I canceled my membership when I had knee surgery which was back in October 22nd of 2022. I then got a notice in December of 2024 that they would be sending me to collections due to not paying for my membership that I didnt have. I have emailed ***** ****** 5 times and ***** ****** ones and ***** was to look into it and have never heard anything back. It has since been sent to collections and I should not have to pay due to be canceling the membership and now its in collections due to someone not doing their job. You cant ever get a manager to speak to at the ********** location.Initial Complaint

My wife and I joined this gym two years ago in May 2023 under a two-year membership. I called this past week and asked themnot to renew it and it is nearly impossible. Ive now been charged a cancellation fee, even though my membership ended this month And my wifes membership that was started on the same day still has two months left on it and they cannot tell me why the manager at the ********** location, has tried to help as much as she can. Its the corporate and the third-party firm that they use for membership, tracking and payments are impossible. They only tell you to talk to the gym and the gym tells you to call that number. Its far too complicated to simply not renew. so far beyond the terms of the original contract that charged me a cancellation fee during the same month that my membership was set to expire. have altered the joint dates between my wife and myself so that they are different and they are continuing to charge for my wifes membership totaling approximately $95-$100.Initial Complaint

Dec 17 went to club to cancel membership. Was told money would be deducted 2 more times. On Jan 17th money was deducted again. This would have been 3 times. I called the club and was told things changed and I would need to call the 888 number to cancel. I did that. Told them I was owed a refund of one payment. They said I needed to talk to my local club. They had no record of my local club canceling my membership. Several calls made to local club. Each time told by the manager that he needed to meet with the area manager. It never happened. I was able to have my checking acct removed from my acct so I wasn't charged more but now monthly I get letters telling me I owe $51.98. Now I am getting an email telling me it is $187.94. my son who is in high school gets daily calls from them. They are threatening collections. I have called every day to th local club and no one will answer. I have left messages and don't get a call back. Today I spoke to the manager that I dealt with in Dec and he said he no longer works there. It was a bad company. He didn't think they even had a manager.Customer Answer

I came to this business to cancel my membership on Frbruary 3rd, 2025. I was assured it was cancelled. I continued to be billed in February twice. There is never any staff at the business and they don't answer the phone or return phone messages. I have since disputed the charges with my bank and put a block on future charges from Anytime Fitness. They have now charged late fees and administration fees in excess of $100Initial Complaint

I have been trying to contact this business to cancel my gym membership but it seems no one is ever working here. They misled me into having me sign a 2 year agreement and now I want out of it and was willing to pay to get out of the agreement but no one will call me back. I called their corporate office and they put in a ticket for the business to contact me and they have not. I sent an email months ago trying to get someone to contact me. Anytime fitness misrepresents their service. First it was the three year contract that they create for you without telling you. Over the last three years I have called their customer service seven times and informed them of my intent to cancel at the end of July this year. At the beginning of August I received another transaction in my account from **********************. I again called customer service and they informed me that they would email the manager at their ********** location of my intent to cancel my membership. They (Clearfield location) messaged me on ******** on this past Saturday 8/24/24 and said that to avoid late fees in my account, I needed to contact them immediately. I replied that my membership was to be canceled and received no response. Today I was charged 35 dollars again. I tried to call the number to anytime fitness three separate times and have received no answer, and no response. I want my membership canceled and currently they have charged me 54 dollars worth of charges that should not be charged.Initial Complaint

I had an Anytime Fitness membership. On 04/15/24 I switched my plan to go through my **************** plan (Active and Fit Direct) turned in my OLD keyfob, and was issued a NEW keyfob due to switching plans. I was assured by both Anytime Fitness AND Active and Fit Direct that the membership fee gets billed through Active and Fit Direct and I will no longer receive billing or charges from Anytime Fitness.As of 05/03/24 Anytime Fitness has continued to attempt to charge me and even lists my account as being delinquent. Due to attempting to charge me and the card that was on the billing account no longer being active I have been charged $120 (over three dates) for declined charges from Anytime Fitness *************** and the delinquent account amount is $48.79, that Anytime Fitness continues to try to reach out to me to collect.They have texted me twice, and I have responded both times explaining that I switched my membership on 04/15/24. The number provided in the text from the Anytime Fitness manager, was the wrong phone number, as confirmed by a DIFFERENT CLUB and they gave me the correct number. I truly believe this is a fraudulent attempt for Anytime Fitness to continuously collect money even though I have changed my membership and have been reassured several times that Active and Fit Direct gets the billing information and the fee goes to them directly from me, and I do not have to pay Anytime Fitness directly anymore.Initial Complaint

I canceled my mebership on December 28th, 2023. They made me give a 30 day notice, so my membership would be officially done on January 28th, 2024. I have since been charged 3 times AFTER this period. They owe me $59.85 as of March 4th, 2024. I was charged twice after my account was closed. I have spoken to several people about this and have been assured I would receive a refund. Which the dates are on my attached document. I have been waiting and just want my refund.
