Boscov's sells EXTREMELY terrible quality items online and tells customers they need to pay to return it.
If I could give them a negative rating, I would.
I bought 14 "soft" towels from Boscov's online. They are just as soft as sandpaper. Terrible product.

Boscov's prides itself in providing quality products to our customers at a fair price. We are disappointed to hear that the towels fell short of your expectations. For that reason, you should have been provided with a prepaid return label due. A label will be provided to you via email. 1 starcomplaint is regarding customer service at Shoe Department at Erie Local Boscov's store. On Nov.18th2023 at 9:15 ET sales person Lou /she didn't have store ID on her, but I think I spelled name right/, couldn't assist me with return, order #62116279 complaining she can't find my credit card in Boscov's system!?...... She asked me few times to show the receipt, I did. She told me multiple times to enter my cc to all Boscovs machines on twp ends of the desk. I did. And it still didn't go through.....Finally she created a line of people behind and said she can't credit my card! And maybe I used different card!!!............I have never in my life experienced such non existent customer service for a store selling shoes because of seller Lou! When I asked for a Manager to help, she said there is nobody yet at the store and I can go to the front doors!!!.....Well, finally I found real customer service associate at Man's clothing department and she credited my credit card within a minute. I always love Boscov"s. I think Boscov's business is 5+ /five plus/ stars. But because of Lou I rated it today minus 1 star. Hopefully Management of Boscovs LLC will find it helpful for the best of the business. ThanksReview fromWendy B

1 starI added my daughter as authorized user. I was told by customer service that since she is my daughter, not spouse, it will not be added to her credit. They were wrong. Somehow it was added to her credit without me or my daughter giving them her social security number. Now after multiple attempts with customer service they said we must dispute it with the credit bureaus. So more time and red tape to fix their error.Review fromJames M

3 starsIn the Men's shoe department today, where I saw Sketcher shoe that appeared isimilar to their ad. I took a shoe to the checkout to ask for my size to try on.
The employee said oh, that's a woman's shoe, I'll show where the men's Sketchers are. So she takes me to a display a little further down saying this is the men's Sketchers.
If your goal is to make your customers feel foolish, it works. There were no signs on display saying Women's Sketchers. It was the Mens side of the shoe department. Where is the logic for withholding a simple sign where women's shoe are displayed(in the men's Shoe Dept??? Management fails simple Logic.Review fromRICHARD J

1 starOn the 11 of Aug 2023 when my Wife a Black woman!!!!! went shopping there, as she was leaving the store 2 White guys from the store security stopped her in the parking lot and accused her of stealing merchandise!!!!! Which she had not!!!!!! In my opinion they had racially profiled her because she’s a Black woman!!!!!!She's from Trinidad and she had never in her whole life experienced this before so needless to say she got very upset!!!!!They treated her with disrespect!!!!!!because she was Black!!!!!While in the store all she bought was 2 pair of stockings which she paid for at the cashier before she left the store. When she asked to see the one who had mistakenly Accused her of stealing, they would not let her confront her Accuser to ask why they thought she had stolen merchandise in the first place!!!!! They made some weak excuses because of store policy they would and could not!!!!So because of what happened to her at the Boscov’s store at the Colonie center in Albany NY, she’s going to tell all her Black friends what happened and not to shop there!!!!!! She is also going to bring back the 2 pair of stockings she bought there and get her money back as well because this incident!!!!!Review fromTom S

