      I am the executor for a relative's estate. After at least five in-person visits to the bank branch and finally withdrawing all funds from his two accounts, I started to receive threatening notices that his account was delinquent. Apparently they had failed to close the two accounts when I had withdrawn all the funds for the estate. I am about to make my third phone call with the third division they've sent me to. I would never, ever bank with Citizens, and I'm shocked that they have an A rating with the Better Business Bureau.

      I would give no stars for the fact it cost me inability to get new $600 bonus,.They robbed me of the new $600 bonus by DISALLOWING THE opening Checking and savings at same time 6 20 2025. HOW? BY NOT PROPERLY CLOSING MY PREVIOUS ACCOUNT PROPERLY WHICH LEFT .91 cents in my account. I didn't discover that until 6 20 2025 when I tried opening a new account for $300 checking and $300 for savings OFFER. THATS $600 in bonus money they denied me. The problem was my account LATER IN YEAR 2024. $600 OUT THE WINDOW FOR FAILING TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT PROPERLY.. FOR A LOUSY .91 CENTS!

      I wanted to transfer my money for a deposit on a house, started on ********* account was blocked, no idea why. called customer service on 6/6 keep on transferring me to different department after 2 hours I was told I need to go to a brunch to resolve the issue with my account. There is no brunch in ******* for me to go to, but no one cared the phone was disconnected. I called back on 6/10 with the same response spoke to 4 different individual including a supervisor after 3hrs on the phone no one can help me to find a solution. What kind of business does not have alternative solution for people like me with no brunch office in the city. I even suggested for the supervisor to close my account & send a check to my address on file, but she said according to citizens policy they can not do that. she said to go to the nearest branch which is in *******. unbelievable!!! I might lose the house due to this Issue with the bank. You need to review your Policy & modify for your clients with out a brunch in their city.

      Citizens Bank has the worst banks, worst customer service, worst interest rates. called to change me email address. old one is not valid anymore. Tries to send me a code to that email address. Duh. I called customer service after about ten of the questions. Phone number, social security, location where I opened my account, last time I made a deposit, user name..... They told me I have to go to a branch to change my email. What a joke. And 0.01% interest on my money. I closing my account and moving my money to another bank.

      Watch out for unethical and hidden fees. I had a fee related to a HELOC accruing even though my statement said I had zero balance due!! The mortgage was paid off and I had zero dollars available on my HELOC, yet they neglected to formally close it or to contact me to tell me I had any additional steps to take. But kept on accruing annual fees without my knowing. I figured it out by accident. They are a scam factory. Stay away.

      Well, I give zero stars but the least you can do is one. I have nothing good to say about Citizens Bank with my home equity line of credit. Ive been on the telephone transfer to four different departments, including collections trying to resolve an installment plan to pay off this horrendous loan, which I will be able to pay off soon because were selling our house and I will never ever ever use Citizens Bank again once this is paid. Ive been transferred to people that I cant understand it dont speak English. Ive talked to many other representatives been transferred to other representatives went into the branch personally and nobody can help me all Im looking for is a help for an installment plan until I sell my house because youre charging me $370 a month on interest only which I believe is criminal. I havent used this loan in 20 years and you can see my past record with Citizens Bank. Ive never been late on any payments till recently because we are in Dire Straits right now financially and Im asking for help and thats all I wanted, but nobody wants to help me and I get transferred to all these different departments that cant understand me because they dont speak English and Im very frustrated so I would like this to be resolved one way or the other whether I have to talk to the CEO which I even tried calling that number of Citizens Bank to make a complaint or somebody call me that knows what theyre doing to set up possibly a payment plan till this gets paid off, which will be very soon once I sell my house.       I have waited for an escrow overage check(thousands of dollars) since 2/19. In their defense I have had trouble with payment, however I have been caught up for over a month. Im not just angry because of the ESCROW overage being held hostage but because I cannot get any movement on it after COUNTLESS phone calls. The average phone call time to even get to the right person is 30 minutes. At this point Im at a loss on what to do next. This has got to be the worst financial institution I have ever had to work with.

      This bank is a JOKE, J-O-K-E!! They are the worse! My auto loan was supposed to be paid in full by my GAP insurance..a check of over $8,200.00 that was sent over night and was signed and received on April 1st and it's April 29th and they still "haven't" found it!!! They give the run around jumping from one supervisor to the other with no answer! DO NOT USE THEM! Too bad I can't give them ZERO stars!

      Would give them ZERO stars if possible! My mortgage got sold to them and EVERYTHING has been a nightmare ever since! They are incompetent and rude! Every single time I call for help regarding a mistake on their part they basically say well too bad that's the way it is! This company is impossible to work with! I'm in the process of pulling my escrow account from them because they mess it up and overcharge every single year and they are still making this as difficult as possible and drawing it out even though their lack of doing their job is the reason I'm pulling it in the first place. RUN from this company!! Do not sign anything with them!
