      NewRez bought our mortgage from another company and unfortunately is responsible for our escrow account. They paid for someone else’s home insurance policy of $1,175 out of our account and then failed to make the annual payment on our actual house insurance. We received a letter from our insurance company stating they were going to cancel in 2 weeks. Worst of all New Rez changed our insurance on file without our approval, we could have lost our home and our insurance because of their lack of attention. They our actual insurance AGAIN out of our escrow without refunding us the amount that they paid in ERROR and stating that they had to try to reach the other policy holder to get the refund? It doesn’t make any sense as they should’ve paid for this error as this was not authorized and not my fault. I will be seeking legal advisory.

      Second time in less than a year to get letters claiming I'm in default and threatening foreclosure. When I call, they have miss-applied payments causing a cascade of fake late fees. A mortgage company that can't count or do math.

      They never pay my insurance premiums on time. Every year I have to call them to send the payment late. THE WORST MORTGAGE COMPANY IN EXISTENCE!!!!

      They changed our points amount by almost double due to an error on the social but it's strange for 2 people with the exact name to have 1 digit off. We we're not made aware that this number could change. They said we would lock it in by confirming on 10/07/22 but then received notice that they changed the amount on 10/26/22. At this point we were too late in the loan process to start over & if we backed out of the house we were trying to purchase, we lost our option money. I had to get 3 incorrect items adjusted but NewRez would not adjust my points fee.
      On 11/06/22 They expressed that they already paid for our appraisal & the extension of our loan pre-approval amount so they would not change our points amount. The appraisal was paid because NewRez said we would get it paid due to being an existing customer. The extension was paid for by them because they got rid of our loan person the day before our closing & she hadn't finished.
      There were fees on our reports that weren't ours in the 1st place and we had to keep asking for them to be taken off.
      The companies communication is poor & most of their phones have been forwarding straight to voicemail.

      My husband and I have been working with this company since the end of August 2022. We have been trying to refinance our home and access our equity. Everything went smoothly for weeks. We received an email that our loan was predicted to close around October 10th or BY the 17th of October. If not earlier.
      The 17th of October came and nothing. We called NewRez numerous times. We sent several emails. Nothing.
      We called our loan originator's - Christopher S**** supervisor - Matt M*****. Mr. M***** contacted me back ONE time. My husband and I have continued to leave several messages. We both called yesterday October 31st and left Mr. M***** messages. He has yet to contact either of us back.
      Apparently when we deferred payments during the Covid 19 pandemic it also meant we were penalized.
      My husband was in ICU during the pandemic. He had to use his short term disability through his employer. I was quarantined. It was a very difficult time for the both of us. It was a difficult time for the entire world. We were under the impression that the mortgage assistance program during Covid 19 was intended to help people.
      It does not appear that way.
      We wanted to refinance our home to payoff small bills and give us some relief. This refinance through NewRez has turned into a stressful and unprofessional process.

      After New Rez began servicing my loan, they switched their online portal, and I had tried for months to set up autopay, which it would not let me do until the current month's payment had processed. I had finally had confirmation the autopay was set up, but apparently it was the following month. As soon I saw it wasn't paid, and then paid immediately. Two days late after the headache their system caused and they wouldn't reverse a $63.15 late fee.
      I found the migration to new portals from old new rez to the new burdensome and setting up autopay seemed purposefully designed to not allow me to do so, without me remembering to return days later. I can't imagine they don't already know there was an issue, and is probably a way to collect fees. I will paid the late fee, but I will also be vocal the company is a heaping pile shit for the life of the mortgage.

      NewRez’s online payment portal is dysfunctional. In August, my husband and I were late on our mortgage payment so we tried to make a payment on the NewRez website through their online payment portal. In order not to make the same mistake again, we scheduled automatic recurring payments. A couple of weeks later in September, I thought it was odd that even though the NewRez website said a payment had been posted, nothing had been withdrawn from our bank account. We called NewRez and once again tried to pay the account online. Once again, nothing was posted on our bank account. At that point, we contacted the bank who said that nothing had been posted on our account from NewRez, ever. No attempt had been made to post a payment. So, once again we called them. They gave us the bank information and account number they had. They had the correct information, so there is no reason that the payment should not have been posted. We called them again, and cancelled the online payments and mailed a check since their online payment portal DOES NOT WORK!! By this time, our August and September payments were late again, and although we had made various attempts to pay the bills, we were charged two late fees and were reported to our credit agencies, thus damaging my credit score. We talked to them on the phone again to dispute the late fees. The customer service agent told us very dismissively that we must have given them the wrong bank information. When my husband told her that he had verified the information in another call, she told him again, very dismissively, that there was no way she could know what happened. Not only does their online portal payment not work, they do not acknowledge or accept responsibility for their errors, and their customer service representatives are dismissive and unhelpful.

      Worst Refinance company ever! Liars and crooks. I'll be sure to tell anyone who will.lusten about my experience with them!
