      Zero Customer service, no matter what your situation. The bottom line is that they know they have a monopoly and don't care about their customers. They treat everyone like crap, especially if they are in the wrong. First, they wouldn't connect my Dad's gas at his new low-income apartment because his wife died and there was a bill he didn't know about. He couldn't afford to pay the bill to connect at his low-income apartment. He only gets $1000 in social security a month. Then they turned off my Dad's gas in his low-income apartment, TWICE. He is old and needs hot water. He doesn't know how to pay his bills because his wife, who died, did that. First, they billed the wrong person. Then, they sent him the bill, in someone else's name. He was supposed to be put on autopay from his bank. They didn't do it. Now he owes $600 and has to pay the reconnect fee again, this is the 2nd time—their mistakes. Rocky Mountain Power has managed to get it right, why can't they????

      We have no other choice in our area but to use this horrible company. We own several investment properties. A LICENSED General Contractor keeps our properties in code compliance and Black Hills Energy tags equipment and makes up their own code compliance. Insane. They tagged a short 40 gallon water heater in a hundred year old house and said it was undersized for the home. Where is a 40 gallon unacceptable? Installed by a licensed plumber to code. When we called to talk with a supervisor it was not allowed and we were told they would contact us in 1 to 2 business days about it. Unacceptable. There is no other gas company in the area, or we would gladly leave this horrendous business. We are forced to use them. Horrible.

      Bullsh*t company. Dumped a huge "extra" amount on my bill without a single explanation. When I finally got in contact with someone to find out the reason, I was told I had not been billed at the correct rate and that this extra charge was they went back the last 12 months and added what I should have been billed. I told them it was their F up not mine, but typical big bullsh*t coorperation. Their answer: you either pay or or get disconnected.

      Since February 1994 I have been paying for a service through Black Hills for my outdoor yard light. It's a 250 watt light on a pole. $5.62 per month for 30 years. I called on August 27, 2024 for a new light because the current light bulb is getting hot and shutting off, after it cools it comes back on. The use of the light in our yard is for family events, yard work and safety. The light goes off and on all through the night, which affects the use of the light. I pay for the light and the service fee. When I called in August, I was told by the customer service rep that it would take 8-10 business days before someone would be out to change the bulb. As of today, September 26, 2024, no new bulb. Many calls to customer service with multiple responses. Promises not kept and inconsistent information. I filed a complaint on the website and requested a phone call, no phone call. I believe the company if afraid to call. I'm not rude, I don't use foul language but I would like some service, which is not being provided. I've paid over $2,000 over the last 30 years for this service but cannot get any reaction for over 30 days. I was told there was an outage and that needed to be handled first. Checked the website, 0 clients without power listed. When I made that comment to the customer service rep, I was told that the website isn't always up-to-date. Then why tell customers to use the website? I do not have another option in my area to choose from for energy, so I am stuck. I am doing my best to spread the word about the poor service and customer service that Black Hills Energy provides. It's awful, there's no accountability and I will continue to spread this information until someone at Black Hills has the courage to call me and talk to me directly. I'm sure that will not happen, even after it's been requested multiple times.

      they sent me a notice refund check for less than $150 from left over previous acct, the letter clearly has my addresses, and confirmed the refund made to me and my ex. I called three times to get this refund since July until September, and finally found out they sent the check to my ex. This company is a Joke, their employees do not seem caring about what customer service, they don't bother to go above and beyond, possible they don't pay enough to do something like that. If there is other utility company that provide same service they offer, I would have gone to other company. The problem is, Black Hills Energy seems the only company who provides the service in my area.

      Because Black Hills Energy has an illegal monopoly on the supply of electricity north of Highway 50 in Pueblo West Colorado, they vastly overprice their customers who need at least one other competitor so that Black Hills Energy can no loger demand any Kilowatt Hour price or "additional charges" they desire!

      Too many power outages all over the city all the time. Barely rains the electricity goes off for hours. Ive had literally 5 power outages in the last week alone. I guess thats how they earned their name black hills. They tend to leave everything black with no electricity!! And we have hills all over with houses and with no electricity its black!!?! There you go!

      If i could give 0 stars i would. This company has left me and my family which includes 2 small children and pets without power for 27 hours and still out. About 500 dollars plus worth of food has spoiled and when i call they tell me their is nothing they can do for me. My bill is paid on time every month even when they just randomly increase our bill. Our bill is already sky high and then when there is a issue they leave you in the dark literally. Ive had one pet die already and they wont do anything. People with medical issues that need power are screwed because they dont care. This place is a absolute joke

      My energy bill just went through the absolute group. The cost for delivery and distribution alone is three times the amount of electricity I've used. The amount that I've paid for electricity I've used has more than double. I'm sick to my stomach. How am I going to be able to afford to keep my family warm this this winter?? Or keep them from overheating this summer?! ???? I am literally sick to my stomach with my bill.
