      Crappy customer service. Can't find paperwork I mailed to them several times. Can't talk to a manager because supposedly there isn't one. Can't close my account unless I quit my job. Can't touch my money because they don't know how to do their jobs & every time I talk to a person I get a different story. The worst company I've ever had to deal with. Shame on you vanguard, get your sh*t together.

      I have tried several times to have my Vanguard IRA transfered to Charles Schwab (initiated through Charles Schwab). Every time it was blocked by Vanguard. I went to Vanguard website to withdrawal MY money. Vanguard blocks me and instructs me to call a number that has customer sevice people that are unhelpful and know nothing. Customer nonservice says they will make report. Asked to speak to a manager. Customer nonservice will only put in a request that I want to speak to someone. Have been trying for months and Vanguard continues to block me from accessing my money and I cannot not speak to anyone about how to get my funds from Vanguard. In effect, my money has been stolen from me.

      worst investment company in the world . I had to hire a lawyer to help in getting my money from these crooks . Beware never put a nickel in this company they are nothing but useless people that transfer your calls to Philippines to get rid of you.

      We attempted to switch my husband's IRA from another brokerage company to Vanguard. First, we got a hard sell from the "customer service" rep who tried to rope us into Vanguard's paid investment services. But, what was worse, was when we got down to the actual business of switching the IRA, the rep kept asking "what is your Vanguard account number?" We kept replying that we didn'thave one and we were trying to set one up. He just kept asking for the account number, security questions, etc. Eventually he told us that my husband's identity couldn't be verified and there was nothing he could do for us. We don't know if there was an old account at Vanguard or some account we had not knowledge of, but the company was completely useless in helping us resolve our issue. In retrospect, we're relieved that we didn't transfer the $400,000 we were going to transfer over to Vanguard.

      They use preferred share tickers that are different from every other brokerage and company on the planet, and the website makes it impossible for customers to find preferred share tickers. And what's worse is that their customer service reps can't even find the preferred share tickers either. I had to chat with two different, completely incompetent reps, who had absolutely no clue. Finally I had to schedule a callback from a rep, "verify my identity," etc. to find the share ticker. All in all, it took about an hour just to get an answer to the most basic question. A question that shouldn't even be a question, if they followed industry standards for preferred share tickers.

      Think twice if you want to transfer your money to Vanguard. I have been a Vanguard customer for years. My mother passed away several months ago and left me and my sister some IRA money. I recommended Vanguard to my sister and she started the transfer process at the beginning of Jan. She received transfer of the traditional IRA portion on 1/17/2023. However, the Roth portion never showed up in her account at Vanguard. We called the other institution where my mom kept the IRA (TIAA) on 2/21/2023. The representative at TIAA told my sister that they sent out the check to Vanguard on 1/6/2023 and he also gave us the check number and the amount. We then called Vanguard customer service. The representative looked thru the records and told us that she did not find that check. She then conferenced with TIAA and we were told TIAA will do some research and get back to us. On 3/1/2023, we called TIAA and was told that check sent to Vanguard was cleared by Vanguard on 1/13/2023. We then called Vanguard and the representative found that check and the Roth IRA was deposited to my sister's account on 3/2/2023. As a result of someone's mistake, my sister lost hundreds of dollars in interest money. We then called Vanguard asking some sort of resolution today 3/21/2023. The person from retirement department answered our call was extremely rude. He basically admitted the check was cleared on 1/13/2023 and there is nothing they can do for my sister to compensate the hundreds of dollars she lost in interest money due to somebody's mistake in Vanguard. When I asked if there is a department that handles this kind of complaint. He said "NONE". If you are reading this, stay on top of your transfers and watch the transaction like a hawk because as per their rule as long as the check is cleared, they did their job. This is appalling!

      The customer service is extremely poor. I have been trying to change an account ownership from my dad, who passed away, to the estate in his name. I submitted all of the paperwork they needed and it has now been 8 weeks and it still has not been finalized. I have spent many hours on the phone with several different representatives. Each representative said they saw the problem - a different problem with each representative I spoke with. Each told me what I needed to do to rectify it and in each case, nothing happened.

      This is a simple task, one that occurs hundreds if not thousands of times each year. They have all of the paperwork they need and they still cannot perform this simple task. It is just incompetence.

      The only reason I am giving them one star is because it's not possible to give zero stars

      I had funds in a brokerage account. I requested the funds to be released 5 times and they refused to release the funds...and they refused to tell me why. As of the writing of this comment, I'm "waiting" for a "manager" to call me.

      They have my money and refuse to release it as a transfer to my current financial advisor. Every time I call in I get "Sir, it's simple, just send us the form". Every time I call they have me fill it our a different way and then the fund release gets rejected. When I call in and ask to speak to a manager, I'm advised they don't have that capability. They won't hang up after our conversation because they don't want me to take the survey that follows (which I end up staying on the phone for an additional 15 minutes waiting for them to hang up so I can review their service). I don't advise EVER working with vanguard if you ever want access to your funds.

      For a company like Vanguard, who hold billions of dollars of consumers hard earns money, vanguard customer service is THE ABSOLUTE WORST!
      Vanguard has been a staple in my family for decades! One of the first thing I knew I must do once I starting my career was to create a Vanguard account. I have been happy with the company till now.
      Today, the customer service that “serviced” me was extremely impatient, the first guy couldn’t pronounce “Maternal grandmother”, So, I was transfer to a young lady who seems to be in an empty room (Said she was not on speaker phone), but I beg to differ since the echoed back round was terrible to the point of unboreable, and without a word she transferred me to my final nightmare, Antoine. Representative Antoine who have created case #1099638 does NOT sound like an Antoine was extremely condescending and extremely sarcastic over the phone today. And when I asked to speak with a manager I was told he will create a ticket and CANNOT guarantee a manager will call me back. And when I asked why? I was told they don’t have the time! I was told they will be a survey after the phone rather the phone call hung up as I was still speaking.
      Is this customer service?
