email, or any other form of communication other than in writing. Thank you for providing a copy of the original complaint and Tate & Kirlin's response to my complaint.
I would like to reopen this complaint as I have received additional communications from this company after they stated in their reply via the BBB on September 29, 2022: "We have received the request to cease contact. Customer will not receive anymore contact from us."
Below is a screenshot of the text I received from Tate & Kirlin yesterday, Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 2:39 p.m. This communication is in direct violation of the cease and desist I requested with my original complaint and that they agreed to.

Sent a collection bill without a 9 digit account number. I called for the number and the guy was extremely rude and hung up on me. This company, Tate and Kirlin Associates, sent me a document attempting to collect money for a parking charge that I have nothing to do with. I do not own the car or license plate in question. Months ago, I sent a certified letter to their client ************ ******* ********** ****. and have proof of delivery yet both parties continue to harass me for something I did not do.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution only partially satisfactory to me because Tate and Kirlin has not acknowledged that they were in error. I have sent them a certified letter with proof from the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles that I am not the owner of the vehicle parked illegally in their client's parking lot. If Tate and Kirlin reports me to a credit agency I reserve the right to reinstate this complaint.

I have received text messages from this company advising me to contact them regarding a debt. I have not called them, but I suspect this is a scam based on the multiple complaints Ive read about this company. I would like for them to stop contacting me. I have been receiving phone calls at odd hour of everyday over the last few months from Tate and Kirlin Associates I have no idea why they are calling me, when I ask who they are they say they got what they need and hang up, they ask my birthday and hang up I would really like for them to stop harassing me.Business Response
