RE: ***** ****** * ********* *** ********
Dear Cindy:
Advance
America, Cash Advance Centers of South Carolina, Inc. (“Advance America”), is in receipt of a complaint filed by *****
Potter. We have thoroughly reviewed and appreciate the opportunity to respond.
In
the complaint, ***** contends a loan was taken out using their personal
information, however, was not authorized. ***** contends their family members
are being contacted by “united account service” regarding the debt and would
like the communications to cease.
According to our records, ***** entered into a
Consumer Loan Agreement (“Agreement”) with Advance America on May 5, 2024.
Pursuant to the Agreement, ***** was approved to make draws of up to eight
hundred dollars ($800). On May 5, 2024, ***** requested and was approved for a
draw of eight hundred dollars ($800). Payment attempts were made, however, were
unsuccessful and remained unpaid. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to
contact ***** and collect their past due balance, their loan was sold to
National Debt Holdings on October 20, 2024, with a balance owed of one thousand
dollars and fifty-three cents ($1000.53). We recommend ***** reach out to
National Debt Holdings at (877) 277-5571 to discuss mutually agreeable payment
options.
On December 20, 2024, we investigated *****’s
claims referencing identity theft. Unfortunately, there is not enough evidence
to support *****’s claim at this time. Our Fraud Response Team sent
notification to ***** on December 20, 2024. Should ***** want to continue the
investigation, they will need to submit a copy of a police report or FTC
Identity Theft report noting the above loan was obtained fraudulently. *****
may submit the documentation to either ********************************* or
**************************************
With regards to *****’s complaint referencing
“United Account Service,” we reached out to National Debt Holdings and they
confirmed they have no affiliation. These communications appear to be an effort
to defraud customers, like *****, by falsely claiming to represent our company,
Advance America. Advance America would never threaten a customer with legal
action that could not lawfully be undertaken, nor would it condone such
behavior by third parties acting on its behalf.
If ***** believes that they have fallen victim
to a potential scam, they may wish to visit the FBI reporting website for
further guidance and assistance in reporting this incident. The link to this
resource can be found here: It is
imperative that ***** exercise caution and diligence in dealing with any

I got a text message from Advance America stating that I was approved for 10,000. I texted them back. I only wanted 7000. I called and spoke to 1 person at Advance America I don't remember the 1st guys name. He took my information down and transferred me to Christian Hudson he got ALL my information, he was the main one I spoke to this whole time. (all text mess. below are all him) Christian stated that he was not able to transfer my funds into my bank of America account. He then asked if I had another account, I stated no. Christian stated that they could wire it to me Western Union but I would have to pay a fee of $200 and they would give it back with the 7000 which made it 7200. I never receive the loan. The next day I texted him to figure out what happened and he told me that it did not work and if I could open another account at another bank. He was trying to get me to open other things I said I am not putting out more money. I want my 200 back. This went on for days until he finally said I wasn't getting my 200 back. Never received my loan or my 200. He told me I would have to put out money to get money, I said if that was the case I would never asking for a loan. I really think this was a scam, I never had this hard of a time getting a loan and they wont give my 200 back. He stated that W. Union had a hold on it and they would have to put a claim in to get it back. After all of this he stated that the bank was holding the money and that it would clear. I called BOA and they stated that there was nothing pending from them or that they never sent anything. I said well Advance said they sent it but you guys (BOA) was holding it due to fraud. BOA stated that they would not hold anything that was coming in. The 1st picture below is me trying to cash app because he said he couldn't take the 200 out of my checking account even though he had my info. I had to Bitcoin him because the cash app he sent me wasn't working. Is it possible Bitcoin can be traced?Business Response

I was seeking a debt consolidation loan of $4000. I signed all the paperwork and was told my credit score needed to come up by 20+ points.
they requested me to return $1000 that was put into my bank account. (I had given them full access to it.) They suggested using Apple gift cards. This I did. When I called them to find out what to do next, I also checked my bank account There was another $500 in it. They told me I needed to return that also. While trying to find another card, I checked my account again. There was an additional $1000 in it. I called back to find out why this was there. They said they needed it to raise my credit score again.
At this point I told them that IA thought this was a scam and I wouldn't do it until I talked to my bank. I got a call from Chase (my bank) that his was normal. So I western Union'ed $1500 dollars to them. I cost ME $130 to do this. The next morning, there was more money in my account. I called them to find out why. They once again told me - credit score. At this point I checked my account details and found that they were posting fraud notices to Chase to get that money in my account. My creditors were on my case about my accounts being overdrawn.
I also found a $1000 loan, not the 4000
I signed for.Business Response

I got a loan online on 11/18 for $715. On 11/20 I attempted to make a payment online, and by calling the customer service number. The rep said that I was not able to make a payment until the 4th day. Which, of course will incur a fee of $88.50. In IN, you are allowed 3 days to cancel a contract so that is why they say you can't pay it until the 4th day. They want that fee. The website says that you can pay off the loan early, there is nothing about a timeframe.Business Response

RE: ********* ****** * ********* *** ********
Dear Cindy:
Advance
America, Cash Advance Centers of Indiana, Inc. (“Advance America”), is in receipt of a complaint filed by ********* ******. We have thoroughly reviewed and appreciate the opportunity to respond.
In the complaint, ********* ****** contends
they attempted to make a payment online and through the customer service
number; however, was told “…I was not able to make a payment until the 4th day.”
According
to our records, ********* entered into a Customer Loan Agreement (“Agreement”)
with Advance America on November 18, 2024. Pursuant to the Agreement, ********* agreed to repay an amount of eight hundred three dollars and fifty cents
($803.50) on or before December 13, 2024.
We
understand *********** *frustration regarding the recent payment issue and
appreciate them bringing this to our attention. After carefully reviewing the
call recording, we can confirm that our agent did provide accurate information
about payment options. Specifically, ********* was advised that cash payments
could be made at one of our branch locations and a payment was already
scheduled for the due date. ********* wanted to utilize a debit card for their
payment; however, debit cards are unable to be used as a payment method for up
to three (3) days after loan origination.
Regarding
the interest charges, it's important to note that according to the terms of *********** *agreement, to avoid fees and interest, the loan would have needed to be
rescinded by close of business on November 19, 2024. ********* made their call
on November 20, 2024.The prepayment clause in *********** Agreement states that
early payoff does not result in a refund of any part of the fee, unless the
loan is cancelled as outlined in the 'Right to Cancel' section.
Our
team members work diligently to provide clear and accurate information to all
our customers. If ********* has further questions about their agreement or
payment options, we're here to assist you and ensure you have all the
information you need. ********* may contact our Customer Care Team at ***** *********

I received a text from Advance America that I had been approved for a $10000 loan. If interested in taking the loan I should contact the company at ************** and speak to Paul H*****. I was given an approval ID of CL-10480 for a loan of $10000 with monthly payments of $185.26.
I called to get more information about the loan as I wanted to take the loan offered. I was given repeated excuses as to why the loan had not been deposited and several requests for payments that eventually added up to $1900.
I have requested a refund of the $1900 I paid in and am awaiting resolution by the commission.Business Response
