The CARS Protection ********* (CARS) ************************ is in receipt of your BBB review and responds as follows:On May 23, 2025, you purchased a *************** Contract (VSC) with an effective date of June 22, 2025, and an effective mileage of *******.On May 28, 2025, a repair facility opened a mechanical claim on behalf of your 2016 *** 4 Series 435i Gran Coupe (Vehicle) stating the engine was cutting off at operating temperature. The repair facility requested a fuel pump and fuel pressure sensor. CARS claims adjuster explained that your VSC had a waiting period and that issues that occurred prior to the effective date and mileage of your VSC are not covered. On June 24, 2025, a repair facility opened a mechanical clam on behalf of your Vehicle for the same Vehicle issue reported on the May 28, 2025 mechanical claim. This mechanical claim was denied as well because the failures occurred prior to the effective date and mileage of your VSC. Also on June 24, 2025, you called CARS and during several phone calls, you expressed that you were upset that CARS would not cover the failures, stating you had waited to return the Vehicle to the repair facility for the repairs until after your VSC became effective. CARS representatives explained that you could not do that and that issues that occurred prior to the effective date and mileage of your VSC are not covered. CARS has reviewed the mechanical claims and determined they were correctly denied according to the Terms and Conditions of your VSC. Please see your VSC at Provision 3. (b.): 3. COMPONENTS AND EXPENSES NOT COVERED (Applies to all SCHEDULE OF COVERAGE levels): b. Pre-Existing Condition(s) and failures during the Validation Period are not covered under any circumstances.CARS strives to provide excellent customer service and apologizes that you feel you were treated poorly by a CARS employee. Thank you for bringing the incident to CARS' attention.Sincerely,The ************************ laReview fromRichard R

So far, my experience has not been good. We bought the plan thru the dealer in May and still have not received any documentation. I have sent several emails and left messages on their phone system. Nothing back as of 6-22-25. If you call and try to talk to someone you are just left on hold. I hope to hear back soon, or I will have to start the complaint process.C.A.R.S Protection Plus Inc

The CARS Protection Plus Inc. (“CARS”) Customer Care Department is in receipt of your BBB review and responds as follows:
CARS apologizes that you did not receive a copy of your Vehicle Service Contract (“VSC”). It is the responsibility of the car dealership that sold you the VSC to provide you with a complete copy of your VSC at the time of purchase. CARS is unable to provide you with a copy via response to a BBB Review; however, CARS has sent a copy of your VSC via email to your email address on file.
CARS apologizes for the inconvenience caused by experiencing long hold times when contacting CARS; hold times fluctuate depending on call volume. CARS responds to voicemails and emails in the order they are received, and on June 17, 2025, a CARS customer service representative called you and left a message.
CARS has reviewed your contract and can see that since the date you left the BBB Review, a repair facility contacted CARS and opened a mechanical claim on behalf of your Vehicle, and CARS has spoken to an individual who contacted CARS on your behalf several times.
If you need any additional assistance, please contact CARS’ customer service department via email at [email protected] or by calling 888.335.6838.
Thank you for being a CARS customer.
Sincerely,
The Customer Care Department

I had to replace my battery three times in two years and kept telling my dealership that it had to be an electrical problem. Eventually they discovered that the *** was faulty and replaced it thanks to C.A.R.S. I also needed three of the four tire sensors replaced and that was approved as well. I'm very happy with the responses from this company.C.A.R.S Protection Plus Inc

The motor failed on my vehicle and they denied the claim saying that it was from improper maintenance of the vehicle. I sent them maintenance records to show that the vehicle was maintained Regularly and they said they would review the claim and now nobody will call me back or answer the phone.C.A.R.S Protection Plus Inc

