      ********** subscription cost. On the page to subscribe to their plans, they show a few 1 month and 12 month plans, but do not make it clear how you will be billed, making you wait until after entering payment details to find out how much you will actually be charged.

      I have been doing Duolingo since 2018. I subscribed to and have paid for Duo Max for almost two years! I loved the app UNTIL six weeks ago the app switched to ONLY Daily Refresh. I could not get back to my learning path and still cant. I have reported this issue NUMEROUS times but have never received ANY feedback about fixing it!! Only an automated reply that says, Thank you for your reply, weve updated the reference number with your message unless you have new information to include. That is the extent of their help or lack of!! **************************** is a JOKE!

      I have noticed that the ******s and ****** prompts change based on your score multiplier. Ex.1 - time continues on timed vocabulary matching exercises during the section breaks in each matching ******. Ex. 2 - the timed ramp up challenge with a score boast gave me multiple multi-sentence writing prompts (on my phone mind you) on the lowest level of the ramp up. When the score multiplier expired the writing prompts went to 3-4 words prompts. Ex. 3 - the end of ****** celebrations are unable to be skipped (its normal with or without a score multiplier). These celebrations are slower and get stuck after each ****** with a multiplier. The whole game slows down and gets buggy when a score multiplier is activated Summation: I paid over $150 for a year and despite that the makers of this app have created an experience where the user cannot get the value out of the app they expect. The makers of this app desire money and have manipulated the app to try and force more spending. This app is not worth it, there are other options. Watch Destinos on ******** get an online tutor, watch childrens cartoons in the language you desire to learn. Avoid this app and any other by the creators. They do not care about quality or helping people to learn languages. Their purpose is to fleece as many people as they can.

      Im a paid subscriber and the app keeps freezing. I cant get through a course to move on. Ive emailed support over 15 times and no one replies. They dont have a customer support number. Im also a shareholder. Buyer beware!

      My Duolingo app froze after 5 1/2 months of use. I couldnt unfreeze it, and Duolingo never replied to multiple requests for help over 10 days. I then asked them to reimburse me for the remainder of my annual subscription, but they never replied and did not reimburse me. I tried to initiate arbitration, as per their terms of use, by sending them a Notice of Claim by email and certified mail, but they never responded. So Ive given them $91.59 for 6 1/2 months of use of an app that I cant use and they wont help me fix.

      I encounter endless technical problems with no tech support available. It does not matter that you are paying a subscription fee. This still does not provide you access to tech support. I have been a super member on an annual subscription plan for some time now. The technical issues are a daily problem and there is no way to get technical support in the application. Once you have paid for the year there is no way to get a partial refund. It does not matter that the program is a hot mess of technical issues too bad for you.

      Support staff are thin-skinned and inept. I've been told by native speakers of several languages that what they teach is incorrect anyway. App is unstable on its best day. Duolingo should be put out of business.Avoid this company like the plague would my recommendation.

      The "free trial" is a scam. I have been using the free Duo for almost a year. They started advertising a free trial, and that they would alert you a few days before that your trial is ending so it wont take you by surprise. I signed up so I wouldn't have to deal with ads or limited hearts during my vacation. They charged me for a full YEAR membership before the trial ended. No notifications or warnings whatsoever. I only got a notification from ***** saying I was charged. I contacted Duo and they said I have to go through ***** because it was purchased through ***** - they aren't responsible (which makes absolutely no sense) and there are no refunds. ***** said I need to go through Duo because ***** is not responsible for in-app purchases made by a company, so they have no ability to process a refund. Duo also said I would have seen the notification if I had push notifications on. I do - I get annoying notifications all the time about stupid stuff, but not about them about to charge me for a membership I didn't want. The Duo *** said that customer satisfaction is important to them and to message them back if I don't come to a resolution. Messaged them several times after the first exchange - NO response.

      Absolutely the worst in customer service!! I dont think anyone works there. Just AI constantly annoying you!I believe I got swindled into a yearly membership. When I got an email back(the 1 and only communication) they said tough!Ive been trying since then to get my grandson and myself on the same team, so we can work together no replies!By the look of these postings, I should have checked them out closer! Buyer be ware with these guys!

      I have been a family plan member for a year and it expired in October. Due to divorce financial hardship wasnt able to afford renewing it for my kids. Today Dec 28th I got an ad on the app saying 12 months for 60% off and thought this would make a great gift for my kids . Upon renewal I found out that its an individual membership. Im sure you can imagine the disappointment! Let alone that I tried to cancel and get my money back and it says there will be no refund issued!!!! The cancel anytime is misleading. They dont even have a valid phone number ! Shame on them for tricking people like that. Renewal in respectable companies means renewing the SAME former plan. Shame!
