PLEASE LISTEN TO THESE RESPONSES ON BBB AND DO NOT PURCHASE FROM PENSKE!! We paid a deposit to Penske to purchase 2 semi-trucks in April 22'. Penske reps kept giving us the run around and we were unable to close until June. This should've been a red flag, prompting us to pull out of the transaction but we decided to proceed anyway. Within the 14-day period, one of our trucks didn't start. The part that we needed was on national backorder and had no ETA. We were asking and pleading for a buyback, trade-in, or anything that would allow a small company to continue to run and again Penske continued to give us the run around. Stating they had to go through their processes prior to doing any type of buyback. After 2 months elapsed, the rep specified that they would be able to issue a buyback if the part didn't come in by a specified date, the date came and went. We contacted Penske and of course they said that now they have the part coming to the mechanic. We waited for another 2 weeks before the part actually arrived. The truck was finally fixed 3 months after we first picked it up from south Florida. Penske covered the repairs but the cost was over $12K. Imagine this is your business and these problems arise after their 14-day warranty period and you are no longer covered, would you be willing and able to pay 20% of the purchase price of an asset before you're able to use it.... The next week the 5th Wheel needed to be replaced. 2 weeks later, we're stuck on the side of the road. Since this is a day cab, we had to purchase hotel stay, per diem for food, and repairs. 2 weeks later, we're stuck on the side of the road again due to a slew of different problems. In short, the other truck has needed over $12.5K in repairs as well that were not covered by Penske or warranty. It has been in the shop for a total of 1 month out of the 7 months that we've owned it. PENSKE SELLS POORLY MAINTAINED EQUIPMENT, THESE PROBLEMS WILL BE YOURS IF YOU DECIDE TO PURCHASE FROM THEM!!Business Response

I rented a high roof van from Penske on Feb 25, 2022 at 10:50 AM PST, and returned it on Feb 26, 2022 at 10:50 AM PST, with RA#********. When I left the Penske parking lot, I wasn't informed on any pre-existing damage to the vehicle. When I left, I was also informed that there was no damage to the vehicle, since I have a paper that already tells me that. Neither the employee after inspection say anything, I got an email from Penske saying there was a scratch, and that I accept all the damages. No, I do not, because I never damaged the vehicle at all. Can someone please look into this and have this fixed.Business Response

In mid December we rented a truck with Penske to use for our business purposes. We picked this up a day prior to when we needed it. The next morning we went to use this truck and the check engine light came on. We called our account rep and was instructed to swap this truck out 21 miles away for a new truck. We did this and during that transaction we were asked to provide another form of payment as a back up. We ended up getting charged on both the new and old forms of payment. Once we inquired with Penske we were ignored via email and a credit card dispute was placed. At this time our account rep emailed and asked for a new form of payment. When we tried to explain the situation, our requests were ignored and our dispute was lost. As of today we paid for a broken down truck that we were able to drive 21 miles to swap out and paid for the new truck. We'd like to see a refund in the amount of $449.49 for the use of the broken truck. Email trail and Truck A & B charges attached. Truck A was the truck with check engine light which was rendered useless to our team and was never used outside of driving a few miles from pick up location to our warehouse and again the 21 miles to the new truck. Please provide responses via email to ensure we have an understanding in writing of our expectations.Business Response

