On June 16, 2020, I purchased a secondary warranty with Concord Auto Protect, for $1800.00. My representative was **** ******. My cars (2011 **** ***** and 2018 *******) are serviced as requested by the owner’s manual. I recently had to have the AC compressor in the **** ***** replaced which is covered by the warranty. I reached out to **** ****** in February 2023 on how to file a claim. Because I went online initially and tried filing but did not get a response. The actually problem was finding a mechanic shop that would honor the secondary warranty. There was not one in the Charleston area I could find that would take the warranty. When I finally went to the dealer, they said they would do the work, I pay, and for me to work directly with warranty company to get reimbursed. I went with my **** ***** Mechanic, *** **** ******* ******, Inc., my auto repair shop that services my **** *****. I explained to ****** the problem I was encountering and if he knew the policy on a customer paying upfront and being reimbursed. He recommended I call the 888 number). I called on February 28 and again on March 5. I spoke with **** ****** asked me to get the quote from my mechanic, send to him, and he will handle everything from there. So I did exactly that and still have not heard from ******. I called in April and requested to cancel my policy and be refunded 1800.00 of my money, it was explained to me that the repayment would be prorated and since the policy is so old, I won’t get much back. I was then sent to management the manager’s name is ******* ******* at extension ***. He was so kind, found the original quote I sent to ****** and told me not to worry about anything he will take care of it. I explained to *** ******* that my window regulator was also on the quote, his words to me were, “look since you’ve been given the run around, just get everything fixed and I’ll pay using the card once the work is completed” or words to that effect. He told me to make the appointment, call him when the work is completed and he’ll pay by phone. This conversation was around the beginning of April. He asked that I make the appointment later in the week because he wanted to ensure my claim was processed. I finally made my appointment for April 17. I called *** ******* numerous times since our initial conversation to let him know the date of my appointment. I was not able to reach him. I left messages, spoke with customer care representatives, still to no avail. After calling so many times, I could no longer enter his extension as I explained to the last customer care representative. She assured me that she will send my request, recordings, quote everything to someone on the food chain higher than *** *******. That was on April 13. I have not heard from anyone. Once my car was repaired, I immediately came home and filed a claim for reimbursement. On May 1, I called Concord to reference the new claim. When I gave the claim number, I was told to look for an email (attached) regarding payment. The total bill amount was $2321.65 Without the window regulator or reseal of vacuum pump, the total billed for the AC Compressor was $1221.64 ($749.14 for part/labor $270.00/Recharge system and *****/$202.50). When I received the email I was shocked by what the adjuster offered. In the end I was only reimbursed $404.89. This company does not stand by what they offer. All I’m asking for is the difference between what was reimbursed to me ($404.89) and the total amount of service ($1221.64) which is $816.75. I called on May 25 to cancel policy and hopefully recoup a small portion of what I invested to keep my car in tip top shape. Concord Auto Protect is a Scam and should not be allowed to operate taking customers’ money and not providing what it’s in the contract. I was told that each conversation I had with someone was recorded, so hopefully those recordings for Client #****** have not been lost.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience you experienced but, in many cases, we use brand new, aftermarket parts that carry a warranty and we are still covering. It is very common with every extended service program company like ours. We would be happy to refund you the difference if you'd like or try to help more towards the repair that was already paid. Please advise. Thank You

We are sorry that the customer is upset at the situation, but his repair is not covered by our agreement. We require service records to process certain claims which he was not able to provide. In addition, the complaint is of an AC leak which takes time to get to the point of replacement of the condenser. He signed up in the dead winter when AC is not needed. We are happy to help with a courtesy towards the repair or a refund for him. Sorry and thank you.

At the beginning of January 2023 I bought 2 auto protection plans simultaneously. One was for a 2013 ***** ********** and one was for a 2016 ********* ******. At the end of February I felt the ********* ****** was not shifting correctly so I brought the car in to the service department of ********************* dealership. The service department then informed me there is transmission issues. Following that we emailed the service department our protection plan from Concord Auto Protect. Concord auto protection requested a specific list of documents to move forward with the repair. We along with the service advisor at the chevrolet dealership provided each and every requested document. We have called every other day, Concord Auto protect refuses to return my phone calls, repeatedly disconnect my phone calls or tell me they will have a manager call back that never does. It appears they are trying to get out of taking responsibility for their Auto Protection Plan. They are not upholding their responsibilities of what they sold me and I payed for both protection plans in full.

I purchased an extended warranty from this company. My vehicle was then totaled and according to their representatives, I was entitled to a refund of approximately $1600. The refund was to be credited to my credit card and that has not happened. I have inquired on several occasions over the past several weeks and I get the same Statements that we’re going to refund your money. Sorry it’s taking too long and then I find numerous complaints on the Internet about how this company never refunds the money. I wanted to file a Better Business Bureau complaint before I start a lawsuit. This is a Pennsylvania company and I live in Pennsylvania and therefore small claims is an option .

I am rejecting this response because:

it is the same lie that they have told on three separate occasions. I just checked my credit card statement and there has been no deposit made no refund even attempted because I contacted the credit card company and there has been no action or attempt made to refund any funds. My next steps are filing a small claim against them in the District Court in Pennsylvania since I am a Pennsylvania resident and this is a King of Prussia Pennsylvania business. I intend to do this on the first business day after memorial day weekend

I bought a 2017 *** and purchased an extended warranty for Concord Auto Protect policy number *********. My car starting burning oil around 72,000 miles 1 to 2 quarts within 6,000miles, when I had oil change around 84,000 miles it was burning 3 to 4 quarts and I had ***** *** submit claim about burning oil and nothing was approved said it was within limits. Now will 90,000 miles it is burning a quart every thousand miles. ***** *** determined a cause of valve cover gasket, then once it is fixed they can determine of any other issues. Concord was notified and denied claim. I put in writing for them to show me exactly where in the contract this was not covered, they have refused. I called again today and no response. I paid for an engine protection warranty. There is nothing in the contract as to why this issue isn't covered and Concord wont put anything in writing only denying the claim verbally. I need help. ***

We are sorry that you are upset but the coverage we offer does not include coverage on seals and gaskets. They wear out naturally over time.  Please notice, if any company lists them as covered, you will find in their exclusions that they are not covered due to wear and tear which is what this is. We dont list them at all to avoid confusion. Also, we approved what is listed as covered in our agreement. Please see the following approval information...

