      Black Hills Energy are crooks. They do not read meters. They guess/choose what to charge even when you prove to them that their rates and monthly bills are wrong.

      Black hills came out to change thier equipment. They destroyed my water heater then said we have to pay for it. They won’t fix their mistake. The tech tracked mud through my family room and proceeded to say we need to call the plumber - after hours on a holiday week- and they would not pay for it. They refused to fix their mistake and told us good luck with not having water. These people are criminals.

      Well complaining here doesn't appear to matter much, but to share. I activated a gas account at a shop I bought. Used 0 gas (according to their own records) and somehow have a $180 bill. I call tland it is their service admin/safety fees. My question is if NO ONE from this company has ever called me, been to my building and I have 0 gas usage what are these fees for? Litterally just existing in their system? This company reflects exactly what is wrong with companies and why NO ONE trust them. Good luck getting paid.

      It would help if you recieved your bill before it gets to $1100.00. We’ve been heating water for 2 weeks now to bathe & for dishes. Big thanks for the help Black bill energy. You guys really don’t care about your customers.

      Poor follow up by Blackhills on checking up on subcontractors they hired to install new residential gas meters. A new gas meter was installed at my house within the last 2 years by a subcontracror workng for Blackhills. Today, September 20th, a Blackhills service man came by my house and said he was checking for leaks. He found 3 leaks at the new gas meter connection that needed repairs. This is unacceptable

      Worst people too work with for sure. Quick to take your money but once something happens and it's on there end they don't want to help at all. Oppd buyout Black Hills please

      When I signed up for their levelized billing, I was not told that if I closed the account I would have to pay the difference in the amount. I moved to a location that did not use natural gas so I did not need their service anymore. I tried to work out this issue with them but they said that since the account was closed, there was no help to be had. At one time I had the ability to try and reach sole kind of financial agreement with them but they wouldn't do anything to come to an agreement. So they sent me to collections and I keep telling collections, CBE Group that I can't afford to pay the amount. I feel I was deceived about the program and not given the full details. I don't have the money to pay it, I don't live somewhere where I use natural gas and just want them to come to the table and negotiate in good faith. CBE is also not doing good faith negotiations and just keep asking why can't I pay even though I keep explaining to them I can't afford to pay it.

      3 adjectives to describe Black Hills energy: thieves, criminals, greed driven lowlifes. Their "budget billing" is a complete scam which is where they supposedly decrease your monthly bill to a default and then charge you a lump sum. However, this is a lie, our monthly rates increased every single month no matter the time of year, just steady increase to we were paying close to $400 a month for a very small house. For three students this caused a lot of financial distress as we were barely using our electricity because of the rates. They are now trying to charge us a $360 cancellation fee for the "benefit" of being on this plan. What a joke!!

      This company is a disaster. I went from using 3 thrms one month to 154 the next month, then back down to 3? They just sent me 1,330 dollar bill that says it's due in 20 days but says the due date is 16 days ago? I have proof of payment for last month's bill. Furthermore, the bill states they're charging $500 just in delivery fees? Seriously? I just don't see how we could've used more energy this month now that we're hooked up to solar than we ever have before we got solar? How is that even possible if we're putting INTO the grid not taking from it? Of course I have to wait until Monday to call any sort of service representative. At this point I'm considering calling a lawyer.
