I was sold the contract under the impression that my neighbor had also purchased one because ***********************, the door to door rep, had told me this. He presented a whole house pest service, including mouse traps, cobweb cleaning, and outdoor spraying. ****** never mentioned that it was a 2year but when 1st guys came they told it was. ****** changed it. I was also told they only did 4 rooms and I only got 3 traps for a 2,300 sq. ft. house with finished basement. 2nd guy came and only sprayed outside and left. I am being told it is my responsibility to call to have them come back. I am trying to cancel my contract and they are now charging me for a service I never received. TheCSR are unable to do anything but give platitudes and read from a script while their coworkers scream into the headset next to them. It is a terrible organization. During this time I lost the debit card they had on file for payment. I decided it would be a good time to end the contract since they were the ones who had breached the terms by not fulfilling the services I had signed up for. My conversations with their CSR’s began around July or August. I tried very hard to communicate what the situation was and how it should be resolved. Every time I hung up the phone I was left with impression that it was taken care of only to start receiving calls and texts a few weeks later. On 12/19/22 I was guaranteed my account was cleared and closed. Only to receive a call from a Collection agent on 1/6 and see my account was not only still active but another 212 was added for service I never received. They have offered me a discount on that one. Yes, a discount on something I never got. This company is run from bottom up and I can’t resolve my issues.Business Response

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your recent experience with Ecoshield. We are committed to making things right however we can. We reviewed your account and found that the 9/17/22 received appointment reminders the day and week before it took place. When the technician arrived, nobody was home to let them in. Due to interior services being optional and only done if requested, we would not call you to set it up. Due to today being about 4 months since your last visit, it is now outside the warranty window, so you would need to receive a quarterly service in order for both the interior and exterior to be fully serviced. If you decide to continue, we can waive the $20 late fee, and $212 initial discount chargeback, but you would need to pay the 9/17/22 visit of $210.94.

Business sold us services based on a lie, they said they serviced our business neighborhood and secured a contract from us unknowingly. The services did not work. We have been trying to cancel the service for the past two months and they keep sending service providers to our house and will not let us out of our contract without paying a termination fee.Business Response

This is the final invoice they sent. It is for an early termination even though we gave them every chance to provide effective service. This should confirm the address. Im happy to send ove every email correspondence I have if that would be helpful. For the record, after many hours on the phone and getting nowhere, I did leave negative reviews on **** and ******* which seems to have finally gotten their attention. They wrote me to say they would be honoring the contract and in so waiving the early termination fee. I consider the matter settled with that, but would still like to persue the case with the BBB just so its on the record. From reading reviews on line it is clear to me that the way I was treated is a rule not an exception, and theyre entire M.O. is underperforming then trying to squeeze made up fees out of unhappy customers.