Coverage details are as follows: 1 OEM *** Coolant Pump (***************) List: $158.45 ******* Labor 2.0hrs(x$170.00): $340.00 Total approved amount: $498.45

    Customer Answer

    Date: 05/18/2023

The repairs are being done now. The gasket may or may not  be the actual problem of excessive oil burning that has increased of the last 18k miles. Again I want my car not to use excessive oil and my coverage will end within a couple of thousand miles. The burning of oil won't be able to be determined during the period of coverage ***

Purchased a warranty from Concord Auto Protect only to find out they have absolutely no intention of handling claims in a timely and professional manner. I have had multiple employees hang up on me and treat me like I did something wrong. This is a shady group of individuals running this company. I cancelled policy 4/28/23 and was told check would arrive in 5-7 business days which has come and gone. Called to check status and 3 different employees hung up or transferred me. So I called back and guy says yea you are annoyed so the call was routed to me!! They are withholding refund money. This is just not right!

Concord Auto Protect contract purchased on 10/4/2019, policy # VSP ****** January 4, 2023. Claim Number ******* for transmission repair.I paid out $5,861.31 to *****, Phx. AZ. for repair. Concord failed to provide funds for repairs. Concord FAILED to provide known facts that their policy did NOT cover the 2012 **** ***** Transmission repairs from a Technical Service Bulletin issued in August of 2016 (I purchased my policy in 2019). Instead Concord Put in a short sentence in the EXCLUSIONS SECTION stating they would not cover anything under a TBS which NO individual would have known what that meant. Concord issued a policy knowing they would not cover my transmission even after a Federal Court case, that **** LOST, in regards to this transmission. Concord waited 9+ days in figuring out how not to pay for the repairs. Concord sales representative, at time of policy purchase, was advised of the only major repair on my vehicle was for the transmission, in 2018 which I had receipts from **** and I was advised no problem. I have made numerous attempts to reach the ****************** including phone calls and e-mails, in an attempt to APPEAL this...NO RESPONSE.Concord Auto Protect claiming to be the #1 leading supplier in this field, should have KNOWN, that my transmission would NOT be covered due to their extensive knowledge of vehicles and vehicle repairs. It is their business. In my view Concord is misleading customers to get a sale and not to cover their vehicle if they can find a way out of it.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Concord Auto Protect did not fully disclose an exclusion, of a repair, on a vehicle that was clearly the subject of a Federal Law Suit which the ****** Motor Company  lost back in 2015/16 pertaining to the **** transmission in the 2012, ***** *****, and still knowingly issued the policy to me in 2019. This is a company that states to be #1 in the industry which one would have to draw the conclusion that they are well versed on what they will and will not cover kept this point covered up from the consumer. In my case and possibly in other cases regarding this transmission, Concord still gladly took my money and issued a policy that they knew they would never cover/pay for from the get go. This appears to be defrauding the Consumer by not putting this problem of coverage up FRONT before issuing a policy. Instead they hid it under the Exclusionary Section and merely stated they would not cover anything with a TSB attached to it. The consumer would have NO IDEA what that meant after reading how they would cover transmission repairs unless you were part of the Auto Industry which I can safely say 98% are not. At the time of my purchase, October 4, 2019, the sales person asked me if there was anything wrong with my vehicle. I responded that I had the transmission fixed by **** in 2018. I asked if that would be a problem and was told that If I had the Invoice/paper work, from ****, showing this I'd be fine. I had no Idea, even at that point, that the contract I was about to inter into had a clause that would not pay for repairs on this **** transmission, instead I was misled into believing it was. Once again I was dismayed that a Company that are experts in the vehicle repair world policies and claims to be #1, would not have had knowledge of  ANY part of a vehicle that they WOULD not cover still take the consumers money and stay silent. It almost comes down to Concord Defrauding the consumer which may be a case for the AZ Att. General. I will conclude by saying I sent tried numerous times, via phone, to appeal my claim to a supervisor and each time got answering machine with a promise of a call back. I have sent numerous E-mail's in an attempt to file an Appeal and have received nothing in return. In Concords response, it appears that they could care less about this claim from the very beginning and have little or no concern for the consumer and are most likely defrauding their policy holders on a daily bases..

We have the exclusion section in writing for a reason. Every company in America has this exclusion in their plan. We present it to you at sign up and give you a 30 day money back guarantee. At this point, you've had other claims paid out and your policy is expired. There is nothing more we can do for you. Good luck.

In my belief, this company is NOT Reputable, Honest, or Transparent in dealing with the public/consumer. Recently (April 19, 2023) My vehicle got repairs done and my extended warranty company, Concord Auto Protect denied the claim (claim #*******) to pay for the repairs. They state none of the repairs are covered under my premium policy (policy #*** ******) with them. I called them and asked who I should reach out to about this and they said the claim was closed and there was nothing I could do. A rude sales rep said that there was nothing he could do for me, he refused give me the names of anyone who I could reach out to for an appeals and hung up on me.