This involves Penske leasing ******* Financing in Reading Pa, and ******* Financing We have taken out our life savings to start a trucking business. We found one that we were interested in on the Penske website and was approved for a loan through ************************** On 11/16/22 I made a 1,000 dollar security payment to Penske/******* in order for them to secure the truck that I wanted. From that point Penske was to get the truck in the shop to ensure the truck was operational and up to DOT standards. Speaking with ***** in Dallas where the truck is actually located he stated that the trucks on the lot may have some issues but once a deposit is made they place the trucks in service. My sales rep is ********************************* in Reading Pa. I live in Longview Tx and buying the truck from Dallas Tx which is 2 hours away ( you will understand why I am stating this in a moment ) between 11/16/2022 and 12/9/2022 we were in negations with **** from Penske and *****************/ *************************** from ******* about different details and items needed to secure the loan. ( their response time to any questions is horrible often times never emailing or calling back we would have to initiate the call) One thing that was mandatory to have before the loan could be complete was the purchase of insurance. On 12/9/22 I purchased Insurance in the amount of 811.29 and made a down payment to ******* for 9,000 dollars. I was informed the truck should be ready by mid December from sales rep ********************************** Me thinking I would be rolling very soon I quit my job working as an adjustor preparing to start my own business. It was not until 01/10/23 that we were told the unit was ready to pick up and at that time is when **** sent over the tags and other paperwork needed in order to pick up the truck. Keep in mind 01/09/23 my second insurance payment is due I do not have a truck. ( so i am out of 2 months of insurance ) the original due date for the loan was the end of January. So ******* sent over new documents for us to sign with a new due date for the loan of 02/26/23 On 01/11/23 I drive 2 hours from Longview to Dallas to pick up the truck. As soon as I get in the truck and crank it, the DEF light is on and there is a windshield chip. ( how is this not noticed ) I was told they had to order a sensor for the DEF light and they would get the windshield fix. I left with no truck. I drive back on 01/16/23 to pick up the truck. I drive the truck maybe 25 miles down the road ( not out of the city yet ) and the check engine light comes on and a message saying stop engine. Penske had to tow the truck to a service shop because something was wrong with the DPF. They had to replace the regen on the truck. ( also tied to the DEF) On 01/23/23 I drive back to Dallas to pick up the truck and literally in the exact same location the check engine light comes on again and the message says warning engine. I contact the service department and they tell me to bring the truck back. This time they replace the EGR. ( which is tied to the DEF DPF REGN ) At this point I am now concerned with the upcoming payment of insurance 02/09/23 and loan payment of 02/26/23 since I still do not have a truck. On 01/24/23 I speak with **** at ******* about the issue. ( *** at ******* was the original guy we were working with and never would call us back) He is totally unaware that I have had any problems and says he would contact Penske and let me know about being able to push the due date back a 2nd time because at this point I don't know when I will get a truck and even when I get the truck a payment will be due in less than a month. I also have a 15 day window from once I received the truck to identity any issues in order to take it back to the shop for it to be addressed. **** said that we would have to wait about 2 weeks away from the due date for the payment to be addressed and they had to see when the truck would be ready. ( why would we have to wait for them to push the due date back like they have done before ) On 01/30/23 I was told the truck was ready I drive back to Dallas and finally was able to make it home with the truck which it seemed as if it had some bad vibration but I was just thinking maybe that's how it rides and I was honestly happy to make it home without the check engine light to come on. I am still concerned with the upcoming due date being less than a month away and me about to be on my 3rd month of paying for insurance for a truck I am just picking up. So I addressed the concern to Penske and they sent the concern to premier. I got a reply back from ******* on 02/01/23 from *******,******* ( still no *** ) stating Unfortunately, I do not know for sure when your next payment date is. Please call ******** **** Financial Services USA LLC (******* Truck Financial) at ###-###-####. They should be your point of contact from here on. So this is how I found out that my loan was sold to another company. I didn't get a call no letter in the mail nothing stating that our loan was being turned over to a different company and still to this day we haven't received a call or letter stating such or a reason why. So now I am very concerned being out of pocket 1749 and 3 months of insurance and haven't been able to make any money from the truck because of mechanical issues that should have been taken care of to begin with. After driving the truck on 02/08/23 to get my etracks installed the vibration is much worse to the point I cannot see out of my side view mirror. With me being within 15 days of having the truck I emailed Penske and they had me to put it in the shop here in Longview and they will not even be able to look at the truck until 02/22/23 which is what i was told. I have been in possession of the truck for 11 days and now its back in the shop and I have a payment due on 02/26/23. I called ******* and they are telling me they cant refund me for the 1st months of insurance 811 and they can’t push the payment back and that Penske should make the payment or get premier to pay the loan and rewrite the contract for it to be signed and due date pushed back. ******** ****** from Penske says the following Please see your approved reimbursement amount below Absolutely! Payment was received by Penske on 1/6 and first payment due is 2/26 = approximately 7 weeks. I divided $1749/7 weeks to get your “weekly payment” of $249.88 a week. Since you did not have the truck in your possession from 1/6 to 1/30 (24 days) I rounded that up to 4 weeks and multiplied it by the 249.88 weekly payment. This gave me the total of $999.53 which I rounded up to $1000.00 1749.19/7 weeks 249.88 a week 249.88 x 4 weeks 999.53 Is the payment still 1749 due feb 26th? Yes, that is correct- we are unable to have the lender push this back which is why are we reimbursing you for the amount of time you were unable to operate the unit after paying for it. 3. Will we receive something in writing in regards to who the new lender is? *** ***** with ******* said he would speak with you this morning regarding the confusion with ******* being your lender. He may be able to provide some documentation or at least a contact with ******* for you. TOTAL APPROVED COMPENSATION 2964.21 ( not sure what she means by Penske received payment on 01/6 ) So I also asked about the first month of insurance I am out of 811 she says that was required by premier so they are not obligated to pay that. So I accepted the payment. HOWEVER, THAT WAS WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE LOAN COMPANY WOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR THE MONTH OF INSURANCE I WAS OUT OF. ALSO NOW WITH THE TRUCK BACK IN THE SHOP THE PAYMENT NEEDS TO BE PUSHED BACK OR I AM IN NEED OF ADDITIONAL REIMBURSEMENT. SO WHAT I AM NEEDING IS PREMIER/DAIMLER/[PENSKE TO EITHER A. PUSH THE PAYMENT DATE BACK OR B. MAKE THE 1ST MONTHS PAYMENT ON MY BEHALF. KEEP IN MIND AS I AM TYPYING THIS I DO NOT I REPEAT I DO NOT HAVE A TRUCK YET. THEY WANT ME TO MAKE A PAYMENT ON A TRUCK THAT I HAVE BEEN IN POSSEION OF FOR 11 DAYS TOTAL. I AM SEEKING THIS RESLOUTION BEFORE I SEND OVER ALL MY DOCUMENTATION TO MY LAYWER FOR BREACH OF CONTRACT DUE TO BEING SOLD A INOPERABLE TRUCK THAT I AM EXPECTED TO MAKE A PAYMENT ON. I HAVE MADE GOOD ON MY END THESE COMPANIES NEED TO MAKE THIS RIGHTBusiness Response

