I installed the door as per the instructions. I did not deviate in any way from the written or video instructions. After we completed the install - we went on to install the handle. The door would not open. the bottom right corner (handle side) dug into the aluminum threshold. We measured the gap at the top of the door. on the hinge side - 1/4 inch - in the middle 3/8 of an inch - on the right or handle side 5/8 of an inch. Larson said - "sorry you installed it wrong - your door frame is too weak to support the heavy door. I asked them to send a rep to help assess the the issue. Sorry our doors are sold as do-it-yourself. We will send you a free kit. Remove the door and start over - do it right this time.Business Response

We reached out to ****** ****** When talking with ****** he mentioned he had a contractor who was going to install the storm door in December 2024. The contractor said he did not know how to install it. The door sat around till April 2025 till installed. I explained to ****** there is squaring spacers that are installed at the factory. If those are removed or fall out from being moved around the door will be out of square and hang on the handle side when installed. ****** understood. We have sent him a reinstallation kit which includes new squaring spacers and instructions on how to put them in and reinstall the door. ****** said he is going to have a contractor take the door down put the squaring spacers in and reinstall the door. He said he would reach out to us if he had issues.

The storm door cracked on the inside from the top of the door to the bottom. The company told me that it must have been wind or abuse that caused this. The door is in a protected area under a sunroom. There was no wind on Saturday nor was there any abuse to the door. This company advertisers a lifetime warranty on their products.Business Response

Purchased a storm door from this company. Two years later, I experienced an issue. They’re supposed to have a lifetime warranty. When I called to order a new for my door, they sent the screen. But was told they don’t install it. I do not work on screen door doors therefore I need them to supplier person to install it. They said they don’t do that.Business Response

I have been installing Larson storm doors for 30 yrs. I ordered a $355 Larson storm door on 3/31/2025 and installed it shortly thereafter. My problem is with the "handed" door levers (left and right versions, depending on the swing of the door). Before the Larson family sold their family business to Fortune Brands in 2020 you could indeed get left or right handed levers depending on the door swing. Now, you can only get levers for left swinging doors. If installation is a right swing, you must install the door levers upside down. The levers are curved and the curve is designed to match the concavity of ones palm. I was provided hardware that could only be installed upside down, so that is what I did, thinking Larson should make it right for free. Calling Larson didn't go well. Their rep. informed me that a door lever "mirroring kit" to solve my problem is available for $50. I told her they should provide a solution for free as it is their problem. She spoke to her supervisor and came back with the offer of lever "mirroring kit" for $30. I told her I would not be spending any money as I feel they need to provide a solution to their problem, not take additional money for it. The rep. stated that, "it is your [my] opinion that the levers in question are oriented upside down". . . It is also my opinion that the world is round. I have been installing doors for 30 years. I can only imagine the problems Schlage or Kwikset would encounter if they only offered "lefthanded" door levers when it comes to anatomical levers. Ask any trim carpenter and they will tell you: on an anatomical lever the swoop goes up to accommodate the concavity of ones down turned palm. If Larson doesn't want to deal with this issue, they should reengineer their levers and make them straight levers. Also, when contacting Larson you are asked to input a registration number for your door. Their system doesn't even recognize a correctly entered registration number. I'm disappointed with the new Larson.Business Response

Hi. I’m reaching out about my storm door. I have lived at this house since 2017 and I believe this storm door was put on in 2008 according to the warranty number on the door which is ********* ** ****.
According to the old home owners and everything I’ve looked up these doors have lifetime warranties. The door is not functioning properly. It barely closes the handle is coming off and the door is very drafty.
I want a replacement under the lifetime warranty. I know a lot of companies hate doing that but it’s not my fault. It should last longer than it has.Business Response

Hi, I bought two new storm doors from Menards in West Bend Wi. I had problems with one door handle. The inside knob you turn to lock or unlock the door from inside became very hard to turn. Went to menards three times before talking to someone who was able to help, ***** ****). he was able to get me a new handle and problem solved, not for long. The same problem happened with the new handle. Went back and talked to ****. told him I would try to lubricate the lock knobs. That didn't work. called the Larson support number and entered my door number, kept hanging up on me. went to menards again, they gave me a phone number where I was able to send a message about my problem. Larson said I probably overtightened the handles and to try loosening them. Tried that, they were tight without being attached to the doors. Larson said to send my address and they would send me a shipping label and to remove the handles from the doors and send them for inspection. Without the handles on the doors, they could be opened with a screwdriver but otherwise, no in or out of our front doors! I could have returned the complete doors and bought from another company or bought the handles myself. I went to menards and ordered two different style handles without the twist inside lock knobs. This eliminated the problem but, costed me $123.53 for the both. Do still have all the packaging for the doors and the locks. Sucks to have to pull them off the house. My house had larson doors on it before replacing them.Business Response

Yesterday I bought their lever CH3000301 white... the latch was broken rivet had no head wants to come apart...I tried their chat line..finally they sent me to a site "ask a question??" which wanted my credit card info... they didn't answer their phone help line....tried to just order a part on their parts dept. but one they show is different as it has square ends where mine are bullet shaped... it is a 120 mile drive back to menards so that isn't a help... all I want is the correct part so I can install a locking screen door...that I PAID for!!!Business Response

I purchased from ***** a Larson Platinum RS RH Linen 32 door plus hardware.
Approximately 12 months later the screen portion fell down and could not be repaired. I contacted the company who said they will send a free screen.
The screen arrived and my contractor (who has put on all my doors) could not replace and make it work. Repeated calls to the company went unanswered or I was in line waiting for min of 80 minutes.
Second door I purchased from *******, the SAME door; however , on my part was the wrong size. I then ordered the correct door- minus the hardware which was taken from door #1. Everything was going smoothly until my contractor could not put the handle (hardware) on... per the directions included because the holes did not line up. (pictures enclosed). Without handles on you cannot put the door up. You cannot open door. Cannot open door, cannot find registration.
Again calls to the company were pointless.Business Response
