      When purchasing my 2015 *** X-5 50i from the dealership, I paid $3951.00 to Cars Protection Plus for the most inclusive service plan practically covering the vehicle completely. On Feb. 10, 2025 while driving down the interstate, may car broke down and I called for a tow truck for it be delivered to County Transmission. As of recently, the inspector contracted by Cars Protection Plus has already collaborated the results of the photos taken of my vehicle and the damages incurred. Furthermore, County Transmission has already contacted me explaining that the failure of the U-bolt caused the front drive shaft to drag on the road where further damage incurred involving the drive shaft coming back up and knocking a hole through the transmission case. My dispute currently is with Cars Protection plus where they denied coverage of fixing the transmission but offered to only pay for the drive shaft of the amount of $169.00. The total repair bill from County Transmission to fix my 2015 *** X5 50i is $7500 -$7800 estimate. I spoke directly to Cars Protection plus customer support along with upper management and tried for an override of the denial of the claim and for reconsideration honoring the complete payment of the repair and service bill to fix my car. I adamantly feel that Cars Protection Plus should not be in the business of offering service protection plan for consumers such as myself but instead in the business of robbing folks by taking our hard earned money for free. They knowingly and deliberately made clauses in their contract regarding the condition of breakage in the power train components such at the front drive shaft which when it does break will most likely cause further damages of other major components and parts such as the transmission and other under carriage components of high value. I just recently experience this and now I am asked to come out of my pockets for about $8000 dollars with money that I do not have.

CARS apologizes that you are upset with the processing of your mechanical claim. CARS has reviewed the mechanical claim in question and determined that it was adjudicated correctly according to the Terms and Conditions of your VSC. Your VSC is designed to help offset the cost of covered mechanical failures and does not cover damage caused by impact and/or accident regardless of the cause. The transmission/transfer case is only covered if damaged by a covered component internal to the transmission/transfer case housing.       I attempted to speak with a representative today about a warranty I received when purchasing a new car. The conversation started civil enough, but as it continued, she became aggressive and rude. After answering my question, she began to try to sell me their insurance. I tried to tell her that I only wished to know about the warranty and nothing more, but she refused to listen. Once I got her to listen to me, she told me that my car(which she previously praised) would break down soon, said 'Good luck, you're going to need it.' in a sarcastic tone and hung up on me.Terrible customer service.

      Took my vehicle to the dealership where the service *** called C A.R.S. protection and got a inspector out to see my vehicle. Got a approved for about 98% of which they paid $3800 and I paid my deductible and what they didn't cover. Which I cost me $400 out of pocket, which isn't a bad deal if you ask me. All this happened during the holidays to which was a little hassle but they did get it fixed. I am very thankful and happy on how it all worked out. Thanks again.

      I bought a 2019 *** 750 with 36K+ miles and the radiator started leaking. I contacted Cars Protection Plus (CARS) and I was informed that I could take it to any mechanic. I took my car to ******** *** on 12/11/24. There was a communication breakdown between CARS and ***. I didnt get updates from ***. When I called ***, the service *** said they were waiting for CARS and when I called CARS, the *** said they were waiting on ***. CARS finally sent the inspector, but my car sat 8 days with no repair. On the 8th day after being the intermediary between CARS and ***, I was given another service *** who said I was approved for $1076, I called CARS and the *** confirmed that amount was actually $1776. I contacted the *** service *** with the update and I got no response. I went to ***, my original service *** was out and service *** I was given was at company function. I was fed up, I told the service manager to give me my car and I was not charged. I called CARS to cancel my claim with ***. I parked my car for the holiday and I opened another claim with Auohaus of Union 12/30/24. CARS approved $1550 instead of the $1776 approved for ***. I paid $427 out of pocket.

CARS cannot respond on behalf of that repair facility.Regarding the difference in authorized amounts between repair facilities; mechanical claims do not transfer between repair facilities and authorized amounts can vary for a variety of reasons. The difference between the two (2) mechanical claims made on behalf of your Vehicle was that the second repair facilitys labor rate was $50.00 per hour less than the first repair facilitys labor rate.The out-of-pocket amount you paid on the second mechanical claim was your $100.00 per mechanical claim deductible and items that are not listed for coverage on your *************** Contract such as, miscellaneous shop supplies and the radiator hose.       Did what they promised. Needed a $1k+ repair done 2 days before warranty expired and they covered it with no problem. Excellent in my book!

      There are a lot of bad reviews on the insurer, but my experience was not bad at all. We have two (2) *** vehicles (2016 435ic & 2021 X7) with a policy on each. I did get feedback from our mechanic (local garage) that CARS was difficult to deal with in filing the claim. I was told by our local mechanic that certain parts (valve cover) that is habitually replaced with a failed gasket was not being covered, but in the end the insurer did cover it. We had to reassure the mechanic that we would pay the cost of any work not covered. The process with our local mechanic took over a week, which I thought was excessive. CARs covered just over $1,400 on the parts and repair. That same week, we also took our X7 to the *** dealership for routine service and were told we needed a ball joint and some type of rod at a cost of $2K. The dealership made the claim and CARs sent out an adjuster the next day to inspect. The report from the insurance adjuster took a day, and approval was given the following day to complete the repair. In all it took 3 days to get the vehicle serviced, repaired and returned. CARs did not replace certain bolts associated with the failed part/s, which I opted to replace at the dealership's recommendation. I did call CARs on each claim to check on the process and see if I could assist at all. They were prompt and professional on each call. I did ask the insurer if using a dealership versus a local mechanic was more efficient in the claim process, but they denied any difference. My advice, know your policy - read it and follow it. Be prepared to direct your mechanic if they're not familiar with the process. I printed our policy and highlighted the process, policy number and telephone numbers for them. I found most mechanics and dealerships are familiar with the claim process. So far, we are happy we had the insurance, but disappointed in the amount of time the local mechanic and/or CARs took to complete the first claim/repair.

      The service advisor at my dealership handled the contact with C.A,R.S. A Claim for replacement of 3 wheel bearings and an oil leak paid as covered by my policy. I was very pleased with the outcome of the process.