I began the process of buying a Level 1 Truck on the last week of November 2022. During my test drive of the vehicle I noticed a few things that I asked to be addressed during the 3-4 week time period Penske advised it would take to handle paperwork and repairs on the truck to assure that it was being sold as a Level 1 vehicle. There were issues post sale with Title Work as well as mechanical issues which resulted in us returning the vehicle to a local ******'s for repairs. Some of the repairs needed were the same that were noted during the test drive in November. ******* ****** was the post sale team member that was assigned to us to assist with getting the repairs done. I requested reimbursement which ******* advised he would only be able to reimburse for the time the truck was in the shop getting repairs. After picking the unit up the truck continued to have the same issues so I contacted ******'s and Penske to advise the repairs were not fixed. I then requested multiple times to be connected with someone from corporate who can look over the timeline of incidents between the delay of title paperwork and mechanical issues to see if we were fairly and properly being reimbursed and to help us get this truck safely on the road. We had the truck total of 8-11 days and have over $9,000.00 of business expenses not including our personal living expenses. I requested an advance of the reimbursement so that we may bring the truck in for needed repairs and still make be able to make our truck and insurance payment. I was advised by ******* ******* that I would be given a small percent of the actual amount that we have paid as reimbursement and would not be able to request further reimbursement despite the truck still not being fixed. I feel that there is barely if at all any accountability being taken. This has been a major inconvenience to my business and my family.Business Response

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:The issue has not been resolved. Alex reached out to me about the unit. We took the unit in two weeks ago to be repaired and was told the truck will be ready for pickup early this week. After contacting ******* we now know that they are still working on diagnosing the truck. We have only been able to use the truck for less than a month since purchasing and picking up in late December and have now made a total of 3 months worth of truck and insurance payments. The unit is still not ready and there is no time frame as to when it will be completed. Again, this truck should not have been released because these repairs were noted during test drive back in November and now I am paying the price for it as this is now the third time the truck is needing the same repairs.

I rented a 15ft truck that I was unable to get running for3 days I tried to contact the manager there and couldn't due to the weekend. Once I was able to get the vehicle running I then filled it with gas which they say I was 1 gallon short but charged 2 even though the pump stopped on its own meaning it was full by the gauges standards. Upon returning it they ended up charging almost 200 extra. The manager swore and used profanity. Told me it I wasn't satisfied I could call his manager in skoehegan. I then called that gentlemen and explained the gehicle wouldn't run the whole time I had it and that they overcharged for the gas. The manager said he would look into the situation and call me back Friday. Since the business won take my calls.Business Response

I started the purchase of a truck on September 15th 2022, the first truck unit #****** didn't go through as there was issues with the location getting it ready. after weeks of waiting i was told I need to pick another truck. I pick another truck unit #****** which was located in San Antoine TX, I was notified. that the truck was ready for pick up on the 15th of November I told them that I will pick it up on the 18th of November around 10AM I was told that the vehicle will be service, clean and ready to go when I get there. I rent a vehicle and drove From Humble to San Antonio go there around 9:30AM the truck was not starting apparently. nothing was done it was not clean, there was residue of sticker all over the outside of the truck and the inside was very filthy the key wasn't working right the guy that was helping me had to cut a new key for me . I took the truck because I had already drop off my rental vehicle and had other obligations for the evening on my way back I turn on the heat and there was freon coming through the vent. I turn it off and call Penske their told me to take the truck to ***** Fleet Services .I drop the truck off the next day (11/19/2022) call Penske the following week to find out when the truck was going to be ready for pick up and i was told that their could not get InTouch with anyone I keep calling and i keep getting the same answer on the 7th I got a call that the truck was ready for pick up I pick up the truck and took it to get clean and detail drove the truck for three days and more issues arose than I previously had, it is losing air, has a fluid leak around the Transmisson, the check engine light came on ,Transmisson went from automatic to Manual while driving ,Abs and other lights are on the dash currently the truck is stuck in manual and unsafe to operate on public roads. I contacted Penske and the said that I was outside the 15 days warranty I try to tell them that their had the truck for 19th days in their position .Business Response
