      Awful customer service. Used to be very good but in last two years has hit rock bottom. Find another broker dealer!

      No security and financial responsibility on sending out checks to banks and customers for thousands and thousands of dollars. No mail tracking system, no financial follow up on where or the check is.

      My husband has had his retirement funds invested with Vanguard since 1996. Over the last two years he has had a horrible time trying to discuss anything with their representatives. The communivation.is deplorable. The representatives are not easy to understand, they repeat canned responses, and the tell him they have no management available to speak with.
      It has taken him over 2 weeks trying to get 2000 out of his fund for a tuition bill. He has faxed(yes faxed), which means he has to pay for the transaction each rime- over 40 dollars, and it still is not taken care of.
      Horrible way to treat customers that have been with the company for 30 years.
      We are pulling out funds and dealing with Wells Fargo starting next week. Enough is enough.

      Vanguard Flagship Service personnel are poorly trained and provide inaccurate and conflicting information from their transition, ownership change, and retirement teams. They make navigating routine beneficiary and executor transactions after a spouse dies a nightmare. Hours on the phone. A different person every time just to get basic information like yearend tax statements and account valuation at time of death. No one there seems to know or describes the entire process and what they require. Website gives incomplete info. I could go on but am exhausted from dealing with them over a two week period.

      I have been attempting to check on my Vanguard 401K, that I have through my employer. Unfortunately, I cannot access it, no matter what I try. I finally reached a Vanguard representative, via telephone, who was difficult to understand and there was much background noise on his end. The representative did not seem familiar with the processes and unable to understand what my complaint was. Finally, after much explanation and expression of my dissatisfaction, the representative reported that there is a problem with my account, in that there are two accounts or a "dual synergy" and that he needed to speak with IT. After being placed on hold for some time, the representative reported that the matter had to be escalated. I asked to speak with a supervisor, but the representative refused, stating someone would call back in a couple of days. I request a few more times to speak with a supervisor so that I could better understand what happened. I was still refused. Where is my 401K? Why can't I speak with a supervisor? I am very upset and made that clear to the representative. I warned the representative that I would be making complaints and will follow up with my employer.

      Very poor service. Said I did not have an account with them 6 times I called. Findly they found it after 3 weeks. Than I turned in papers to get my money out. 5 weeks later I called them and said they have not received any papers to get money. Called again and told again I do see not have an account again. Called again same day later. Said I would havey money in 24 hours. Still no money. Do not use this company.

      Awful customer service. I have spent months and numerous phone calls just trying to figure out why I cannot access the online account I set up. I sent in an I9 form as requested by one representative and they still want a copy of my drivers license or passport. None of this was required of my husband who set up an account at the same time as me. They cannot even tell me why they are requiring this documentation. I’ve never even been able to put any money in the account.

      I've had an IRA with Vanguard for years. It was fine until I actually needed to do something with MY money (transfer money to a Health Savings Account). I would have just opened an HSA with Vanguard, but they don't offer them and none of the many people I spoke with there had even heard of them??? I also learned that Vanguard doesn't have chat support and doesn't accept electronic documents - you have to print and FAX or snail mail paper documents to them. It's ridiculous in 2023 to expect people to fax anything! But I jumped through that hoop. And they emailed a few days later to say that I needed to call them (no details). So I called and waited an hour and a half (!) to talk to someone who transferred me to someone else who transferred me and after explaining 5 different ways what I wanted to do I was told to call my HSA company to figure it out. Luckily, she had worked at Vanguard for 6 years and knew a "back way" to get through without waiting another hour and a half. She got everything cleared up and Vanguard agreed to cut a check (no electronic transfer!!!) and mail it to my HSA company. Only one week later, my HSA contacted me to say they had received the check but that Vanguard made it out in the wrong amount. The exact dollar amount was on the form I faxed and confirmed verbally over the phone multiple times. And they still got it wrong. I can't deposit it to my HSA because it exceeds the amount allowed annually. Back to the phones. They put a stop on the check, but it's up to me to wait a few days and remember to call again to request a new check be sent IN THE CORRECT AMOUNT. It's a good thing this is not a life or death situation or I would be dead by now! My love for Vanguard is definitely dead and I will be moving my IRA out of there (if I can figure out how...) ASAP.

      Vanguard's customer service is unbelievably bad! We have been trying to transfer my husband's IRA to a National Bank for the past 30 days with no success. We have made numerous calls and each time get transferred around to reps that are basically clueless. Their customer service people are rude, untrained and speak over the customer plus the wait times are sometimes 45 minutes. I have filed a complaint with the SEC but not sure what action we will get. This used to be a great company to invest with so not sure what has caused all the problems but avoid doing business with this company!!

      Poor customer service. They refuse to allow customers the right to speak with a supervisor.