The financial institution they use for the Boscov's Credit Card are rip off's! Paid the balance off on a large purchase made. Bill was due on a Sunday and the credit card received it on Monday. After the balance was paid to zero, charged my account a late fee. Did not see that they charged a late fee because I paid the balance owed on the statement to zero. Then received interest and an additional late fee on a zero principal balance. Called and spoke with 5 different representatives who REFUSED to remove the late fees. I kept escalating and NOBODY would help. Kept saying they could not do it. To stop the interest from accruing on a ZERO PRINCIPAL balance, I paid the balance, with the understanding that someone was going to call back. They NEVER did! Now I get a statement showing the payment, but still showing that I owe yet ANOTHER LATE FEE? For what? I always thought Boscov's was a reputable company, but it appears that they just are like everyone else, ripping loyal customers off with late fees on late fees and interest on zero balances. While Comenity Capital Bank is our partner who fully manages the credit portfolio, their policies and procedures, and regulations they are held accountable to, do not always align with Boscov’s beliefs on the level of service our customers deserve. I placed an order online o Saturday April 22. Order was confirmed, Boscov's card charged. Hours later, order was cancelled but charge remained. Have talked to numerous Boscov and ******** bank people about have charge removed, no help. Now charged the monthly bill with cancelled charge still showing up. Money has been stolen from meBoscov's Department Store, LLC

We apologize for any frustration as a result of your order rejecting. The order was not canceled. There was a system error and it never transmitted to our fulfillment systems. The charge on your account is a pending authorization and Boscov's will not settle against that authorization, as no merchandise has shipped. 1 starPoor quality and service. We purchased a couch and loveseat Dec 2021. Just over a year ago. We also purchased an extended warranty that the boscovs sales associate highly recommended. This was a 5 year gold extended warranty. We are experiencing numerous issues with this furniture. Including a torn seam. Sunken in seat on couch. Back of loveseat won’t stay attached. Wood chips falling out of back of couch. Serveco, the warranty company that we paid for, won’t cover any of it as they say it’s all manufacturer issues and poor quality furniture. They told us to contact boscovs. We could not get through to anyone via phone after multiple tries so we went into the store. The sales associate working couldn’t be bothered with us and said just email boscovs. We did email including all of the information and pictures of the furniture, warranty paid for, and receipt of purchase, and in 2 days received a response that boscovs won’t cover anything and to contact the furniture manufacturer. They gave a number to call which was an employment number for the furniture company. Not a number for customers. I have since emailed the furniture maker in hopes of a response. At this point, we have year old furniture, and a warranty we paid extra for, and poor quality cheap furniture that is falling apart after one year with no one offering any resolution.Review fromStephanie C

1 starStore staff were very difficult about returning an item without receipt. I was offered return for store credit (after I had to repeatedly ask about the store’s return policy if you didn’t have the receipt). Originally I was told I would receive lowest price item ringing up was $19.10 but oddly when they scanned the item for store credit it rang up as .99 cents for an item originally marked $49.99. This struck me as very odd as just a few minutes prior the item rang up at $19.10. This was a 2 piece trademarked Dr. Seuss pajama set with tags. Sales desk clerk insulted me by saying they no longer had any in stock in the store and the item could have been purchased from last year. Entire experience was insulting and a waste of my time. The product purchased had an inferior seam fall apart on the pant leg the very first time it was worn for a work theme party. It was embarrassing and clearly a very poorly made product. Boscovs is clearly not concerned with customer service, standing behind quality of merchandise they sell, or maintaining return policies similar to other large chain department stores. Very disappointed with this entire experience. Although I am certain my husband paid more than $19.10 for this product, I would’ve been fine with that credit, however the switch to 99 cents was suspicious and questionable business practice,Review fromKevin D

1 starI ordered two rugs (3x4 and 5x7) online. Got notification they were delivered, but they were not. At my door was two rugs (2x3) not even the design I ordered. I immediately called and explained the issue. I read the sku's off the rugs as asked since there was no packing slip. They apologized, checked if the original items were still in stock (which they were) and reordered with a slight discount for the inconvenience. They asked if I could return the two incorrect rugs which I did two days later to Plymouth Meeting. Customer service scanned them and said I was all good. The correct rugs arrived a few days later. Unfortunately, I was charged the original $200 something for the wrong delivery, and then another $190 something for the second delivery. I immediately called when I noticed it on the bill. I was told they would put a dispute in and it could take 90 days. The other day I received a letter stating the dispute was closed because missing information such as my name and details of the purchase were missing. Excuse me? You had it via a phone call and email. Such an online scam. I will not be paying that initial $200 for something I did not get.
