My VA loan was taken over by this terrible company in July 2024. I received an escrow analysis that says we owe money to escrow. My property tax exemption was given to them in OCTOBER and they are still keeping my payment the same, but added a $30 fee on it. They said that property tax and insurance are the same thing and they won't be adjusting my balance as tax exempt owners....how does that work???? My loan is VA-backed and I am curious to hear how they feel about doing an audit of my account to verify why my escrow account is negative. I spent FOUR HOURS on the phone only to be told by multiple people "oh homeowner's insurance went up" (even though it won't be assessed until May), then I was told "your taxes weren't paid", then back to homeowner's not being fully paid at the closing of the loan, until I pulled out the disclosure statements and showed that **************** paid it in FULL AT CLOSING PLUS provided a 3 month buffer in case. I got NO answers. NO supervisor was available during those four hours and multiple requests. Oddly, they did an escrow analysis January 7, January 20, and now she said they started another on January 21...why so many? I am reaching out here and intend to file a BBB complaint, to the **, to ********, and to the president of this company, Mr. *********** as well.

1 starAbsolutely HORRIBLE mortgage lender. Beyond unethical. 2 weeks prior to us closing on a house, NewRez accepted all of our paperwork and cleared us to move forward with our loan. 2 days before closing, they are hounding us for more paperwork. Literally the day of closing, they are saying that my fiances new job offer letter is fake even after they called to clarify everything with his new employer AND they forced the new employer to rewrite a brand new offer letter to make it match what the underwriter wanted it to say! After jumping through every hoop they presented, they denied us the day of closing which then affected 3 families deals!The underwriter, ***** ******, accused us of lying about my fiances new job. So unprofessional and immoral for the underwriters and NewRez to do this to our family. Also, we found reviews on other websites of other people saying that NewRez did the same exact thing to them with leading them on and hounding for more paperwork the day of closing to then deny them.Review fromCliff D

Newrez is the worst, truly incompetent! I've been with them since ************************************************************** September of 2024, I received a letter stating that my mortgage no longer needed PMI. It took them 3 months to remove it. When the escrow analysis was done for 2025, PMI was included in every monthly payment. I requested a new escrow analysis to be done. Each time that I called to follow up and find out what my monthly payment amount would be, I got the same response, "sorry your request was not submitted, we will submit that now and also submit a complaint". I don't think they know what they are doing, and customers are being overcharged.Newrez LLC

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. Incorrectly charged my escrow account (took out an insurance policy on my home even though I had existing one that was previously provided to them). They have been promising me my refund "will be processed within 15 business days" for over 10 months. I sold that home and was HORRIFIED to learn my new mortgage company sold it to NewRez and that I have to deal with them again. It is unacceptable that they can steal your money for 10 months and basically force you into hiring a lawyer/filing a small claim.Newrez LLC

From start to finish, Brian kept us informed, calm, and confident. He made the process so easy for us that we will recommend everyone call him when they need this service. In fact, we already have. My in-laws are now following our recommendation and are using Brian for their home purchase as well. Joe was awesome from start to finish. Great communicatoon, always followed up when je said he would and helped make a process with quite a few unexpected setbacks, seem pretty nearly flawless. He did tons of legeork for us with insiranve comapies, roofing companies amd electric companies. He knew my crazy work schedule and made time to speal with me later in the evenings and even some weekends. I will 100% use Joe as my go to mtg guy. The trust is established for sure. Cameron answered all concerns and questions I had. Cameron made sure that I was aware of all loan interest rate and point cost information each time we communicated. Cameron came through with the loan interest rate and points cost as agreed.