On June 15,2022 4-5 men came to my door selling extermination services. The sales pitch was quarterly services at $179 per service, I told them it was too pricey and the reduced the amt to $150. per quarter. They had an I pad that was impossible to read. I was told that I would receive a copy via e mail. I never receive the copy until Nov 9,2022 after I called and was told that they sent a copy in June to an incorrect e mail address, I have been trying to resolve issues with them from the beginning. I have had 3 services since June and have paid for each, now I am being told that there are 5 Services at $179 each. They stated in the contract the the total cost was $400. To date I have paid $507.00.I called them on 7/20/22 to attempt to correct the price and get a copy of the so called contract, nothing happened . I called again in Oct and Nov. I cancelled the contract. Now they are billing me for an additional $270.30 for cancellation fee. I spoke to reps named ********, ********, ******, ****, and ***** to no avail. I also spoke to other reps on two other occasions but di not get their names. I am unhappy with the service, they came out on Oct 13, 2022 and I didn't know they were here since I was out of town and they left a voice message that I didn't receive. It simple seems to be some type of scam or con that I am not going to accept. At no time did I allow any one in my home since this was outside exterminating. I would appreciate any help that you can render. I am a widowed senior living alone. Normally, I am very cautious about this type of thing since scams seem to be proviolent in our society. EcoShield Pest Solutions completed application of pest materials around my house for spiders, ants, pill bugs, etc. The cost was about $179.00. This was paid by credit card, and I asked whether I could cancel the service anytime and was told that I could. The most recent application made on October 28, 2022 for which I received a bill of $189.74. I called November 1, 2022 to cancel the service because it is entirely too costly. I learned that my neighbors are paying around $325 for the entire year! When I called this morning I was told that there would be a $200.00 cancellation fee. I stated that I would pay the $189.74 for the October 28, 2022 service but not the $200.00 cancellation fee. When I first used this company, there was no mention of the cancellation fee. This morning on the phone, I was told that the 50% initial discount had to be reimbursed if I canceled. After my call this morning, I received an invoice for $389.74! I believe this company is involved in fraudulent business practices. I hope you can help so that my credit is not affected when I do not pay the cancellation fee. I appreciate your help. I have all receipts and documents, but cannot add them to this document. They are on my Iphone.In addition, I believe other people in my 0ver 55 community are also in this position.Business Response

We have continued to service this customer to this day. The one-page service agreement outlines the number of services and the prices. When you signed up, you agreed to a certain amount of services, so we provided you with a discount of $200. If you wish to discontinue services, we only ask for the discount back. This company door to door solicits. They did not fully explain terms of the contract and told me all I had to pay was 200.00 and then shoved an **** in my face to sign what I was told was the first fee and that I could cancel at anytime. Total scam. They keep your credit card on file so they can recurring charge you which I was NOT told would happen and then come out for service whether you want it or not because they have your card. I tried to cancel and then was hit with a 318.00 charge again which I was not informed about. I just want to cancel my account. Based on the other countless BBB complaints this company is terrible and only out to get money instead of delivering a product and customer service like other companies have in pest management. I signed up for eco shield because they guaranteed they would get rid of my cicada killer hornets which took over my yard along some other bug problems around my property. The came out 2 times (about a month apart) and did the applications and charged me close to $400 for those treatments. I noticed that none of the bugs were gone around my property and infact there were now even more bugs than before( I had a new slug infestation ) and the cicada killer wasps were entirely unaffected, they were out there in full force bit deterred what so ever. So I called eco shield and told them what was going on and they said they would come next week and then next week came and they had to push to the following week and this happened again untill a month went by before someone actually came to “touch up” the problem areas ( which was my whole property). Concluding the touch up treatment the tech tells me that he’s not going to be able to keep the cicada killers away and the only was to get rid of them is the keep my lawn wet around the clock. So I’ll just suite my job to stay home and water all day. They guaranteed me that they would eliminate these bees to get me to sign up. Then when the bees don’t go away after 3 visits they say the only way to keep them away is to maintain a wet yard. I called another company who came out and within 24 hours every single bee was gone and they haven’t returned since. I want a refund of the money I paid them because they didn’t do for me what they gauranteed I would get for my money. Then I had to pay another company to do what I already payed eco shield to do.Business Response

I’m sorry if I didn’t respond in a timely manor and the case was closed but in eco shields response they blatantly lied to me. The o only reason I signed on with them is because I was personally Gaurenteed the cicada killer hornets were covered. I specially reached out to the company in the first place exclusively for that type of hornet as o was having issues with them in my yard. I further Inquired about the cicada killers to the salesman who was signing me up, where firther guaranteed they were covered. Prior to signing the contract I again reached out to the salesman to confirm without any doubt the cicada killer hornets were 100% covered, because the cicada killers were the only reason I was signing up, to which he again confirmed they were covered and personally guaranteed me they were 100% covered, which I have the texting thread to prove it. So not only did they blatantly lie to my face at the time of signing they continue to blatantly lie about what happened. I apologize if I’m being repetitive, this is just very frustrating.
