On 1/15/24 I test drove a vehicle at the Jamil Road location, and I was interested in purchasing it. There was no "Sold As-Is" sign, nothing in the listing stating that there were any known issues, but it had a few minor things. The only issue I pressed was that the front brakes needed work. The front end shakes when braking. I was then told by at least 3 employees (including the site manager) that there was nothing wrong with the car before they had a mechanic drive it. This guy came back after the drive and took it straight to the shop out back to see what the problem was. It needed brakes. He was told to order the parts and I was told the brakes would be fixed (at no cost to me), someone would call me within a week to schedule the work. It's been almost 2 weeks. I have called several times. Each time I get shuffled around from person to person, and eventually hung up on. To me, this is them refusing to do the work agreed upon at the time of purchase. This is bad business! This was the 5 vehicle I have purchased from a JT's location over the last 12 years, and it will surely be te last!Business Response

I scheduled a service appointment at this dealership to have my 2017 Alpa Romeo worked on. I called days before just to verify that they would in fact work on the vehicle. I scheduled the car to be towed days later even after getting a text verifying that my car would be serviced that Saturday. I had to schedule a tow the day before because I would be out of town on business that day. The driver arrived and was informed that the vehicle would not be serviced after me being told it would. The associates were beyond rude to me and the driver. I was told that I can’t speak to a manger by Les Lawhorn who informed me he was the highest ranking member in the floor. I ask if that was fair to me that I would have to pay for a tow back to home and then to the dealership 80 miles away. I would have towed to the dealership first if I hadn’t been told that they service my vehicle. I was told he refuses vehicles all the time and they are in the same situation as me. This can’t go on with some sort of solution after being told something and then refused service.Business Response

I purchased a vehicle with low milage (45,000) from business around 12/22. I started to experience problems with engine and transmission immediately before my first oil change. Then, it was problems with the O2 sensors. I contact JT Autoland about the problems and they did not return my phone call. Currently, the car did not start, I put the car in the shop. As per a report, the car has over 200,000 miles -someone tamper with the mileage, the car need a new engine and transmission. as a result, I have to pay $12,000 in repairs. I purchased the car for $20,000 because of low mileage.Business Response

On Feb 23, 2023 we were sold a Dodge Ram from Dodgeland on Greystone Blvd in Columbia. Since this point, we have had repairs done on this vehicle multiple times. It was a vehicle that had a bunch of mechanical problems that never should have been sold in the first place. It broke down and almost killed my husband on the interstate only two week after purchasing. I had to fight and beg Billy Swanson (car salesman) to help us then and it was a struggle. We bought an expensive warranty with these guys and the warranty has done nothing for us. The vehicle took two weeks to fix. A few weeks later another electronic issue occurred. Instead of fighting Dodgeland again we took it to a mechanic that had the electronic program to reboot the system. It took him one day to fix where Dodgeland would have kept it for weeks.
On July 20, 2023, my husband was sitting in his truck eating lunch when a piece of the truck fell off of the vehicle. He had no idea what could have happened. We made the terrible mistake of trusting the warranty again and had it sent back to dodgeland. I messaged the number I was given to check on the vehicle on July 28th. No response. I went up there to check on it a few days later and they still had not even looked at the vehicle. On August 15th I messaged again and begged them to please contact us. The guy that responded stated he no longer worked there but made a call for me. Called me back and said parts have been ordered and it would be repaired in 2 weeks with a $150 charge. Today is 8/21/23 and they are now telling us that they will be replacing the battery. The battery was fine. They left a light on in the vehicle and killed the battery and now trying to charge us $350. This is the worst business I have ever encountered. My husband has been struggling with vehicles to get him to work for over a month. We have been making payments on a vehicle we can't even drive. Something needs to be done. We need a running vehicle.Business Response

On 5/3/2023 I took my car to JT's DodgeLand of Columbia with an appointment. I requested service for clanking noises coming from the front end. I was informed by JT's Dodgeland of Columbia on 5/4/23 that I needed a new motor mount to fix the clanking noise and it wasn't an urgent repair. I was told my car was still able to be driven safely. I wanted the noise/repair completed so I authorized the repair and was quoted $780 for the repair. The repair was completed on 5/8/23 at 5:30P. I arrived at JT's Dodgeland on 5/8/23 to pick up my car. As I given an explanation of the charges for the repair, I was told I would receive a discount of $120 due to my experience and extended time needed for the repair. I was only informed while picking my vehicle that I needed new sway bars on the front suspension, which is the reason for the clanking noise. I was given a quote for additional repair AFTER paying for my original repair. I initially authorized the repair due to my confidence in Certified Dealer Technicians at JT's Dodgeland to complete the necessary repairs needed for my vehicle issues. I was lead to believe that the motor mount issue was the repair needed. I was informed after the repair that sway bar issue is the root cause of my issues. I charged for a repair on my car that wasn't needed.Business Response

On April 21st I can to buy a suv from JTs Autoland, on the advertisement outside it says they will give you up to $1000 more than next door and I did have a quote from next door for 12000. So I went to look at suvs, I ended up finding one I like but it was at dodge land we went to get it and drove it back everything was great. Although they were charging me more than online and also gave me less than next door I was ready to leave after being there for over 6 hours and I am also 8 months pregnant. By the time I got on the interstate the car was running hot I called the dealership they told me to cut the 30k car off and let it cool down in rush hour traffic, at this time smoke started to come from the hood i immediately got off the interstate and was back at the dealership in less than 10 minutes, I was given a loaner. On April 24th I called to inform them that I wanted to do a return as their website states I can get a refund if I return the car in the same condition with less than 200 miles driven. The manager said mo South Carolina does not have a cool down period and I can get another car at the same or greater value and he would call me back in 15 minutes, after not revue I g a call back after 15 minutes I called again and was left on hold for over 15 minutes when I hung up the phone. They are very unethical and do a lot of false advertising as a Army veteran and also a citizen I am very dissatisfied and disappointedBusiness Response

I purchased my BMW 428i Gran Coupe from JTs AutoLand, 561 Jamil Rd, Columbia SC 29210 on December 23rd. There was a specific agreement made at the time of purchase. They agreed to fix quite a few things on this car. It has been over a month and I still don’t have my car. My first payment is due soon and I should not have to pay for something I currently don’t have. There has been little communication. When I call or text to check the status, there are different answers and no results. I am filing this complaint because something has to be done.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I need clear and concise terms. The payment was due on Feb. 7th, it has not been paid. Let's be clear of terms and make a solid agreement here. I am requesting that the car be fixed as we agreed upon on Dec 23rd, I am requesting full monthly car payment for February and I am requesting a full payment for car insurance for the month of February. I also need a certified BMW report and documentation to state why this process is taking so long because at this point I feel like you are selling me a lemon. In extension to this agreement, if there are days that I dont have my car in the month of February, my car payment due in March is to be paid by the JTs Autoland as well. So let's just agree that JTs Autoland is responsible for February and March car payment at this point.

On December 18, 2022, I purchased a 2017 Infinity QX60 from JTs Dodgeland. I paid a down payment and traded in a vehicle for the purchase of the Infinity. The salesman Aaron and his manager Kelvin both made a verbal agreement to diagnos and repair the car because the check engine light was on. The sales professionals at JTs refused to call back so I reached out to James at Dick Smith Infinity who told me he completed a diagnositc test and advised JTs Dodgeland of the results. After several requests for the general manager, Kelvin (sales manager) advised yesterdat that now JTs wants to unwind the deal and take back the vehicle because they dont want to complete the repairs.Business Response
