Anytime Fitness has ******** advertising that has 2 untrue statements. They advertise, "We're Looking for 8 Men".... But if you click, it claims "ONLY 4 spots left!". This amount never changes and is stated as such for multiple locations. This is misleading if not outright, untrue urgency. In addition, they have quotes from "locals", which are not locals. Canceled my membership in person at the **************** location. They showed me the cancelation letter they said would be emailed to me which it never was. I got billed the next couple months. Third month I put a stop payment on it. Some place call *** fitness called and left a message and said something about checking my account on iclub. So I did and it says it is cancelled and no payment is owed with no current active agreement. So I called called them back. There was a big language barrier. I could only understand about 1 out of every 6 words. She told me the **************** gym processed my cancellation wrong. Like it was my fault. And I needed to get ahold of them. Well this is great one of those third party companies. That do not communicate with each other. Which leaves the customer the messenger between the two companies. Would be better if *** would get ahold of them and talk it over. Not my fault they cant process stuff right. So I call the gym a few times and no answer. I go during their during staffed hours twice in one week. Door locked no staff is their. Sent emails to the gym, sent texts to the number they used to send texts to me with. Seems like they lost people and have no one there a lot of the time. I live I good distance away so it takes a lot of time driving to the gym I used to go to. I just wished I would of listened to the thousands of reviews saying they scam you out of money when you try canceling. I dont understand how it can say my membership is canceled and I owe nothing with no active agreement on Iclub and then *** says I do. I went in person to cancel it. Now no one is there during staffed hours and wont answer the phone, I have left message, sent email to the gym with no response.Initial Complaint

I was informed when I signed up for this membership that I can cancel anytime for $150.00. I agreed and signed the contract. When I went to cancel this agreement I was told that it was not allowed. I would like to cancel my membership immediately.Initial Complaint

I had late fees stacked up back in June of 2022 that I paid in full and cancelled my membership. The issue was that they messed up the billing on my end since they changed my credit card information. I recently got a call from collections despite cancelling this membership well over a year ago. I called Anytime Fitness today in ****************. The Representative ***** spoke down to me, implied that I am poor and should be ashamed, and said this is my fault. She yelled at me for saying one swear word and said my membership was not ever cancelled and that they don't cancel memberships over the phone despite me cancelling over the phone. ***** should be fired and this company should be investigated for malpractice and purposely making cancellation difficult for their customers.Initial Complaint

I joined in 2021 and signed a 1 Year contract. I then found out after my knee surgery on left, my knee on right is bad and needed surgery to. then to top it all off I need an Hernia operation.
I was only to lift 15 lbs.
Well I tried to cancel it and Anna said it was 2 years, when i signed up I was told one year.
I am not the first one this has been done to. I live on a fixed income, single with an aging mom I am helping.
After seeing they not only too out the $14.99 payment and another payment of $26.99 today.
I called them again to day, no-one ever answered the phone, they would only text >>GGRRR
so I have been over paying them for almost a full year. of $14.99 =150.00 this is BS
I even have a dr's not that i cannot lift over 15 and my knees are unstable.Initial Complaint

This issue will take many more than 2000 characters to explain, but for the sake of getting to the point, here is the main problem: I contacted ABC Fitness Solutions via email on Friday, ********-as per their instructions, which were sent to me on May 25, 2023--in order to cancel two gym memberships with Anytime Fitness of PA, Ebensburg, PA. Since then, I have been getting nothing but the "run around". To make a long story short: the gym membership *********** has FINALLY been cancelled (screenshots of my account login are attached), but the other membership *********** is in a "pending cancel" status, with another payment of $18.99 being shown due on 12OCT23. I spoke with the General Manager, "Sabrina", COUNTLESS times concerning this issue because that membership was to have been cancelled on Wednesday, 27SEP23, with NO MORE FEES DUE, after I paid what the automated system stated were due on Friday, 01SEP23. I spoke with the ABC Fitness Solutions customer service representative, John, at 6:23pm on 31AUG23 and he confirmed that pending cancellation. As of now, my membership *********** is in a "pending cancel" status, but is showing a balance due of $18.99, due on 12OCT23. I have in excess of well over 50+ text messages going back and forth with Anytime Fitness concerning this issue; GM Sabrina, is brand-new to the company and has been thrown into this this grossly mismanaged company and their unethical business-retention practices. I have also included copies of my lease agreement and a map of the distance from my home to the gym in question--which is over 25 miles from the "home gym" and not within 5 miles of another Anytime Fitness, as stated in the contract cancellation stipulations mentioned in the email attached from ABC Fitness Solutions. I want the membership *********** to be cancelled IMMEDIATELY. I do not trust Anytime Fitness and I will not tolerate any unfair charges being sent to collections in an attempt to ruin my credit rating.Initial Complaint

My Fiancé and I signed up for a 1-year membership with this location. When we went in to cancel the membership, we were told it was a 3-year membership instead of the original paperwork we signed up for. Today as of 8/21/23 i was informed that our contract won't end till April 26th, 2024.
I was trying to explain that we signed a one year and she kept saying all she had was a 3-year membership instead of a one year and called me a liar. I have tried to be reasonable and so has my fiancé that fact that neither one of us signed a 3-year agreement can be validated by 2 other witness who were there that day. This company is extending peoples days out and blaming on contracts that they wrote up so they can show membership. I would not sign a 3-year contract with any fitness company that is why we signed the one year to see if we would utilize it which we did not as the facilities stank and were unclean. The attitude on the phone just shows that they are only in it for the money and not the business they preach about