The CARS Protection ********* (CARS) ************************ is in receipt of the BBB review and responds as follows:During the processing of the customers April 4, 2025 mechanical claim, the repair facility advised the customers vehicle had been overheated and blew out the passenger side head gasket and melted the cam position sensor and timing chain guides. The repair facility advised there was no compression in cylinders 1, 3 & 5 and coolant in 1, 3 & 5. After review of the photographs provided by the repair facility and the repair facility's initial cause of failure, CARS was unable to offer any assistance with the repairs as the failures were a result of the vehicle being operated in an overheat condition.CARS has highlighted Provision 4(h) You are responsible for properly maintaining the Vehicle in accordance with manufacturers specifications and to protect against further damage caused by continued operation or damage from overheating. To protect against further damage caused by continued operation or overheating, DO NOT restart or drive Your Vehicle, have the Vehicle towed. Continued operation, or any damage caused by continued operation, will not be covered under this Service Contract. The customer subsequently provided ************** with an invoice for maintenance he had performed on the vehicle dated March 1, 2025, for which no claim was ever opened and did not include the name of the repair facility. Regardless of the maintenance performed, the damage to the vehicle (i.e. melting of the cam sensor and timing guides) was the direct result of operating the vehicle in an overheat condition. On June 3, 2025, the customer requested a refund of the *** and CARS advised he would be able to obtain a prorated refund, less a previous claim paid in the amount of $413.99 and less a cancellation fee of $50.00. CARS then provided the customer with the cancellation form via email. To date, the customer has not submitted the cancellation form for CARS to process the prorated refund. CARS stands behind its decision and is unable to offer any assistance on the April 2, 2025 claim. However, if the customer still wishes to cancel his *** coverage, the customer must file out the cancellation form provided on June 3, 2025 and return to CARS. Upon receipt of the fully executed cancellation form, CARS will process the prorated refund per the cancellation provisions of the customers ***. ************** hopes this information was helpful to your inquiry.Sincerely,The ************************ clgReview fromC. My recent claim was handled with no complaints on my part. While I didn't deal directly with ****, the CARS adjuster, I have the impression from my repair shop that they were pleased. Not surprising I wish a larger portion of the repair had been covered.C.A.R.S Protection Plus Inc

The CARS Protection ********* (CARS) ************************ is in receipt of your BBB review and responds as follows:Thank you for your review. CARS is always happy to hear about a customers positive claim processing experience. Note, claims are authorized pursuant to the terms and conditions of each customers individual vehicle service contract. For your mechanical claim, CARS claims adjuster was able to source the needed parts from a local parts supplier for less money than your chosen repair facility was charging for the parts; therefore, you had to pay the difference. The CARS Protection ********* (CARS) ************************ is in receipt of your BBB review and responds as follows:CARS sells multiple types of VSCs offering a wide variety of coverages. Mechanical claims are adjudicated according to the Terms and Conditions of each customers specific VSC. Your VSC does not cover the cost of OEM parts. On April 18, 2025, a repair facility opened a mechanical claim on behalf of your Vehicle for a turbocharger. During the adjudication of this mechanical claim, you were provided two (2) options on how to receive the turbocharger needed for the repair. You had the option to have CARS ship the part and assist with the labor or to take the claim allowance and have your repair facility supply the turbocharger. On April 25, 2025, your chosen repair facility told CARS that you were going to take the claim allowance. By taking the claim allowance, you had the option to pay the difference between the cost of CARS supplied part and an OEM part supplied by your chosen repair facility. If you have any additional questions, please contact CARS.Sincerely,The ************************ laReview fromJames K

I just recently took in my SUV for a clunking sound in the front end and it ended up being a tie rod that had to be replaced. I took the vehicle to my mechanic, and they contacted the warranty company (C.A.R.S.) and everything was handled. The warranty paid for the part and while the vehicle was being serviced my mechanic recommended other parts connected to the tie rod to be replaced and I said go ahead since it was going to be apart anyways. My warranty clearly stated what was and wasn't covered and my mechanic called me as soon as he spoke to the warranty company, and I gave the green light. I paid for the extra parts to be replaced and C.A.R.S. paid for what was broken. My advice to some of the negativity in the reviews that I read is that this is not a new car type warranty. They pay for what part is broken and the rest is up to you as stated. I would recommend them.C.A.R.S Protection Plus Inc
