      This bank will take your money, not allocate it to the correct account, and will leave you with a late payment on your credit score. DO NOT GET YOUR AUTO LOAN THROUGH THIS BANK. **************** will send you in circles and hand up on you when you are being polite. Very inconvenient, going to refinance this loan just so I don't have to deal with this nonsense

      I had fraud charges on credit card and can't get through to anyone on line or by phone to dispute them. They even sent me new card because they had a security breach. So I i look at my may 2022 statement and sure enough fraud. So been trying to put a freeze on new card. when I got my last statement it also had fraud charges on it so my new card has fraud charges to. Every time I call fraud department I've been on hold over an 1 and 1/2 hours. Tried to chat with someone through the app and as soon as I told them my issue I was logged out and disconnected. I Would not ever recommend this company to anyone! They have security breaches and then dont have anyone to help you with the fraud apparently. Closing account as soon as can get the fraud off, I'm not paying for someone else's charges the total over $500. Do not use this bank!

      We've been customers at this bank for several years and have noticed a steep decline in our experience over the last few years. I attribute this to a fraud prevention system that essentially hijacks accounts. It's defensive banking: better to be too cautious than not cautious enough. The effect is that everyday transactions like withdrawing money from an ATM are hampered if not outright denied (as happened to me today, just another in a string of ATM denials). Their rationale is that fraud protection must come firsttrouble is, OVERCOMING a blocked card or a denied transaction means getting in contact with customer service. If you've ever tried contacting this bank to sort something out, you'll know exactly what I mean: extended wait times on the phone (sometimes 20+ minutes), pathetic online chat technology that is not optimized for mobile users, and meaningless ******* DMs that simply send you back to their main customer support line. EVEN WHEN YOU VISIT A BRANCH, the helpless reps have to CALL THE SAME NUMBER and literally sit with you listening to hold music, making apologies for how much their bank s**ks.Oh please, you're not even trying.

      These people are scammers. We responded to an offer they sent us in the mail to get $300 for opening a new savings account, and meeting certain criteria. We jumped through all the hoops just to find out they had a clause stating we needed to open a checking account on the same day as well.I'm closing the account and will never give you another chance to scam us...

      I recently got a notice that same day deposit would be reflected on account when direct deposit is put into your account. That means you would get payment 2 days earlier than usual. This didnt happen every time only twice out of 5 deposits therefore this is false advertising. You actually dont receive it same day sender deposits it. Citizens shouldnt say this when its not happening, it causes inconvenience to all customers thinking a deposit will post and it doesnt. This is New York banks

      If I could give 0 stars I would! Their customer service is non-existent. My father passed away several years ago and I have been trying to close his account. I do not live near any of their branches and they refuse to do this over the phone. Shortly after passing I provided them with all the necessary information, death cert, POA, etc. and at that time in person in a branch, to be able to close the account and at that time they refused to close it without a probate order, which I did not need to do as he had no probatable assets and opening a probate case in my state costs more than is in the account. Should be simple to close, I had no problems with his other banks only Citizens has ridiculous requests and refused to close the account. If you are at this bank, take your money out and RUN to another bank.

      Wish I had investigated properly before I joined. **************** reps are incompetent. Fees are too high and managers may as well be regular customer service reps cause they dont know anything either. With them helping you better never have a issue. HORRIBLE!!!

      As i am sitting on the phone for over an hour as i am writing this. The agent on the phone told me i couldn't pay with a debit card,cause my account was not 10 dats past due. I asked to let me speak to a manager, he said ok,ive been waiting over an hour now. On this day july 18,twenty,twenty two,i found out that citizens banks rules are only for them to make money. I absolutely hate that im in a car loan w them. So quick to report on your credit when its late ,even for good reason, but so slow when it comes to good customer service cause of the rules of the company . I hope this review helps someone to go and get a loan from a company that actually, somewhat cares about the customer, and not just about a stupid carnote. If there was a way i could give it back with out any reprocutions on my credit report i would. This is crazy. After typing all of this,with my 1 thumb,im still on hold. Waiting and waiting and waiting........well its time to go to work now. I would stay on the phone,but the people i work for actually care about customers enough to show enough respect to not have them on the phone over a hour like citizens does. Citizens is the worst. Thanks for nothing. Hope this helps someone. I hope you guys catch up to 2022,we use debit cards to pay carnotes now.

      Opening Account at Citizens Bank after multiple mailings to open an account: While having the option to do this online and after 8 mailings in 6 months my wife and I decided to try to open an account online as they gave us an option and after sending them everything they want they decide to reject the account. They don't want to honor what they stated in the multiple mailings that I have received in the mail. They are not true and while I have a mortgage account with them, I want no further dealings with them.
