      Deeply disappointed by my experience with Amica home insurance; who I purchased based on positive reviews elsewhere. initially they seemed fine - helpfully covered 2 small weather related claims over a 7 year period. They more than doubled my rate following those, and never admitted that was related to the claims, but aside from not telling me their rate policies I don't find that too problematic. What was almost disastrous was their dishonesty around the purchase of my new home. I contacted them before making an offer on the home to check if they saw any red flags or issues that would keep them from providing home insurance. They assured me they did not. I contacted them immediately after making my offer and requested an estimate. They quoted a high price (which was fine) and then indicated they just needed a manager to review and would just take a day or two. I called them several times over the next week and was never allowed to speak with a manager; but was simply told he would get back to me "probably tomorrow". With closing deadline coming soon I scrambled to find alternative home insurance with another company. Fortunately I succeeded. Multiple weeks later, the very last day before my scheduled closing - far far too late to actually provide insurance for a successful closing -- they finally called me back to limply ask if i still needed insurance and pretend they would've insured me. When I explained to the agent that I understood i had been blacklisted by their dishonest process he did not attempt to deny it. I don't mind at all if insurance companies decide not to offer insurance. I think it's sad they don't tell their customers what happens if you are stupid enough to actually file claims while owning insurance. I think it's downright dangerous and malicious that they would string me along risking tens of thousands of dollars in my ******* money deposit and threatening my ability to buy my next home. This company *****.

      The company called to explain that this failure to connect with me about insurance on my new home before closing was essentially just a gross failure of communication on their part rather than an intentional strategy. They further explained that they don't do a good job of telling homeowners the implication of using their insurance on their premiums because the nice folks who fulfill insurance claims aren't really connected to the folks who manage the premiums, and that is an area for improvement to help better educate homeowners. On the first point, which was my main critique, I guess it's good the mistake wasn't intentional.

      I was looking at Amica as one option for renewing my home, auto and umbrella policy. I spoke with a sales **** ******** *****, who was excellent and really worked with me to get a quote. When I was ready to sign the dotted line I was told that underwriting would not approve my homeowners due to the condition of my roof, which had been replace 4 years ago. When I gave this information to ********, he got back to me and said that Amica was not issuing homeowners policies in my area of ********. This despite the fact that I had received a mailer two weeks prior to my address in ******** stating that I had been "pre-selected for this special auto/home offer." Seriously....what a waste of time. I won't be recommending this company to anyone.

      ******! Amica is NOT the customer-focused "family" they claim to be! They are LIARS who will do anything to avoid paying legitimate claims!My experience with Amica has been a nightmare. Don't be fooled by their initial friendly demeanor. When it comes time to actually file a claim, their true colors emerge. They will jump through hoops, employ endless delaying tactics, and seemingly invent reasons to deny what should be a straightforward ********* my case, even after an adjuster validated the damages, Amica went to extreme lengths to avoid responsibility. They brought in layer after layer of third-party services, including lawyers, racking up costs that likely exceeded the original claim amount all in a blatant effort to wear me down and avoid paying what they owed.Their claims of putting the customer first are an absolute joke. They operate with complete disregard for their policyholders, prioritizing their bottom line over their supposed commitment to "family." Dealing with them has been an exercise in futility, stress, and outright injustice.If you're looking for an insurance company that will stand by you when you need them most, RUN, do not walk, away from Amica. Their promises are empty, and their actions demonstrate a shocking lack of integrity. You will regret ever giving them your money.

      I just had a total loss on my house which Amica Insurance made me insure for a large amount (expensive policy). I just received their settlement offer which amounted to less than 50% of the insured amount. DO NOT INSURE WITH THEM. No person-to-person communication and very devious scheming to NOT pay what they contracted for. NO STARS

      I have been a Customer for over 20 years and all my drivers have clean records and we have never filed a claim and yet they felt the need to hime my rates up by almost $70 a month and when I asked why they claim its just area rate hikes. I have auto, home, and life with Amica and I find it extremely disgusting that with everything happening in this country that they think its ok to hike up insurance by rates that high. They claim they cant pay their claims unless they raise them but what good is gonna do ya if everyone leaves your company for insane rate hikes.

      Looking for a well rounded "snap shot" view of Amica from varied customer's point of view? HEADS UP: THIS IS NOT IT.I grew up with Consumer Reports with a Dad that swore by their reviews. My parents gifted us a subscription every year. My first tip that Amica was top notch at customer service was from the repeated high rating in their publication. CR, in my opinion, is a source for an unbiased investigated analysis you should pay for, if you have to, to begin looking for an insurance company.Yes, I said "begin". I am not proud of this but when I bought my first new car, it was a long day for the sales guy. He had no idea my "looking" started long before that day. He remarked when it was over "I hope I am dead when you buy your first house!" Could you imagine my wedding day? No, either could I. This is not a "win" or a sign of success by any means.I digress. What's good for you may not be good for me. Amica was the best insurance company in terms of service I could buy in the open market. Normally, price is extremely important in my shopping. I am not cheap but I am good with money. I left corporate America at age 40 to work for 3 days a week for 9 months and live primarily off my investments since that time. I am 56 today. The point is this: My first priority is service above all else with purchases like home insurance. God forbid my house burns down, I do not want to feel like I have been kidnapped by the ***** of home insurance. Even more important than my honeymoon, that is moment I hope never occurs, but if it does, I want a policy and a person that affords me to focus on my loved ones, not loved things. After 20 plus years of Amica's service, I can tell you their people and their policies have exceeded the fine print. I mean when push came to shove, Amica delivered sort of like my parent's gift of Consumer Reports, consistently and with a value that exceeded the cover price.

      I was interested in getting Amica Insurance because of all the good reviews on other forums. Still, when I talked to their sales representative ******* **********, it was one of the worst sales reps **** talked to. He was not friendly by any means, not patient from the get-go, and rushed to get off the phone after 30 minutes because he had another appointment after this, and he mentioned it TWICE during the conversation. I was trying to clear out the roadblock caused by my previous insurance's mistake and he was no help at all other than trying to rush to the next appointment, so obviously other customers are way more important than I am. It's a terrible experience.

      Amica insurance is a fraudulent company. Weve been excellent customers & have had homeowners ********************** with them for over 10 years with zero claims but they keep adding thousands to our annual renewal. I spent hours on the ************* with their own representative, ***** ******, finally received a reasonable quote (emailed on Amica letterhead) but they are refusing to honor it. That was many months ago now. When I contacted them we heard every ridiculous excuse as to why they cant honor their own quotes. A manger even called and said they didnt approve of their own quote and now expect us to again spend hours on the phone negotiating a new policy. This is not how a business treats their customers.

      Very upset with Amica. When I called Amica to ask about my auto insurance renewal, they called me back and said they did not renew due to car accidents. I called them on November 6th and Amica said they sent a letter dated September 23rd. On my account, the only letter I received was dated on September 17th for student grades. I just received the letter that was dated September 23 last week ( week of November 11). I have emailed them telling them of my concerns. And nothing
