  Southland Log Homes did an incredible job tracking the progress of my project. The referral list of builders is key, however, as the builder has ultimate "hands-on" impact on how the details of site preparation and log home construction will go. What I liked most about the staff interactions with Southland Log Homes was the degree of professionalism and iterative planning before the log home kit was assembled and delivered. As I recall, everything was delivered as promised, making the construction go more smoothly for my builder. My customer sales and service representative Mike Harville is to be commended. The building company I selected was N-Style Construction out of Lexington, NC. Covid-19 hit with no warning during my construction phase - that coupled with extreme wet weather conditions, labor shortages, price increases for lumber and delays for materials to complete the inside framing and trim-out were no one's fault. My builder kept a positive attitude and was willing to pull out the stops when necessary. This was critical in getting through the rough spots. The kitchen designer and supplier, Reliable Cabinetry and Closets, LLC were excellent as was the counter top suppler, Carolina Soapstone.

  So far everything has gone exceptionally well. The purchase process was easy and the log delivery was on time and appeared compete. We're still waiting on the final permitting for the build but so far we would rate Southland 5 out of 5 stars.

  Southland Log homes was great from start to finish. Although I am still not finished, but that's on me. All questions were answered by very experienced people. All problems that I faced were taken care of promptly. would highly recommend Southland, if you are interested in a log home. Started in 2017, hired a crew from Tennessee to assemble and get me dried in. I did ( am doing the rest, weekends forever) Living in house 1/2 the year each year. Down to finishing touches, which are easy to procrastinate. Very proud of our beautiful log home.

  Very good company to work with . Great home . The design team was great to work with as well as customer service. Logs arrived in time. Built in 2018. This is the warmest, coolest , quietest home we have every lived in . Very energy efficient.

  I've been in my Southland log home for about 4 years now. Four years of joy and a constant stream of compliments. Dealing with this company has been a great experience. I've dealt with Gil Clark, the design team, factory workers, warehouse personnel, and delivery drivers. I can honestly say without exception, the entire staff has been phenomenal. They even recommended Roy Coffey Builders out of Morganton, NC who I did hire to build this masterpiece. They bring fussy to a whole new level. I selected a sloping waterfront lot on Lake James and opted for a walkout basement which gives me 3 levels with lots of windows. I think it's magazine worthy but Southland has yet to take me up on my offer to allow a photo shoot. When you add this up it's 5 stars!

  We were extremely satisfied with Southland Log Homes in Louisville Kentucky. We have built 4 houses in the past, and this was by far the best experience we've had. The customer service was attentive to any issues we had. About a year after completion a porch post had bowed. I called customer service, sent a photo, and they sent 2 posts, for a replacement. Great staff and service.

  Our log home kept us safe and sound through Hurricane Ian. With winds at 155 mph no leakage or damage. An extremely well manufactured and assembled product.

  Our house had burned down and we had to rebuild. The design and delivery of materials were FAST. Never had any issues. Everyone at Southland Log Homes has been GREAT!!! I have never had an issue and they are always there to help and answer questions. I had the wrong window for my Kitchen and Southland Log Homes sent me the size I needed and it was delivered in a week. I couldn't be HAPPIER with the way they handled things for me. I have told everyone who asks that Southland Log homes is the way to go. Keep up the GREAT work!!!!!!!!

  They let me choose my best option:
  Buy and and built it by myself or they can take care all process and once they done all I need to do is grab my keys of my new home.

  The log home kit purchased was received as promised; although I thought the exterior stain was going to be provided with an insect repellant additive (it wasn’t). Building plans provided were satisfactory. Clear and concise.
  
  I had some difficulty getting in touch with SLH to answer questions; however, persistence paid off and questions were ultimately addressed.
  
  My personal feeling of the basic log home kit is it is of very good quality. Any issues with the materials were the result of the general contractor (independent of SLH) who allowed the materials to be exposed unnecessarily to the weather for an extended period of time resulting in permanent staining to some beams and bubbling of the subfloor. Additionally, building plans not always followed by GC.
  
  Overall SLH was as advertised. If I am ever in the market to build another log home, I would reach out to them again.
  
  Words of wisdom…..if you are not present on a daily/near daily basis on your build, I would strongly suggest hiring a 3rd party to represent you at the build site to ensure GC follows plans, provides adequate protection of materials, and to keep the build moving forward.
